My experience with the 562 in production work is they get hot and are hard to start or bearing failure. I understand probably 75% of it was caused by the operator. Some guys run them full throttle with dull chain causing over heated bar which transfers down to the case. The 5 series are beast when running correctly
Okay, I'll put it a different way...a saw that requires you to set the high idle when it is warmed up in order to start on one pull...is bullshit. Also known as a bad design. I don't need to do it on my MS400 or on my 592XP, so an auto-tune saw can be built to fire on a single pull when warm. The problem is in the design of saw. I never red the manual for my MS400 or my 592XP, yet they still start easily when warm. It is a design flaw, and setting the high idle and pumping fresh fuel into the carb is a way to work around the problem, when Husqvarna should go back to the drawing board to fix the flaw.
Boedy, when you turned the 61 around and said this is definitely not the original handle, I started laughing because it was just funny the way you said it and the way it looked. Thanks for the laugh!! Keep on turning them power saws into power houses. Take care.
Why did'nt you just go buy the parts instead of taking them off a new saw i am a husqvarna tech and it just dont make sense to me but to each his own. when the 562 is warm pull the choke up then push back down and the saw will crank better because it is on fast idle, good content enjoy your channel.
I have a bunch of 5 series saws 550XP Mark II, 562XP new filter style, 572XP, 592XP and even a 395XP. The 562XP is the most stubborn starter out of all of them and my 2nd newest Husqvarna. Not that it starts hard just not as good as all the others. Still a great saw.
Mine seemed to start hard when hot, but the dealer told me not to choke it when it’s hot. So thats what I tried, took like 12 pulls everytime. Then I looked in the manual for the procedure: set choke, push bulb 5x, take choke off and start. Works perfect. It’s my first new saw and my first less than 70cc, I love it. Pulls a 24” bar and is so easy on me compared to my bigger saws. And the A/V is outstanding, no numb hands after using it all day. Will not go back to a carb either, runs perfect every day from +40c to -30c
If I had your money I would buy 5 of em! Lol. The bar bounts easy swap. And should have got the 555xp its exact same bore, stroke,cc, just minus the stuffer. Like the 545,and 550xps!
More projects, my head would be spinning trying to remember them all. You’ll need to start a white board to list your projects, progress and completed. Need to be a big board though.
Same difference with the 565 vs 572 as the 555(2258) vs 560/562(2260). More midrange torq in the "lower" grade saws 🙂 i really like the hq 5-series and jonsered 22.
It's like taking a acceptable sport car equip it with goodies and get a fast spun ripper I myself love that quick wind up rev boost with a custom performance muffler. It's kind of hard to fathom that these saws are fast out of the box looked at a cylinder the other day not much work to be done VS older 3 series where you hog port the piss out of them.
That why I only go into the stihl dealer.. I know all I'll buy there is chains and bar oil... The other store near me sells husqvarna, echo, redmax and makita.. I stay away from that store... Lol
At least as of yet it does not bounce off the rev limiter like the 572 s. Total annoyance with the 572 ps elbow the forearm band supports really helped w my tennis elbow

I made the same stupid decision almost a year ago convinced I would sell my 359. Can't do it and still no remorse. As you advise; I piped it before cutting anything and made vents with Outerwears. Pipe was to open at first and loud, saw was over the top and prone to flooding right after a cut. Bit of restriction and the saw found it's happy place. Used all of Walt's tips for the rest - cleaned up lowers, cut the skirt, pop up with .015" gasket. I keep a small mount Makita 6100 with .325 chain for light duty. Can the parts you want/need be purchased individually? Enjoy your vids, thanks.
He pulled an O.E. (operator error)! It was an improper restart done wrong on his part, hense the O.E. label. Need to reset choke first! Can't blame saw when you don't know what you're doing.
Just watching you run that 562 makes me feel like you have been running older saws, and not autotune - especially the hot restart. A couple tips. 1) When starting cold, just set choke, and once it starts, resist the tendency to blip the throttle for several seconds. Let the autotune figure itself out for maybe 5 or 8 seconds, then ok to blip. 2) When hot starting, set choke, and pull choke lever back to regular. This sets high idle, and it will start every time. Again, resist urge to blip once started and give it a few seconds to figure itself out, and then blip to bring idle down. Oh, and last, when making a bunch of really hard cuts, let the saw idle for 20 or 30 seconds to cool it self down. These are great saws - light, fast, and run almost like a ported saw (I have small mount version Jonsred 2260, with stuffers). They love to rev. but do run hot (sometimes feel like they are too lean, for my ear) so be a little contentious about letting it cool a bit after a bunch of long hard cuts. Just my 2c. Oh, and not sure about the 565 vs 572, but I think coil might be different. The old school 365 vs 372 just needed the transfer cap fin cut, and that was the only difference. Walt has a 565 and I'm sure can chime in on that. 562's are great saws - not as grunty as an old school 372xp, but a little lighter, and not off or slower by much.
Oh yeah, and you don't need purge for hot start. These things really do start different than a regular old school saw. They flood pretty easy, if you aren't paying attention to the first little blip, and then take it off choke (but still high idle).
Yeah I think the Autotune runs them on the edge of lean for sure. For my ear they make me cringe sometimes but on a saw with actual adjustments I just always run a bit richer, hearing the autotunes run take some getting used to when your not used to adjusting a saw on the ragged edge, which most of us firewood cutters don't cause we would rather have the tad bit of extra fuel and cooling than the lean and hot.
