Highly recommend these over packout for the price.
Gtfo, I have like 15 tough system boxes, wall mounts and all the stuff. I bought 2.0 as soon as they came out and it’s inexcusable. “You should have read the reviews” doesn’t fix rusty tools caused by an overpriced box. I get you shouldn’t leave your tools outside but some people have to work in adverse weather conditions out in the field. This shouldn’t happen to any of these systems. I believe the rigid doesn’t do this.

Hey guys for anyone who goes deep on the research before purchase. This is only a problem on the ds450 ( the one with wheels) if you buy the ds400( same size box without wheels) of either v1 or v2 they dont do it. Thought people who are going for ds carrier or other trolley should know. I bought v1 (ds400) and saw v2 doesn't do it and swaped for v2 as the clip together system on the new one is alot better.
Bad design, it does keep it dry but when you opened it, there’s a open area like opening a trunk of a car, all that extra water falls right in. Just send it back, get your money and wait for better version, or buy a pack out or something way better.
Happened to me. Had a big rain. Oh good it kept my tools dry. Then I opened it. And boom. Got most of the water out but the little I left in the box rusted a good amount of my tools 🤦♂️
Yeahhh that's only on that wheeled big box :( weird. The others don't do it... there's a few weird lil things that didn't get checked over it seems... especially for a 2.0 version
What I would do if you get one of them, get a drill and drill holes in the bottom of the thing and it drains without out it getting flooded I did it with mine when I got them use medium drill bit tho😊
Maybe they figured if you were careless enough to leave your tools out in the weather like that, that you also wouldn't care about the water that would predicably collect there?
That happens too with Milwaukee. And every stackable tool system out there. There Really no way to prevent that except for drying the top of the boxes before opening
I would’ve at least tarped my stuff if I was going to leave it in my truck overnight with weather, or the potential for it. But, in the same breath, let’s say we’re on a site and it just starts pouring. We’ve all been there. There isn’t much gonna prevent that, so yeah a better runoff design would’ve been more efficient for those conditions. Bud, gotta cover the livelihood! That’s your bread and butter.
I bought Milwaukee since dewalt didn't have good organizer years ago. I was thinking dewalt tstak for philippines for my tools here since milwaukee very expensive though can't deal with wet tools. Lol. The point of the waterproof seal on these boxes is to keep your tools dry. If I open the box and immediately negate the seal with a river of water, whether I should shake it off, clean it off or not, that's a design flaw. Shit happens, boxes get left overnight. If the tools can't take it, crap tools. If the box fails at what it is meant to do, crap box. You have a very solid strong point anyone else says different is just an idiot with tools and don't understand they're probably the people who just buy them and leave them with the at never use them
Not really a strong solid point. It wouldn’t mechanically work to have the toolbox be able to functionally open while being on the trolly system without causing a gap for water. People wanted a trolly system that they can open toolboxes while being clipped on and that’s what they got. However it’s as simple as tilting the box which can be done easily on the trolly and wipe off any excess water. Not saying it’s a good design but your standard mechanical comprehension could have easily discerned that it was a possibility that water could fall in. In all honesty the design flaw doesn’t lie with the toolbox but the trolly system. If they could clip on to the trolly with a gap between the toolboxes and the handles of the trolly, then the conventional toolbox lid could’ve been used. Either way I wouldn’t recommended leaving toolboxes (especially those that have power tools) to be left out in raining conditions. Even then proper maintenance of tools is key. Where I work my tools can get water on them from time to time and I just dry them off and put a bit of penetrating fluid on them. It’s just that simple.
