    Rivendell
Rivendell was established by Elrond in the Second Age of Middle-earth in SA 1697. In the War of the Elves and Sauron, Eregion was laid waste and Elrond was sent from Lindon with a host of Elves to aid Eregion in resisting Sauron. However Elrond arrived too late and along with the refugees from Eregion was forced to retreat back to a valley which they made into a stronghold. This was the beginning of Rivendell. Sauron laid siege to it but with the arrival of the Númenóreans the besieging force was destroyed.
    Mithlond
Because of its cultural and spiritual importance to the Elves, the Grey Havens in time became the primary Elven settlement west of the Misty Mountains prior to the establishment of Eregion and later, Rivendell. Even after the death of Gil-galad and as the Elves dwindled in numbers by the year, the Grey Havens remained a major Elven settlement and the main departure point of Elven ships to Aman.

Remember to garrison Mithlond with great troops because at around turn 80, the AA will attack with a doom stack. It'll be a high-level doom stack, too.
Edit: It's not guaranteed when they'll attack. All I know is that every passing turn after turn 80 or 85 increases the likelihood of them attacking. I've seen them not attack until turn 135.

1:19:40 A little tip to make your units not charge with only the first line of infantry is to double click behind the enemy unit, telling your unit to run towards the enemy. Then you want to tell your unit to attack once your whole unit has started running towards the enemy. I've found that it makes your units charge better and the whole unit will charge as well. This method works great with cavalry and trolls as well.

Eregion is a trap for unwary HE players who try to rush for it in the early game. You need to build an economic and military foundation before pushing out from Imladris with an army good enough to deal with the doomstack that spawns once you or the dwarves have captured KD West. In the meantime, you will need to guard against Ered Luin if they accept a ring. If everything goes right you will remain allied to Ered Luin; you will support and army big enough to see off the AA invasion; and you will wipe out the Moria orcs and stare down Angmar and Dunland, choosing which of these to attack. Good luck!

My good friend, what a great surprise... the truth is that I never imagined that you would take the path of the elves again and more of the Ñoldor!!!
Many times I played and won campaigns with this faction and there are several paths you can take.
Mainly if you use gildor in the east or in the west... I usually try to get cities that are usually occupied by the clans or Bree like Metraith or even further south, they are usually rebellious and don't put up resistance.
On another point, I want to advise you... it is better than in the Imladris area, either be more aggressive in the south or little by little take the north up to the limits with angmar... because if more turns pass the Goblins will have more cultural percentage and its troops will gradually surpass you not in quality but in numbers, choose well by number of settlements, North or South... the decision is yours.
Finally, there are 2 small rebel armies in Harlond, once defeated that region will start to produce much more money...

  • @Felix-lt5lg

Ligizd i don't know if it works for you early stages leather tanner pays back really fast especially in Imladris that is your training hub. I would recommend leather tanner everywhere plus the early spy building. I think they payback their price fast. Bruinost is indeed a good pick since it will boost up your trade with the Northern Dunedain. Perth en Lhun north of Mithlond is a good pick, if i recall correctly, since it has mines. Plus taking it will force dwarves push east and meet Angmar.

  • @nikoszaxarias5200
    @nikoszaxarias5200 Před rokem +1

Hello, friend. I know, I'm late... But nevertheless, I watched the video and you did very well, given the circumstances. The High Elves have one of the most difficult starts, not because of too few troops concerning the surrounding factions, but because they struggle economically. You followed your usual path for economy and infrastructure, which will pay off later, though it needs some time to give back. In military terms, you aere thinking very well the situation, even though the risk of sneaking Ost-in-Edhil did not pay back... The risk was worthy, however from the first fight you should retreat manually, so that you could have kept your units. However, I feel that in the upcoming battles you will prevail, as your troops are vastly superior than anything else around. Your top priority for now is to clear Eregion from the Goblins and later dispatch the army north to Cameth Brinn and Goblin Town - though I doubt if you will have the luxury of that, because you most probably get entangled with the Dunledings. Another thing you moght want t do is to send the accessible forces around Mithlond, a catain stack, and mop up the two rebel armies in Harlond, with the hope for a field battle, which will grant you two Men of the Hour, thus two generals, which can very well govern the regions. I am sceptical about the position of Enedwaith, as it is very easy for them to attack you, so a good vision in Buzra-dum is essential, also the militia garrisons in all of Lindon (aka Mithlond, Forlond and Harlond regions) is also a very good option. Lindon will not be free until you repel the Adunaim naval invasion.
There is no High Elf campaign without my best and most evaluated character. Here we have his proper story:
Elrond heard the news. Elladan and Elrohir sent their first messages ten years after their mission, plus that Glorfindel was out and also sent a note. Agandaur had arrived in Angmar, struggling to impose his rule over the old Witch-Realm, while his steadfast ally, Morholt, was to begin his campaign to get into Rhudaur, which he considered his personal kingdom. Aragorn would have a long way up to his ascension as the King of Numenor in Exile. But Elrond had to move too. He didn't waste any more time, but gathered his little forces and set out. "Our first target should be Zagh Kala", he said to Erestor as the companion of old went with him. "I am sure that the Goblins will attack us soon. After the attack, we counter".
And so they did. Goblin scouts found a way to the Hidden Valley through the river, but then preferred the mountain path... only to get decimated by the archers as they were standing in the line. The mountain path didn't offer too much for a big scale invasion, as Elrond knew very well. And the Elven counter was quick and swift, as Elrond got into Zagh Kala very easy, he simply did the Goblins and the Wargs a practice target for the arrows of his archers. There, he had to stay, so as to gain information.
Things went well for now, as Cirdan managed to secure not only Mithlond but also Undertowers and Buzra-dum. Two good money-makers, which would very well defend the realm in case of the attack that he waited from the Adunaim. Having from the one side Bree and the Hobbits, his only atention was the south, as he didn't knew what the Men of Enedwaith would do. The Gaibseath clan usually had relatively good relations with the Elves, however who knew what would happen in case all of Enedwaith was united. But Gildor had a setback. He tried to sneak into Ost-in-Edhil, passing by passages that only the Elves knew, avoiding the Wargs. Up until he reached the plains of Eregion, where a good army set forth, coming from Moria. There, Gildor was caught and he barely escaped the battle, as most of his army got destroyed. Though Gildor managed to evade and got to Zagh Kala.
"Good attempt", Elrond told him upon his arrival. "Though the plan went screwed, we know now. We need a good army to strike south".
"I also bring news", Goldor told him. "Dunland is about to hit the Goblins. My thought is that Saruman wants to expand north. Do you know why?".
"I suppose he wants the Gwaith-i-Mirdain", Elrond said. "Galadriel told me that his Uruk-hai waged war against Rohan. The old House of the Smiths has a lot of secrets and Saruman knows it".
    Gildor nodded.
A little later, Elladan and Elrohir returned from their missions. Elrohir went straight to Imladris, while Elladan gatheered a small group and went to aid his father. An army of Goblins was outside Zagh Kala, however the general seemed to have no intention to siege.
"Get prepared", Elladan told the captain of his bodyguard. "This boy here is for another reason, not to siege".
"You know why?", the captain asked.
"I supposehe is not looking for something, but someone", Elrohir answered. "At least that's what Aragorn heard. He must be of a high value. Father might know more".
    The captain nodded.

It is nice to see how other players are tackling the higher diff.
I use to dev roads asap (faster army movement and money) and I'm not afraid of plundering the goblins' cities. Destroying the buildings earns you enough money to improve the western part of your empire and then i just sell those plundered cities to the dwarves (or dunedains) more money and they get a free army to secure it.
(and it is quite lore friendly, elves wouldn't live under the mountain, so might as well sell it to those bearded munchkins)
I also like to put towers on all borders, it gives you a heads up of 2 to 3 turns on any incoming attack for a measly 15golds... worth the few turns without governors.

That rebel Army west of undertowers can safely be left alone . It does not attack, and Allies will take care of it .
On one vh/vh try, I kindof did almost the exact same start : take Undertowers, hit Zagh Kala with Elrond after initial Imladris siege, send Gildor east to take Ost in Edhil ( united him with the twins beforehand ) . Even took Burza Dhum . Felt pretty good holding Imladris, Zagh Khala, Ost in Edhil in the East, 5 regions in the West, starting to free Eregion from the gobbos .
But EL took the gift, and Dunlandings declared War . Endless armies swarming the areas where I was trying to move armies ( east and west ) as well as endless sieges onto my most important settlements ( Imladris, Mithlond, Ost in Edhil ) broke me. I simply could not keep up with maintaining enough units to counter the constant whittling down . EL, Moria gobbos, Angmar, Dunlendings constantly sieging - and then even Enedwaith advancing and taking Burza Dhum ( I tried to ally them several times, always refused XD ) was just to much to stand against .
The biggest Probelm for me then actually was the Moria Gobbos having 2-4 Warg units in every single Army they had on the field (some small to mid armies even were pure Warg armies). I was able to deal with them on individual battles, but they constantly induced just too many losses .

By that I mean what version of M2TW and Kingdoms I need. I tried Galu's tutorial for v4.5 but there's nothing about the M2Kingdoms requirements. Do you know where I can find some detailed explanation for that? Or if some of you know, please leave a comm. Thank you!!

Basically, you do need M2TW + Kingdoms . Afaik, you can use any legal version . I own the Gold edition disc version, and was advised in DaC discord to register it with Steam using the disc code, and it worked . So now I am playing DaC 4.6 + AGO & DaC 5 using Steam only install ( you get definitive edition when providing a valid disc code ) . DaC discord is a good place to ask any question :) .

On higher diff the AI do get a lot of free upkeep army stacks...
You can either play on lower diff or accept to exploit any weakness of the game design to deal with that.

Did you figure out why you are losing culture?

The worst thing about this faction is that all units as a reward from a mission will be ships in Mithlond, this happens even moving the capital to Imladris, the unique way to solve this is destroying all your ports.
PS: By the way, if you leave Mithlond, Harlond or Forlond (your coastal cities) without troops practically, the Ar-Adûnaim will attack you with a full stack in a few turns.

@@Ligizd Tired of that, I destroyed all my ports & made Imladris my capital to get there military units from missions. It changes everything.
