A quality job sir. I could weep for the state of the tennis court, such a shame. I long for cutting conifer or yew again. Had lots of beach and Ilex lately which I don't think ever looks as smart. Good job.
Thanks mate, real shame the tennis court is a mess, agree beech is nice when green, but once brown never looks over nice, iv got a nice big yew hedge at end of the month. Keep the videos up mate 👌👍
@@jasongardener3425 I probably would have been cheeky and wrote them a price up before leaving 😉 Look forward to your next vid. Got a few jobs booked in and it's looking very likely the 20k landscape job is going ahead so that'll be on going.
Thank you Martin, iv had plenty of practice lol, its the great thing with gardening, we are all different and enjoy different aspects of the working day. Stay warm mate 👍
Hi Jason, I love your vids. I’m 14 and have my own gardening/lawn care business and you really aspire me to do more and try to get more jobs as I really enjoy doing it. Good work👍
Tyler Bentley I’m not working for someone, I started doing a few small job for neighbours and then a few people wanted grass cut so I made some flyers my self and found a bit of work. Now I’ve got a decently successful garden maintenance business at 15
What a chilled out video & satisfying to watch too! I have a Leylandii just over 5ft high & 3 feet wide & need to reduce the height. Would anyone advise using a chainsaw to remove a foot from the top or just call the professionals?
Hi mate, good job you did here. I have leyllandi at the front of my house separating myself and next door. My neighbour bought the house last year and did not want me to cut his side as I had usually done. It's getting out of hand that side now. He passed away suddenly age 34 a month ago sadly. My question is, I only have so much green, say 6 inches, and it needs taking back about 1 foot. If I cut it back further than the greenery then do you think it will ever grow back? I dont want to cut it down as I have maintained it for 18 years and love the privacy it provides. Thanks.
Jason I've watched a couple of your videos I like how you do things you make it look easy but I know it's not because I've did it it's hard work but therapeutic at least for me it is.👍
Thank you mate, yes arm are a bit knackered at the end of the day, it's not so bad with a short reach in, but once extensions go in, it gets a lot harder. Take care mate 👍👍
Really nice and level Jason. Those conifers really make a lot of waste. I have a job very similar to this coming up in a week or two let me know if you are free to help.
Nice job👍. Is a cap and ear muffs not easier/lighter than a helmet? I only use a helmet when I have to saw/weedeat, I find that a helmet restricts my vision more. I don't use safetyglasses too when hedging because they always get fogged. However i should, especially with yew and conifers.
I have a hedge similar to this in my garden and wondered how much roughly it would cost a local conpany to get done as I don't have the right equipment to do it myself . I live in Kent
Without seeing it I really wouldn't like to say, in comments (the country cottage gardener) believe he is based in Kent, you never know he maybe close to you and help you out. 👍👍
Thanks Alan, you haven't missed it mate, it's all recorded and half edited, I'll try and get it up next weekend mate, it will be 2 non branded, efco, stihl, eskde, cobra heads 😉👍👍
Great work as always ...how do you dispose of the waste ? Ive been going around 6 months and im torn beetween buying a bigger van or getting a trailor and chipper for my berlingo.
What's the hook tool called you use? I used to just push the trimmer through the big stuff then hook out with trimmer head. Nice straight side and top.
Hi Jason, I’m new to your videos really enjoying watching them. Just curious what areas you work in, and what’s average cost of removing a 6ft conifer, I have about 15, thanks in advance.
lisa waters yeah a lot of conifer hedges you can sit on the top because of the way the beaches are spread out. Helps when you are working on a wide one.
Yes Lisa, it's also sometimes easier to get on top the hedge and cut, on really tall hedges 15+ foot I find it better than working of a ladder. In the UK we call it hedge walking, but more of a shuffle really lol 👍
@@jasongardener3425 amazing, really! And you don't fall thru?? Love it! I grew up in Michigan, here in the States, and we live in Florida now. I can honestly say I've never seen hedges tall enuf to warrant "hedge shuffling"! But, you guys have some older things over by you, lol! How long do you suppose a well-tended hedge could last?
Haven't fell of one yet, but have fallen though once or twice lol, the conifer hedges can sometimes be only 10/20/30 years old, then you can get a yew hedge, which can be from 30 years to 300 years old, nearly as old as me lol.

I could listen to this guy all day. Such a relaxing and untroubled voice
Thanks mate 😊👍
Have to say, what a beautiful hedge. Well done to you Jason✔
A lot dismiss the amount of work that goes into making a hedge look presentable. Nice job mate.
Nice job Jason. That top was a real mess. Looks very nice. 👍👍👍👍😉

Great job Jason, December was mild, was cutting this week and felt it more, snow on the way, I'm sure of it.
Thanks Marc, very mild, but the cold weather is coming, last Wednesday was so bitter 🤤.

Your brilliant so this type of situation must frustrate you somewhat. Great Jon for all that.

My gardener uses that geo fabric as drop sheets for the clippings so they just get rolled up and put in the trailer without having to be raked.
Great work Jason, well-done 💪

What was the cost of this job?
Great work as always ...how do you dispose of the waste ? Ive been going around 6 months and im torn beetween buying a bigger van or getting a trailor and chipper for my berlingo.
Beautiful job Jason. Where do you source the hook pole?
What's the hook tool called you use? I used to just push the trimmer through the big stuff then hook out with trimmer head. Nice straight side and top.
How long did it take you to clean this up?
How often should you trim it? And when is the best time of year?

Could you please let me know when you and Andy got your large chipper,as finding it hard to find a dealer.
We got it October 2018, think the dealer has gone, look at the rock or jansen chippers as pretty much the same👍

Thank you Paul, see you in February 👍👍👍👍
Yeah, I am sure it is tough on your arms and shoulders.
What tools are you using?
What stepladder is that?
You're sitting on top of the hedge?
