You know when 8,000 peoples sing your song ,what a bunch of love ,a bunch of respect to madam Lara Fabian has received from the audience . But all the concert was like that it's not only this song was sung by the crowd . What a wonderful moment for a artist . Thank you again to have listened our queen

Lara was going through hard times when this happened. The crowd knew where she was going through and this was their respond. It was all in the Belgian and French news back then.
Not in the Flemish part of Belgium. Noone there ever heard of Lara. Hard to believe. She's not only the best Belgian singer ever but one of the greatest singers worldwide. But I guess you know what happened after Eurovision.

Lara was facing hard times , both on the personal (health, love betrayal and breakup) and professional (her progress blocked in the US by her own record company) sides.
Her fanbase knew it and wanted to show support and they used this song, her biggest hit, in France, but also in Russia and Eastern Europe, replacing the title” Je t’aime / I love you” by “On t’aime / We love you”.
I love how Lara, after the initial surprise, establishes a beautiful dialog with the crowd, giving them room to sing with her.
It shows how benevolent and humble she is.

“Je t’aime” was written by Lara Fabian and Rick Allison, her music producer and composer. He also had been her boyfriend for a few years, at the start of her career. This song was written when their love evolved to a friendship and speaks about a couple splitting while still having a lot of sentiments one for the other.
Can't recommend enough experiencing these further two versions as well. Totally worth it to see how the same song can morph into different vibes.
For me, anyway, this is the greatest show of " Fan-Love " and respect for a performer I have ever seen. I have seen this maybe 50 times and bawl my eyes out every time...............Lara is the Ultimate Artist and her fans are as caring for her as she is for them....... a partnership that is rare - win - win !
Lara allows the audience to sing the first voice, Lara sings the second voice and dances with her voice around the singing of the audience.
The pianist even plays on the singing of the audience.
The fans are singing ""we love you "" instead of the original lyrics ""i love you"".

Angie, thanks for reacting to this specific video. Lara sings this song multiple times over the years, sometimes changing the lyrics to fit a specific occasion or as a guest on a talk show. Originally recorded by Charles Aznavour in 1972 and then Liza Minnelli recorded it in English, What Makes A Man A Man?. Lara took it and made it her own. It is haunting, painful and beautiful. The story of the evolution of the song is at the beginning of the video. Sadly the only version with subtitles does not include the beautiful piano intro nor her "set up" of the song.
