Rodney Perry is a humble guy. Paid his dues. I remember when you use to drive that beat up BMW. He has come a long way. I first met him at the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition. We miss you in Los Angeles your weekly comedy show you hosted at the Hollywood casino was so lit.

I was not only in the bay area competition ,,, about the 4 the year ,,I was in the staff with Tony Spires ,,,, "Full Circle Entertainment *" ,,they started in theater first with Tony and Donald lacy / Laura Hayes , Kesha Waters,,,,, ,,,, ,, the first years , Lewis Diks win it all at SF State ,, the second year I was still on the staff and mark Curry killed it bring from Oakland and working at " Pay N Save" in Berkeley ,,he won every week because the crowns was crazy him ,, I was there !,,,, Unless my memory doesn't serve me at the moment ,,Mark Curry did win !!!!! I remember all the comedians from " Simply Marvelous , Michael Booker, Ricky Harris ( he lost, RIP) TP Hernes/ Arnez J , etc, etc, etc ,, Lunelle was doing alot of " Soul Beat " stuff and comedy and Jamie's fox came along and hooked up with Marcus King and Jamie was in the bay area comedy competition ( Marcus is also who I knew) ,,,,, I remember Rodney Perry from Oakland doing stand up as we group Stage force was the headliner at every club and Rodney opened for my act,,,, everybody started heading to LA ,,and tony Spires ( great business mind had connects to " amature might at the Apollo , which why mark Curry hosted it because he won the bay area competition ,,,I worked with Mark Curry at " Pay N Save at eastmont mall , then mark transfered to the Berkeley store ,,he was always joking in the job but had never did stand up ,,, on Halloween after work we all got in cars to go to Jack London Square to a place where you had to have a costume to get in ,,,, I was a cow boy and Mark simply cane as a " Nerd ,,with glasses with tape around them ,,that was his whole costume ( he was the first Steve ircle ,,,,, they were giving a first place prize for the person with the best costume so they brought each person to the stage ,,, Mary went to the stage and won because he made the crowd laugh so hard acting like a nerd and all he had was glasses ,,,,that's when he decided he wanted to do comedy ,,,years later On "Hanging With Mr. Cooper , Mary actually did that same nerd, Goofy character , and many times after,, ,I met Rodney Perry in 1994 in Oakland doing comedy ,,, I moved to LA in 97 to work for Eddie Murphy for the next 22 as actor and Stunt double ,etc ,,, Donald Lacy and Tony Spires parted ways and Donald was a Dj on a bar area station called ,kPOO in SF,,, now it is so interesting seeing what became of everyone because all the names above were so hungry to make it and they all were so hard working and talented ..... I just saw Lunelle in LA at Simply Wholesome and she didn't even know me because I had a mask on but , I was in front of the camera famous anyway ,,, I was always the business side or talent side quietly ,,writing directing ,,, but I like these shows because we all have gotten older and done have passed on ,,,Even Don dC curry was close to Tony Spires in the start and he was hilarious in stand up ,,RIP Renaldo Ray ,,,,, but the bar area comedy competition launched Tim's of people that made it big way before Russell Simmons Def jam ,,,,, lots of people have no idea of how large " Bay Area Comedy Competition was and how many comedians came from all over the country to get in that ,,,,, blessings

Let's just be real.... Just like today Chicago has always hated Chicago. That's why everyone had to leave Chicago to come up, but still most never blew and that's because the third biggest city didn't support their own. While Lynch has always had ahold of Chicago.

Love you as a comedian but I'm curious, why do you want Monique to apologize to Tyler (I'm a fan of him) & Oprah? For what? They need to let it go, I don't hear black people being upset about Oprah not paying attention to black audience in her earlier years of her show & her network ( until she became friends with Tyler, the black audience was not important).
