not always the best idea... if you fight it with a lawyer *and fail* but keep fighting and failing the judge may end up taking exception to you constantly fighting and losing and end up throwing whatever maximum fines/impounding of vehicle... if you are doing something deliberately stupid like speeding or failing to display your plate, take your lumps and either don't do it or be prepared to have your bike taken from you... judges will not throw out tickets because your lawyer says you are a nice guy and won't do it again... again and again...

Gamble? They're on bikes that can easily reach 180 mph, while the motocop won't even attempt it with an R 1250 RT.

@@busyguy925 Because 90% of the time when I ride out I have places to be and don't have time to play cat and mouse. These two were out on a joy ride and specifically took their plates off so they can't be identified yet still pulled over for the speeding ticket, that is just plain dumb.

Australia sucks 😕 They don’t teach people how to drive, and then they aggressively enforce draconian rules. Everyone has a perception of Australians all being chill, but in reality it’s a total nanny state.
same here in finland, if you get 3 strikes within a year they take your licence for some time then it resets every year. But going a certain amount over the limit they just take it or take your ass to jail if its really egregiously over the limit.

thats 72 km over the limit, in Australia, that would have been impound, 12 months loss of license and probably a court appearance for reckless driving. Crazy what you can get away with in the US

Ummm...they could have impounded the bikes, its up to the cops discretion. THey have a MANDATORY court appearance, so we have no idea how this is going to turn out. THey didnt get away with anything...(yet). I would bet that depending on the judge, this could go VERY BAD or not too bad.....its going to be very expensive and "could" result in some heavy penalties...all depends on the judge, as the court can add charges (reckless driving, exhibition of speed, public endangerment, etc..) that could quickly add up and cause loss of license. THe real cost is going to be the insurance hike on EVERY vehicle these guys own.....

Got pulled over going 100+ on a 55 but the cop only wrote me for 85. That's still 30 mph over the speed limit and 6 points on your driver license. Luckily, my case got dismissed but between lawyer fees and court fees I ended up spending almost $800. Idk if stopping is your best option tbh

Stopping is your best bet. Don’t turn a ticket into something more. You might get away with nothing but you might get caught or worse
i feel you. I pulled over immediately after getting clocked @ 113 in a 55...cop wrote up the full penalty and showed up to court. 4 pts on my license for life. I see why people run now. Im going to spend more time on the track. so when i do squid on the streets...its cya later.

In NSW Australia that would be bike taken & crushed, 6 months on the spot loss of licence for both car & bike. $2500 n 6 points + criminal record for reckless driving carrying a further $1200 fine, + driving matter of endangerment to the public carrying another 6 points & $1500. Court date with possible jail time or all road licences completed cancelled & will not be eligible for a further +2 years baced of your driving record.
That was a crazy long encounter. I just got pulled over 100 exactly in a 65, FHP stopped me ran me handed me my 100 over ticket (not 35+ over idk if that makes a difference) and skirted off took all of 4 minutes. I’m going to beat it tho, he has the wrong Plate Number, Wrong reg number and wrong model year 🤣

Have you ever looked into the Triumph speed triple rs? I work at a triumph shop and got to ride my bosses. An absolute animal and amazing bike.
I once passed cop in stealth car on regional road here in Europe. All good... the problem was i went past him 150kph/93mph on a road where speed limit is 90kpm/55mph. got 3 points in my driver license(at 18pts your license is taken) and 200€ ticket.
Had very similar experience on Thanksgiving day a unmarked mustang was in front of my bike at 70 speed limit zone I didn't wanted to race I was in a chill mood, I heard a reving sound as I was behind I thought he wants to race I waited he didn't go so I passed him nicely going in same lane without changing it just straight, but as I passed he reving the engine again so I just wanted to gat away from the car he started to chase me 1.1 mile later and doing 135 miles per hour he turned on the lights, I told him that he clearly was chase me into higher speeds I thought that he wanted to race ,and he was speeding just as much as I was, he sad I don't care for Thanksgiving and issued a ticket for 1056 dollars, and aggressive driving. I newer passed another vehicle newer changed lane .mother fu. Mandatory court appearance next month ,I have a lawyer now will see the outcome soon.

Yeah, I once got hit in the chest by a bug. It felt like I had been shot. It was painful. I had to pull over. I now ride an SV1000s.

So there is this lovely anecdote I like to use where an after-school day-care facility was having an issue with parents showing up late for their kids... they felt it was bad enough that they instituted a fine for showing up late. Lo and behold, more parents started showing up late and just ignoring the workers entirely knowing they can just pay the bills once they were mailed them. It turns out having to deal with the staff and being effectively shamed for showing up late and or making them stay late was a greater deterrent than charging people for being late. I like this cop. He knows that the longer you have to deal with him, the less likely you are to immediately go out and do the same thing... because if the next time you had to deal with a cop for 20 minutes or 30 minutes or waste hours of your time at an impound lot (plus a few hundred bucks in impounding fees), you are far less likely to keep doing it... that being said, Darwinism is still a thing.

Smart pulling over. Way back when.....I had just sat up after a WOT run. Topped a rise and there was a highway patrol coming the other way. I went up the road and pulled over. He came up about a minute later. Asked if I knew I was going "85 in a 55 zone"...I replied, "Yessir and I was slowing down"... He chuckled and asked why I stopped, figured I would have run....
"Only bike like it in the area ('82 Honda CX500 Turbo), where and I gonna hide?... He was professional and nice. Wrote me up for 10 over since I had the decency to stop.
