Short means more power when you're fighting someone way taller who has the same weight... That's why his punches were so tough on Izzy but Izzy had the mental edge.
Izzy was just more calculated and Kelvin got sloppy towards the end. Izzy wasn't really utilizing his reach that much in this fight and stayed in front of gastelum the whole fight. I wish izzy still fought like this but now he realizes with reach he can run and never get hit

This was such a brutal war of a fight. I would say Izzy's biggest challenge in that division. Some of the strikes they were throwing and landing were absolute bombs and left me so surprised it went to a decision. Both guys showed some next level toughness in there.

Kelvin still has a forever fan in me because of this, one of the best back-n-forth fights ever, 5 rounds of pure heart from both warriors. I remember forgetting this wasn't the main event several times while watching lol

Was very disappointed with Gastelum going fora takedown instead of going for a kill. At that moment I was screaming my lungs out.

Looks fixed to me. Not only did he go for the takedown, but his next few punches looked intentionally lazy/pulled, and he went for leg kicks instead of headhunting.

Izzy has been a different animal since this fight, he needed this hard test to walk through whittaker shortly after. Unfortunately gastelum has somewhat stagnated/declined but that’s what happens in wars, one (sometimes both) fighter is rarely the same

Izzy shot selection when he lets his hands go & the opponent actually comes to win & brings the war, are a beauty so precise & creative, punching with the right & framing with it right after💯
This situation is the perfect example for Khamzat. After this tough and grueling fight Adesanya realized you can't fight like that and expect to win every time due to inexperience. The great one's always learn from the experience of these fights and become better. First they must have their heart and will tested.
Izzy built himself step by step, khamzat jumped the ladder. Also khamzat is a crowd pleaser not a technical striker

I think it's more along the lines of people calling out those who said Khamzat would dogwalk burns in 1 round. People with a brain aren't denying his skill and potential, but there were definitely a looot of individuals who were sleeping on burns and they're just being held accountable by others.

@Zulu Fight Channel izzys 6th fight in the UFC was a title fight….they both had hype coming up. Izzy’s fight with gastelum was a war…..izzy ran through everyone prior to that fight. Very similar stories.
Izzy has lived up to his hype. He has nothing else to prove. Khamzat has so far but still more to prove.
