Hi lily, did you breakout from SKIN1004 cleansing oil too? I've bought them already because of your recommendation, but with this video I'm afraid to use it now.. Please help, and thank you â€
Honestly, Using these âpore clogging ingredient detectorsâ was my biggest mistake lmao. I couldnât use some of the best products because a site said that salt is a âcomedogenicâ ingredient đ these are getting out of hand tbh. Not even a scientist can predict how a product is gonna work just by reading the ingredient list.
honestly i think there is a fine line. i always check my products but then i do the research on the alleged comedogenic ingredient(s). i was able to find out what product gave me closed comedones (la roche possay medicated gel cleanser- it has a sulphate) and i wouldn't have known just by reading the ingredient list. of course, you can always just try to product and see how your skin reacts but for many people with sensitive skin that can be really irritating and even harder to fix. of course, even ingredients like shea butter are labeled as comedogenic when for many people, it's no issue. these ingredient checkers are meant to be used as a tool, not a be all end all
That breaks me out, simply cleansing oil isn't for anyone, every cleansing oil breaks me no matter what I try đą Micellar water is better for those like me, even if the cotton pad irritated my skin đ
â@@zaizafunsahir8303 Cleansing balm and cleansing oil are the same. Are the oils, fragrances and pore clogging ingredients that breaks us with sensitive skin đ
A lot of the list is determined by testing individual ingredients on rabbit ears. Michelle from Lab Muffin Beauty is a cosmetic chemist who has talked about the concept of "comedogenic" ingredients.
I feel the algorithm sends us to the same CZcams spaces because I see you pretty regularly! And agreed, Lab Muffin's video is great and details why comodogenic ratings are incredibly faulty
I never breakout from oil cleansing, itâs the one thing that leaves my skin feeling smooth & silky. I always make sure I double cleanse with mild cleanser, rinse off all the oils used. I have combo/oily acne prone skin btw.
I have the same skin type and Iâve been using the Anua Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil for some months cuz the blackheads on my nose cause it to become so oily and greasy. Are you willing to share what products are you using? Iâm tired of breaking out so badđą
yes if you thoroughly removing the oil and makeup with soap after thereâs not reason for anyone to break out. Thatâs def not supposed to stay on your face.

Myristic acid breaks me out in spots and clogged pores. Discovered this after using the Illiyoon ato ceramide cream, I was getting breakouts on my forehead and cheeks, their lotion has it too. Tried it a few times and it always happens. I confirmed it was myristic acid and at least one derivative, isopropyl myristate, when I used my friends numbuzin cleansing oil for a week and got so many clogged pores, it was the second ingredient. Itâs in so many things as an emulsifier! I checked all my stuff and itâs in my curel oil cleanser, Iâve been using it around 2 years and was wondering why I have so many comedones even though Iâm using tret đą itâs low down on the ingredients list. Itâs in the kose softymo speedy oil cleanser too. Itâs also in the some by me aha bha pha body wash and the byoma smoothing body serum, both things Iâve been using because of body acne but actually have been making it worse. I used the byoma 2-3 times a week for a month and ended up pimples in places I never had before, like my lower arms and near the inside of my upper arms đ Itâs even in a curl balm I have!! Iâm just trying to avoid all myristic acid derivatives and Iâm hoping Iâve no issues with other fatty acids and alcohols. I know not all ingredients are clogging for everyone but checkers like this can be useful for figuring out what in a product is causing an unusual breakout/clogging. If youâre having issues with tretinoin creams it could be that it contains isopropyl myristate, gels wonât have this

I used to have this cleasing oil. The reason I stopped is because the bottle kept coming in with a damaged pump. It wasn't just once. It was three differnet bottles with three different purchases. The pump itself wasn't broken off. The pumps were defective. Each pump that came out that spout also went down the pump stem. Eventually the bottle itself had cleansing oil all around it.
