- In-depth demo of a 2009 American Vintage '57 Reissue Fender Stratocaster in classic white blonde.
Hey Folks, in this MasterThatGear! video we have a detailed look at my new Strat, an Ash bodied AVRI '57 strat in white blonde. A reissue of the classic 1957 Stratocaster. I had been looking to get an all maple neck Strat for a little while, looking for that extra snap and sparkle, and had been interested in Fender's new Vintera range but was ideally looking for something with a Nitro finish.
eBay came to the rescue as I spotted this lovely beast up for auction :D
Enjoy and if you are interested in the Jamtrack or soundslice transcription of the intro music check out the mastertheguitar Patreon:

Love the gold pick guard! Beautiful guitar. Health to enjoy!
Fantastic playing! Great video.
Beauty mate 👍🏻 i love strats great playing too fella 🎸🎸🎸🎸
Great looking guitar.
Best guitar channel on CZcams by far!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!
Good video! Thanks!!
I would really like to have a set of these installed in my strat. Are the original 57/62 pickups the same as the "pure vintage" 57/62 strat pickups? I know that's probably a silly question but Fender will sometimes market two different sets as being similarly voiced. Great demo, by the way!
I just got one from 1987. Needed refret as they were really low. Its black over sea foam green 60s style!
I've a 2011 model, great guitar, I love it !! 🤩
Congrats!
Saw one 2nd hand on line, good price. Watching this just confirmed my thoughts. Buying it ! Ta .
Awesome :) glad the video helped! Enjoy.
Hey! Great video ;) I've been looking for a new guitar with a Maple neck, since currently I've three with Rosewood. I've just found a nice 2007 Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster (50th. Anniversary, Mary Kaye Edition) that plays beautifully and it's super beautiful too.
Bottom line: I don't have enough money to go for it. However, a 1:1 swap against my Fender SRV 1995 was proposed by the dealer (a huge Guitar dealer shop).
My only and main question is: In terms of market value, will I be losing too much money? I mean...I could always put my Fender SRV in the market and after sold, go and find a nice piece of guitar as well.
Ooft. That's nice!
Lovely guitar! Would this be good for SRV songs? I'd love for you to do a MTR for Pride And Joy
Hmm...might not be gnarly enough for majority of SRV stuff due to the lower output pickups. You can always add more overdrive :D I played a wee bit of Lenny as an homage to his 'Lenny' strat with the 50s neck on it :)
No! I bought 56 build in 99. Most beautiful strat, but their fretboard radius is 7.25 SRV's is 9.5. The 7.25 is fantastic for chord playing, but Albert King bends (Stevie's hero) A big no. Well that is my .02 unless you like sky high setups
Are pickups noisy when you want to use this guitar in studio? Thanks for the answer.
No, not too noisy, compared to my other strat. Most likely due to the fact they are lower output pickups, maybe the metal scratch plate helps too. Hard to say without direct comparison to original scratchplate.
Looking to buy one? Check out reverb.grsm.io/AVRI57
is the guitar American or Japanese made? I read conflicting stories. I am looking at a candy apple red that is a 57 AVRI
The American Vintage Reissue series is US made with a serial that starts with a V. The MIJ 57 and 62 reissues from the 80s and early 90s are highly sought after, typically their serials start JV, SQ, E etc. Any modern MIJ should have a ‘Made In Japan’ decal.
And the Japanese ones won’t be called AMERICAN Vintage Reissue.
What did it cost???
It deserves stainless steel frets!!!
How much u paid ?
Sexy that pal, are you keeping the price quiet lol, ?
Mkay... If no one's gonna say it, I"ll say it myself... You know you gotta put a floyd and a humbucker on that guitar.
😀
Definitely not on a vintage.
