Why am I moved to tears? These women are life itself. I've never seen a deck with so much emotion and crone energy. These women are my tribe. I would love to sit and chat with each of them over a cup of tea and listen to their stories. Sadly, since it is oop, I will never be able to afford now. I feel like I've missed out on something so magical, earthly, and inspiring. Thank you for sharing, Candy. I received this today. I was a little overwhelmed looking at each card. I bought it as a present to myself, it is my Son's birthday, 13, and he isn't with me. So it is. I plan to edge the deck. I will probably trim the edges to clean them up, then edge the deck. I was thinking dark moon pulls, sit with the energy for 28days with a follow-up 6 months later for the full moon. The book is full, I find difficulty reading the layout. I might get someone to record for me. So now I want to get some of Carolyn Hillyer music to go with the meditation. Such a rabbit hole. It is the first Goddess / Crone deck that speaks to me. When this panorama is over, I hope to visit the moors where Carolyn lives and hopefully see some of these life size paintings. So glad someone else loves it even though it is 5yrs old! XOXO ETA: I just bought the MP3 of Cave of Elders primordial music by Carolyn. You can listen to music samples of chants and instrumental music. I chose one without words to play, when I play with the cards. Just need some 🍃 now. Hahaha!
Such a stunning deck 😍 I love the background to the creation of the Shaman Weavers. This sent me on a bit of a trip down memory lane, searching out photographs from their festival I went to, I think it was about 2005, I definitely saw a couple of the paintings displayed there. I can't help feeling this deck would go well with Sharon Blackie's book If Women Rose Rooted (I'm not sure if that makes sense!). Thank you Candy, I look forward to hearing how you get on with this deck should you choose to share it 💙xxx
I love watching others with this deck. I don't have it, but, I still love it so! I love how its divided between braids, yarn, cloth.. as someone who plaits their hair and collects quilts and blankets, I always felt drawn to it. 👵🛌🧶 Looking forward to this new moon exercise. 🌚 Love to you, Candy. 💖

This deck is truly something, you've inspired me to pull my copy out again as I've not used it since last winter (I admit I find it a little intimidating as it's so deep and mysterious). Thank you for sharing.
I really wasn't interested in this deck when I saw it was portraits as I struggle with such decks, but overtime I've seen that it's so beautiful 😭 and I can feel the wise crone energy coming from it. I would probably contact the creator about those edges as I saw you said it just keeps shedding even after sanding. It would be a shame for the deck to fall apart on you.
One of my all time favorite decks. I blackened the edges on my deck, maybe that will help with your edges. If it's bad then I would contact Carolyn and she will make it right.

My deck didn't have the shitty cutting Candy. Maybe u can use gentle sand paper to run through those edges... should help
