    Thanks Steven and DCEO team - I learned a lot from our conversation about psychology and how we can improve our own channel. You’re an easy man to talk to and your success is well deserved. It’s clear independent media is a necessity in our rapidly changing world if we are to ensure balanced reporting. Although the bit where I nearly cried should be censored.

I was an extremely heavy user of crack, heroin, and fentanyl. I was deemed unrecoverable. But after 1/4 oz of crack a day, 8gms of fentanyl IV, and thousands of pills later along with 15 fent ODs I got clean. Been a year and 3 months clean. Truly a miracle. If anyone feels like they’re too far gone, believe and trust that you are not. We all have a chance to get clean. Realize this and want it. Want it more than anything else and you will attain it, when you’re ready.

And you can reach levels of happiness you have never experienced from any drug. Be kind to yourself, praise your courage and never ever give up the dreams you may have wanted before addiction swerved your path. Such a great interview. Steven, you make your interviewers dance in a genuine heartfelt way. I love how you share how you relate. I can now put Russell in the category of "my people". He's a philosopher, a comedian, a wisdom heart. I agree with the necessity of being conscious. That's where I am learning to stand. Listening to Russell is so supportive for me. He is a mentor. I learned more about him today. ( and me) I want to listen again. Thank you!

Narcissistic personality disorder leads to abuse of everyone in the circle. Hmm. Many times Russel has told people to shut up about their own drug addiction while pretending he is a reformed addict. 😊

      Except his channel has now become an echo-chamber. He has a clear business model - rope in the right-wing Americans. I don't mean that the current "left" are good by that statement. Note what topics he doesn't address that are of huge importance - you'll see those are no-go or uninteresting topics for his chosen audience. He has been spreading some nonsense of late. Oh my goodness. Russell just perfectly described my feelings when he said 'I realised I'd been having an anxiety attack my whole life'. I may have been happy when I was very little, but I can't remember. From the time/age when I can remember, my parrents fought, finally split & it took 8 years for them to get divorced, because of a change in the law, halfway through the proceedings. It was a very turbulent time. My Mum left home a couple of months before I started senior school. We moved home that year too. Internally I was a mess. This was 1968 & suddenly, the boys in big school were scary. They bullied the girls, a lot. They sexually assaulted us on a regular basis & we never thought to report it, because nobody had ever taught us that it was wrong. So we put up with it, even though it made me a bag of nerves every day at school. Then, when I was 15, I was raped by a middle aged Man. I became pregnant & had to undergo an abortion. Another very traumatic time. I was living with my Mum by then & kept what happened from my Dad, as he would have blamed her. And finally, I will get to the point (apologies for the long ramble). Ever since then, I have always been on edge, because you never know what is around the next corner. I've lived my life in perpetual fear. It didn't necessarily show on the outside, in fact I was a bit of a clown. But I noticed the fear for the first time, while sitting on a bus. I suddenly became aware that I was clenching my buttocks. Then realised that every part of me was tense. It was like a type of locked in syndrome. Throughout my life, that has never changed. If I put my mind to relax, I can manage it, but my default position is where every part of my body is tense. It's no wonder that I suffer a lot of cramps. The rape was followed by disastrous relationships & now, I am 66 & what Russell just said, was a sort of lightbulb moment. I've obviously always known that I've been on edge for what seems like forever, but hearing his words, just summed it up perfectly.

    I have some similarities w Russell as many do. Addict from age 14, entered rehab at 30, was a cutter, had a series of relapses over several yrs at lesser and lesser intervals until eventually doing my last drug in April of 2019. People who I still see in that cycle I just pray that they can survive themselves...or long enough to finally achieve clarity, which does not come until it comes. I'm now 56. Now I sit in frequent fear, depression, anxiety, but I prefer it to being on drugs. Maybe somewhat like RB I found some salvation in reading...everything. Fiction, non fiction. A few thousand pages a month on average. Today when I went to get my coffee, the clerk at 7-11 told me he picked up extra shifts because he knows he is a danger to himself when not working. Hats off to that man and I pray for calm and solace for him.

      @KathyHussey063 Před 7 měsíci +11

      @@YourMomsBestBoyfriend Really EVERY one of us is a "one of a kind", literally,, at least as far as we know right now. (There could be multi dimensions wth many more versions of the same ME existing in each 1 for all I know.... but....) So there's nothing wrong with seeing any person as a one of a kind, because they are.
      #2) EVEN every addict is still an individual who's FAR different from every other addict or person. "Addict" is a descriptor of a person, one of them but it's not WHO or WHAT the person IS, it is a part of that person, a quality they (at present) may have. So the commenter above who dismissed billions of addicts, that person themselves is likely addicted to something; even if they don't or haven't ever acknwledged it, whether it's a drug, alcohol, tobacco, food, sex, gambling, video games, phone sex, being on the internet, their cell phone or shopping..or something we don't know about yet. It's mankind's battle to NOT become addicted to anything or anyone.
      More knowledge is needed about WHY all the addictions happen so easily to so many people, because we need to know more about how to prevent them ever starting and how better to help those who want to quit, because sadly in this country there is NO help if you have NO health insurance, REAL insurance and how many addicts do you think have health insurance or even have full time jobs? Even when an addict does have Healh Insurance it's a good bet that their policy dosen't even cover addiction treatment or rehabs, which charge absolutely RIDICULOUS prices to admit a patient no matter how dire their situation is. They'll send aVERY SICK, near death person (oh wait, they're just an "addict" as the guy said, guess it's easier to think like that than to think about how it's a person, a citizen, or a 19 year old that our government helped to get them addicted by allowing crooked Pharma. Co.'s to lie & push heroin level opiods on mllions across the nation, including hundreds of thousands of young people/ teens (on Soc. Sec.Disability Ins. for healthcare here), but then Conngress sat by allowing hundreds ofthousands to die, not caring about the millions the drug has killed, not providing ANY help for citizens whose lives were ruined by the drug they intentionally alllowed to ravage poor annd sick people, to get off the opiods now. So called rehabs send VERY SICK, near DEATH people off to Emergency Rooms, where they'll give them something to stabilize them JUST ENOUGH to get them out of the Em. Room's doors, and bck home, if they have a home... they wake up in withdrawal again.
      I understand the anger they might be feeling, many addicts do a lot of horrible things. I myself have been put through hell in my lifetime by a few addicts who did different things to me or my loved ones, but it's far more complex issue than lumping them into one category & condemning them.
      If you've ever been addicted to anything then you know why and if a person has not & they do not even try to put themselves in another's shoes to see the immense suffering they're going through at all, that most had no idea they were getting themselves into until it was too late to avoid it....
      Well often there are hard lessons ahead for those who can not have any compassion.

    One of the best. Tears spontaneously flowed during the "Your journey of fatherhood" section. My copy of DOAC The 33 Laws arrived today. Gratitude to Steven et al.

    Wow, I'm taken back by Russell's depth and eloquence. I have to admit I knew little to nothing about him beyond a handful of movies. Thank you for introducing me to this version of him. I really enjoyed his perspective and love his faith and enthusiasm. Great interview!!!!!!

      I read one of his books a few years ago and I said the same thing. This man’s mind and intelligence are incredible. You would never know this by the characters her plays in movies. I was completely blown away. Have admired him ever since.
