This was a really well done comparison. I think it has sold the Pixel to me. The iPhone seems to have greater clarity during the daytime, but when the light levels are low, the Pixel outshines it in every way. And then there's the price difference.

I'd agree although the iPhone does much better with the lights in the background. The Pixel dark mode lights are not as sharp. Also the iPhone seemed just a hair more stable while moving. Otherwise hard to tell that much difference. Thanks for the comparison, very well done!
Won't anyone comment on how the audio recorded in pixel was so damn good and crisp.
Google's computational photography is on another level. Just for the photos that sky in it, Apple's software make it more blueish which is a bit more pleasant to see.
Exactly! If google could keep the same great high dynamic range but make the skys more blue like Apple they would have the perfect photo! The HDR on the pixel is so much better than apples but that blue sky is a major issue on pixels. I own both and don’t know which one I really prefer
It feels like Google photos are more natural, that's why I think it is the best and I also had an iphone 12 and the photos always looked a little bit saturated and yellowish.

Great comparison! I liked the pixel best overall. Even on the video. I liked the colors and sharpness on the pixel better with video although the apple had better stabilization. The pixel seemed to be more true to life to me,which i like better. I would like to buy a pixel 6xl phone if they make one with decent specs.

now this is a proper comparison video, thanks a bunch! I wonder if by taking the pictures in RAW with the Google Pixel 4a the result can be even better? or you did so already? with video iPhone wins, but shooting videos on phones is still a bit of a waste of time in my opinion.
Thanks, RAW could be better since you can post edit to your liking. I personally haven't tried it as I don't do any post editing myself.

How do your pics look like that on the 4g mine look all grainy
Pixel beats the 12 but both camera's are really good. Vids of iphone are better, but wow pixel made a giant leap forward. The vids are really good now.
But i prefer android over Apple. Plus my 4a5g costs me 400 euro and the 12 (128 Gb) is 1000 euro's!

Iphone is always on a warmer side,increased contrast & Pixel is always close to natural contrast.
I am thinking to buy pixel but worried about the video stabilization. I do tiktok and my Samsung 10s plus shoot terrible front camera videos.. laggy movements and my videos were very much unstable. Is pixel good in recording front camera videos
I think Pixel video is pretty good, others may disagree. Sadly iPhone may be the best for video, especially for social apps.

Pixel 4a 5G has only one mistake and it is its size! 😏 If Classic pixel 4a had ultrawide camera it would be perfect deal for 349€ 😕

All you can do is turn off face retouching. Doesn't smooth out my skin I that setting.

I'll see what I can do for future videos, but honestly I personally don't like using flash as it pretty much always ruins the photo.
iPhone photos look so artificial and oversaturated in most cases in comparison with the Pixel. Watching your video on my Pixel 4a5g btw🌚
But for video recording i would prefer the iPhone, for its great stabilization.

Pixel 4a 5g -photos ,as well as 1080p video rear, iphone 12 for all its so called glory, 4k video in front camera only its better at. Too bad i will never afford both anyways. But yeah pixel 4a 5g beat iphone 12 in camera department for me.

Thanks Grant, the iPhone and the Pixel with almost identical pictures, I actually less like the fact that the Pixel becomes like an iPhone, The images have become too processed and less natural than the previous Pixels, in my opinion the Pixel 2 had the best camera.

I take more photos when i have the pixel compared to the iphone. The iphone tends to produce a warmer and different colour of the skin tone.

There's basic display settings for Boosted and Adaptive, but no fine tune controls.

The 4a 5g feels so nice in my hand. But NOTHING compares to the first gen pixel design. It was so nice.
That slightly curved back it had to hide the camera bump was interesting. I remember a lot of people giving it grief for that though.

Overall the Pixel 4a 5G performs little bit better in zooming, nightmode and portraid mode but iPhone 12 can better scale ultraweight Pictures, in Video both are very close, finaly it´s a Question of Android or iOS😎

I feel the iPhone 12 is the better camera. While it costs more there is noticeable differences in daylight with more vibrant and brighter colors from the iPhone. The pixel 4a (5G) can not compete.
Always in the eye of the beholder. iPhone is great, but I personally feel the Pixel competes very well.
