    Dude, I am genuinely so impressed. There are so many genius solutions to everyday problems I deal with. Between the false floor and the hidden slide out drawers, I am flabbergasted. I am already pretty anal about my organization and after watching this, I am about to rip everything out and redo it all. You sir, get the highest of props. Thank you for your ingenuity and for taking the time to post this.

    Absolutely one of the best an cleanest organization for such a small van incredible job just bought my first van to start my own business a few days ago I'm from across the pond. Our typical vans are much bigger then the transit connect not that's the transits is bad but I need space for compound metre saw an table saw so I went full size you just gave me amazing ideas for my set up very much appreciated. Keep the hammer swinging. 👍🤙

    fantastic set up mate, have you thought about a tracker for your van, you've got thousands of pounds worth of kit, had mine nicked a couple of years ago, i didn't have half the gear youv'e got, but it cost me more than the price of the van to replace it not to mention u can't work without your tools, use every security feature u can, enjoyed the vid really nice set up , cheers neale

    Some really, really great ideas in here for storing everyday items. I love the false floor for the levels and track saw rails, but even some great use in the relatively low profile drawers, which is nice because you’re not sacrificing a lot of height inside, but gaining access to lots of little items that you don’t need to climb in and hunt around for. Really well done!
    I hadn’t even watched the whole video all the way through and was already blown away, and after continuing on, the great ideas just kept coming!l

      @@FredD63 sounds like you have a really cool setup. I'm guessing that because you're using a trailer you're in North America somewhere. Trailers used by tradesmen is something that you never see here in the UK. 99.9 % use vans and you occasionally see a pickup. To many vans that I see looks like a bomb has gone off in the back of it . Tools and materials piled up everywhere. I really don't know how people can work like that.

    I love this my old movano is due to be replaced. And I was thinking of downsizing my van. Used lwb Van's are always abused. I made my racking out of those metal shelving units you get. I use the keter/magnussen/ridged boxes. Cheap and very good quality but not many options. Dewslt is my main brand and tough system 2 has some Brill boxes. You also get the proper van racking. So might consider changing. My van is chaos at times.

    • @ziggysrefurbs1885
      @ziggysrefurbs1885  Před 2 lety

      You'll appreciate it so much if you get yourself organised. Irrespective of what tool box system you use. Being able to know exactly what you've got in your van and where it is will make you work more efficiently. Nothing worse than digging through the van looking for that one tool you need but can't bloody find. It will take a bit of time to get it right as we all work differently but you'll get there. If you're going to go the dewalt racking route then really read up on it. Its expensive for what it is and extra folding arms for it are about £60 a pair. I made mine with 25mm box section and the folding arms from the dewalt trolley. It cost me about £130. It'll be more expensive now as the cost of the arms have gone up since I built it. Once you get yourself organised you won't go back to chaos.

      Cheers mate. I'm guessing it all depends on what you'll be carrying whether or not you need a swb or a lwb. I think it's about 600mm difference between the to two. I did have to cut a little hole in the bulkhead for my 1.8m level to go into to make it fit but that's the only modification on the actual bodywork I had to make. I hope that helps in you decision to what van you're going to get. Thanks for watching.

    Crazy they discontinued the tough draws but kept the tstak ones. I get that the tough system isn't as popular in UK and EU but for site work it's arguably better than tstak. Though the tstak has benefits in domestic settings. Great set up and really makes use of such a small van considering how many of us work out of medium class vans.

    • @ziggysrefurbs1885
      @ziggysrefurbs1885  Před 2 lety +1

      I don't think they discontinued the toughsystem drawers. As far as I know they were bringing in a new version, the one currently on sale in the states but it didn't meet some stupid EU law so couldn't be sold here. Dumb I know. Both the toughsystem and tstack have their good and bad points but I went for them primarily because they are tough as hell and for the racking system. It works well with how I work being able to chop and change boxes depending on what I'm doing and being able to fold all the arms away and have a completely empty van if I need it. Thanks for watching mate.

    • @effervescence5664
      @effervescence5664 Před 2 lety

      @@ziggysrefurbs1885 Yeah I do like that the tough system has the racking arm transport system, my Tstaks are just set into the shelving with their legs. The new one in the states is the tough 2.0 from what I saw in Home Depot. I purely meant they were manufacturing them over here at one point and now they're discontinued, so you can only have them shipped over from us/canada now or buy second hand. I like the tstak purely from a space perspective when inside terraced houses though, doesn't take up quite as much room as tough/packout and I swapped over to a lot of drawers so I could just have a tower plonked in the corner as a base station to work out of.

    • @ziggysrefurbs1885
      @ziggysrefurbs1885  Před 2 lety +2

      @@effervescence5664 I didn't realise they were made over here. It's frustrating that it costs £100+ for those drawers. Second hand here or imported in. I understand why you've gone for the tstack boxes. Smaller, easier to move around people's homes. That's what I love about seeing how other people have their setups. There's no right or wrong way of organising your tools it's whats right for you.

      Cheers mate. I'm guessing that you're American. I didnt think you guys cared about how many miles to the gallon you got because the price of fuel is so much cheaper there. My connect is a 1.5 diesel and I probably get something like 45 miles to the gallon. I love my dewalt tools and I love being organised. Looks professional and makes it so much easier to work. Ive had conversations with americans in the past about their love of trucks and they really are an American institution and a big part of their identity which I get. @ziggysrefurbs1885  Před 2 lety +4

      Thanks mate. I try and get most of the materials I need delivered. When I do need to carry stuff my 4 bar roof rack is set up to carry 8×4 sheets. Obviously weather is a factor but I get by just fine. I can actually carry 3 metre lengths of trim and copper in the van ( just). The passenger seat folds down and there's a hatch through from the rear of the van. I know I could get a bigger van I just prefer a small one. Good luck in working for yourself. It is hard work but so much better being your own boss.
