I’m 38 and am a recent breast cancer survivor. My hair is growing back. It’s about an inch long currently. Although I am really thankful for my renewed health and hair growth, I have never felt more unattractive. I clicked this video in order to get some ideas what to do with this hair of mine but got so much more from this video! ❀❀

Emily, your hair will be different for 6-8 months and go back to your normal color and texture. I wore knit beanies until it grew back but sometimes just bald. Be glad you survived. Make sure you keep trimming your hair because it is dead hair coming in at first.

After 20 years (give or take) with a pixie, and at age 65, I decided to grow it out. It's almost shoulder length now, and I'm loving it! I'm having fun playing with it and rediscovering myself after finally being free of 40+ years in an abusive marriage. For the first time in ages I'm finding I'm not the goofy-looking person I was told I was, that I really am intelligent, thoughtful, creative, compassionate, and yes, beautiful person. Who knew?! My newfound confidence is increasing daily and is, I am told, the thing that makes me the most attractive to others. Loving it!

I was in an abusive marriage for 20 years, and he hated my hair short. My hair is thick and I have a lot of it. Growing up it was long till I was 10, then short and long, up and down until I met my ex husband. He HATED it short. Guess what I did when I finally was DONE
I came home with a pixie cut, and that was the beginning of the end. My fiancé now, he met me with short hair, he never asked me o let it grow, and I was brave enough to go super short
and I LOVE it! No fuss, I either put oil in it or product after it’s dried and that’s it. A little makeup to femme it up and I’m good!
Bless you! Enjoy the rediscovery of what makes YOU happy, for you!

I'm 57 and still learning about all of this! I was married to a man that truly dictated everything in a quiet, manipulative way. When I would cut my hair he would say something every single day until the change he wanted came about. I have been away and on my own since 2008 and yet I still find myself falling into patterns created when I was with him. I think the older we get the less we fear what people think. I have wigs and I might change to a different one every day. They are long, short and in the middle but I can also wear my hair which I always used to wear pixie style. Great video Dominique and we thank you so very much for this is a year of celebrations. For the first time I am buying eyeshadows and experimenting with makeup more than I ever have before and I just turned 81. I went for my yearly bloodwork and was asked three times my DOB because they could not believe it. The nurse said "you look absolutely amazing. In my 30's and early 40's my long, beautiful hair was my identity. It is what made me feel pretty. Then at the age of 42 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Seriously one of my first questions I asked my Doctor was "Am I going to lose my hair" The answer was a definite yes. I had to learn that I could be beautiful with no hair at all. Now when I talk to women who are going through the BC journey and are going to lose their hair I tell them this "When your hair is gone, go to the mirror, look into your eyes. The eyes are the window to the soul. You are beautiful, you are strong, you got this, hair will never define you". My hair has long since grown back but it does not define me and I have done several colors, some good, some not so good, either way I am still beautiful and strong. Thanks for this video, it spoke to me. You are gorgeous.

After YEARS of wearing basically the same hair style, give or take very minor changes, I decided after seeing one of your videos to go for a pixie cut. My hair usually has been a blunt cut with length just below my ears, so this was a real change for me. Fortunately I have found a stylist that knows what she's doing, so 8 weeks ago a pixie is what happened! I'm 71 years old & many say I look a lot younger, they are just being kind I'm sure, but I cannot believe the transformation in my look since going with the pixie. It has taken years off my face & I have had unending compliments! I'm due for a trim next week & will be thrilled to tell my hairdresser what a huge difference it has made. Thank you SO much for all you have taught us, there's no doubt that how you look reflects on how you perform & get through your day, even if there have been issues! God be with you Dominique & thanks again!!

I have fought frizzy hair my entire life. It has been short twice in my life: once when I got my friends to streak it and I looked like Cruella Deville and another time when a hairdresser burned it. I love change, but I was terrified my hair was going to be an uncontrollable disaster short. Last spring, because I thought short hair looked so flattering on you, you convinced me to go to a good salon and cut it short It was one of the best things I've ever done. I love your hair tutorials.

This is my favorite video that you have done. This one really hit home with me. I've worn my hair long for many years to make someone else happy with how I looked. I LOVE short, sassy hair. Back in July 2022, I had a massive heart attack at the age of 58. I've never smoke, don't eat meat, not over weight and drink wine on the weekends. It was shocking. The doctor told me that most people don't survive this type of heart attack. It was a life changing moment for me. I had lost who I was over the years and decided that it's time for me. I cut my hair short and LOVE it! I work from home and rarely wear makeup, which I also love. I decided to look great for me. I'm doing great and feel great! As of yesterday, my hair is very short. A trusted stylist had me go very light and then when it over processed, it was darkened and was almost black...which is not great for my skintone. I had to find a new stylist. She suggested the fastest way to get my hair healthy again was to go short...so here I am. I love the feel, but it is tough to work with since I am so out of practice. Thanks for showing me that I can do it! When I came in yesterday, my husband said, "You look happy again!" 😊

This is a very “get real” talk that we don’t have enough. After 43 years, I cut my hair after watching another one of your “go for it” hair videos, and I loved it. I was also surprised at how quickly it grew back out, which was comforting
but you know what I did? I cut it again. It’s growing out again and I feel so much more free, knowing I can pull off anything I want to try. So thank you!

Dominique we get stuck in ruts. Hair, clothing, make up even what we do everyday. Basically, we quit growing and learning about ourselves because it just gets to hard. Your message is so spot on, and challenges me to check in on myself. I am retiring in 6 weeks and after 40 years of running full throttle I am finding myself exhausted. About a month ago, I felt that still small voice say time to practice healing. Thanks to you, I got in with my MD and getting long overdue blood panel, doing more Yoga and meditation and less Boot Camp style workouts. I got to tell you, my body is recovering in very short time and my ego is taking a back seat to allow my body to speak. I am stepping out to please myself and loving me a whole lot more. You are a beautiful soul. Keep up that positive messages

Great video. I had a tendency in my past relationship to keep my hair the way my partner wanted it. Of course he preferred long and blond...but I'm a natural brunette (dark one as well) and I prefer shorter. So when it was long it was very often tied up. Now, being in a new relationship with someone that finds me beautiful regardless of the color or length of my hair. Yes, of course he has his preference, but he always says "whatever makes you feel good is what matters". He's the best. ❀ Oh and you look great in all color and length. You are a beautiful woman :)

Dominique if you only knew how much I’ve been struggling with my hair or “crown” this last year. One year ago after my niece my trusted hairdresser moved, I had to go to another salon for my simple procedure of baby lights for root touch up and low lights for definition. 2.5 hours with bleach on which should have been 15-20 minutes 😭
My hair melted and fried into rope like knots, with no accountability of stylist, my perfectly long, healthy hair had to be cut ear length as the solve, not by her someone I trusted, my Husband cut what we nick named the hair turds! Haven’t had short hair since Kindergarten 😭 I found a new stylist that shaped what my poor husband cut out with a box cutter!!! I’m just now getting used to it and it is growing in beautifully thank the Lord! But it WAS my identity and I’ve tried my hardest to embrace it and be playful! Much much much thanks to you ❀ couldn’t thank and love ya more!!!
