The housekeeper is Mrs.Hudson...of 221b yes Mr.Sherlock Holmes. "The Curse of the Mink Coat" should be the title of this mystery. He should have handed the paper back to her in exchange for the official verdict, that would have been the ethical thing to do. The judge said read the verdict!
Where did Ms. Emerson get her hat..looks like she is gonna take FIGHT! Some Bird is missing their feathers and is walking around NAKED..poor bird! 😂😂😂😅
I don't like people cheating on their spouses and using them to buy expensive gifts while doing so..nothing good to learn here no message worth sitting thru .. IMO

Around 32:40, has anyone noticed the unfortunate placement of embellishments on the front of Mrs. Emerson's dress?😂 Since she works in the fashion industry, she should have noticed when checking the outfit in the mirror. The movie's costume designer didn't see this? And the actress could have benefitted from a better (supporting) undergarment as well.
@inganorden1816 In as many of these great oldies I've worked my way thru, 90% of the actresses have been very small in that aspect. For the ones that weren't so small, they had support but it just wasn't quite as developed yet. Makes me think of Otto Titsling (Beaches reference) every time 😂
Marjorie Lord sort of reminds me of a 30-ish Priscilla Presley, before that awful plastic surgery. Beautiful women in their time. Actress Anne Archer is her daughter.
The description of the mink put me off, when she said it was hard to get the skins maybe some escaped, thank god The idea of killing an animal for it,,fur is finished except Lady GAGA of course!! I will finish the film.
A no name studio production with obscure actors and it turned out to be a good film. Released in 1948 and that seems to be favorable for film noir. Also 49 50 and 51 before men's and women's styles changed. I thought the 1940s had more beauties and gritty crime stories.
good production , acting , directing but the story kinda turns your stomach to know theres people that trashy and criminal infecting the rest of society . this "fiction" us surely a glossed over version of the real nasty that people succumb to
another movie that was shut off before the final ending. Why? This means that the person running these videos should be taught how & I should stop watching these poorly run movies.

This is a movie I just picked out sight unseen to watch. Im glad I did; its a great movie and only in one hour.

I guess audiences were more naive back then, but no prosecutor would allow a personal friend of the defense attorney to sit on a jury.
