- In this video I show you how I upscale the top trim on my mobile home skirting installations. I use a wood composite plank trim instead of the usual vinyl molding. This technique makes the skirting look more like a foundation than skirting. It will also create a weatherproof transition from the new siding that will be installed and the skirting.

That gives a very professional finish. Doesn't look at all like typical mobile home skirting! Whoever buys this home is going to get quality! Great job!
Beautiful job! I’m learning so much from you and really appreciate your detailed explanations as you go along with each project. Looking forward to the next one!
Hi, Christine. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it! 🙂
Nice to finally meet your hired man. He seems like a great guy. However, I'd like to see how he does laying flooring or painting. ;) (You're hilarious)
Becki, the hired man is pretty good, but he hangs around a lot. 🙂

@@BCRenovationMagazine Praying all is well there. And family is doing great Hope it is not too hot there. It is getting hot here in SC. Its par for the course. Its normally this hot at the end of July and Aug. at timesI Lol have been curious what did they do about the bridges being out there? Hope it is not a real inconvinence for everyone. Many blessings to you and family.❤🙂
I really appreciate your attention to detail, thoughtful explanations, and tidy job site. Maybe I missed it, but do you have any thoughts on effective ways to plan for an access door i.e. to store and retrieve belongings or building materials? Thank you.
I use 22.5 instead of butt joints---but looks great, sir! I enjoy your content
Zach, 22.5 is a good way to do it. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Are these bored waterproof
Hi, Holly. Yes. The boards are a composite wood product rated for outdoor exposure. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🙂
What are your thoughts on tyvek wrap?
CoREYDAGoD, you see me putting tarpaper under all of this trim, but when it comes to the siding I will be using a technical membrane like Tyvek. These old mobile homes are so leaky (warm, moist air leaking into the walls from the inside, in winter) that I want to use a breathable membrane so that air can escape and not get trapped in the wall behind tarpaper and condense.
The siding will be done like I did this one. I get into the technical membrane toward the end of the video: czcams.com/video/2G8COUHid5A/video.html
Watched all your videos. You have a wealth of knowledge and expertise to share. I have learned a lot and enjoyed them all. keep up the good work! What color did you choose for the trim boards.
Hi, Fred. Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate you watching and commenting. 🙂
The trim paint is Sherwin Williams A-100, satin finish. Color is 2848 Roycroft Pewter.
Nice Skirt ;) lol
What is the name of the vinyl skirting product you used here and where is it sold.
Rustique ribb....i live in tn and am able to get it from a local mobile home supplier....the place i am able to get it from is Blevins
Just a question
Have you ever used concrete retaining wall block as skirting?
Hi, Daniella. I have not used concrete blocks myself, but have seen others do it and it looks nice.
Is there a way to tell if my trailer walls can support a plywood cover, I have nothing but insulation between the siding and sheet rock.
david, can you tell what size your studs are?
Are the L boards a 1x8 pine?
Hello, darr. The L boards are 1x4 spruce. Pine would be good, too.
Hired man 😁
J B, 🙂
