In one of your videos you said to put hanging baskets in a bucket of water. They'll absorb the water thru the cocco liner. This has saved my hanging baskets in this hot summer. They look full and healthy. Thanks Jenny.

I have a Legend of the Small. Planted in an area that doesn’t get a lot of sun and it’s doing ok. It’s only the 2nd year for the shrub so I hope it leaps next year.

There is a native beautyberry (Callicarpa Americana). I believe Pearl Glam might be the imported variety.

I loved my sweet spire until it started sending out runners at some distance from the plant. I tried cutting them off, but eventually I had to dig the plant out. It just got too widespread for my small garden.

I know this was not meant to be an exhaustive list by any means, just wanted to chime in that the Firelight Tidbit panicle hydrangea also has amazing fall foliage! Provides great interest (in zone 7b) from around mid/late June all the way to mid November with the gorgeous color change. 💮🍂🌿 Thanks for sharing Jenny...i can hardly wait to get my hands on a beautyberry and a seven son flower tree!

Good morning, fellow gardeners. I agree the scentlandia is such a beautiful fall looking plant, but beware, it spreads. So make sure to put this in an area that you don't mind it taking over. We are debating on taking it out (sad) because the runners go everywhere.

This is much less of an issue - at least here in New England - if the shrub is planted in part shade ( or very bright shade)

@@NM-in8gf Wow. It is that problematic even when grown in more shade in the south? But on the plus side, you can grow camellias and edgeworthia and flowering apricot…

How deep are the roots? Have you thought of using an underground sheet metal to contain it? That’s how I contain bamboo. 4” above ground, 18” underground.

I’ve tried to grow Scentlandia for the past 2 years, but she doesn’t like the extreme heat and wind in West Texas. I have kept her under an umbrella all summer, and she is still just 6 green stems, each less than 6” tall. I’m debating whether to move her to one last location, even though she will get less water, or leave her and hope that next year is better. I’m disappointed, because the pictures all look so beautiful.
