#Andertons #fender #fendervintage - Hudba
i cant believe they've added fiesta red to the strat line up. insane stuff. whoever got that approval at fender deserves a raise.
They may have channeled the late George Fullerton!😉🙂
@@jaypeterson7637 They may have talked with the now retired Trev Wilkinson. In the last 4 years Leo was alive he spent every morning with him working on new ideas and talking about old ones. Leo kept ALL his notes from day one in a drawer in his shop. Trev read them all. He helped me build a 53 Tele II ....Yes before the Strat was made Leo thought there would be a Tele II ...1/2 the back half of the Tele but double cut with the bass horn looking Strat and no treble horn or really the shape of the much later Fender Jazzmaster. The head-stock was shaped like the Strat but it was the same size as the small Tele one. I had the prototype made. It is in Fiesta Red.
@@Paul_Lenard_Ewing Sounds like a terrific guitar! I mentioned George Fullerton because my 2 younger brothers went to George's home to interview him. George and his wife were about to have lunch, so my brothers were invited to dine with them.
George talked at length about the genesis of the Fiesta Red color. I would have loved to been there and listen to George reminisce!
I honestly can’t tell if you are being sarcastic
@@davidramos4317 he definitely is haha
The Jazzmaster isn't talked about enough. Absolute killer guitars with fantastic tones especially when crunched/gained!
Correct. One of Fender's most underrated guitars
they are certainly different which is what I think makes them interesting.
@@zeno99 I agree
I don't know why there was never an attempt to create a Robert Smith Jazzmaster signature.
It may be a Squire, but I'd argue that the J Mascus is one of the best bang for your buck guitars out there.
It certainly would be cool to see them pick up in popularity. They deserve it.
Fender have killed it with this range. The pick ups are toasty warm and very vintage.
I played one yesterday and it was hard to put down. I don’t usually like maple necks but they have a nitro finish that feels great. Wow
Thank you for running through those. It saves those of us hunting a lot of time. For the tone addicted this is a wonderful cornucopia of sound. Again it is much appreciated. May the tone be with you
I'm a long time subscriber to the channel. The progress that Lee, the captain has made at guitar is really impressive. Very nice and keep playing and making great videos guys. Thank you.
I adore the new 50 Hz video options that you guys are using. It's so smooth!
Also, I am ordering one of those 63 telecasters! I have been wanting one for a few years, and this one ticks all the boxes! And yes, it's absolutely due to Dan that I want a cherry red telcaster with a rosewood fretboard.
Greeting from across the pond. You guys are awesome. In the early days, the fingerboard radius was all over the place. They were all hand shaped and varied greatly. 7.5" was the most common, but I have played old Teles close to a 9.5" radius that still had the original frets. Can't wait to try this series out. Pete, I want your purple Tele!
I’m such a Fender fan! At 64 yrs old, and 52 of them as a guitarist, I’ve only “fallen” for two Gibson’s - 60’s and 70’s (and many current) Firebirds - and, of course the 335 - 355 guitars. Otherwise all my electrics are Fender and Gretsch. (My acoustics are Martins and old Guilds)
These new American built axes tempt me! And I only have three USA Fenders - the other six are all Fender Japan! All are Tele’s, Jazzmaster’s and those crazy short scale Jags! (I’m in BC Canada)
As a guitar repair guy, and a builder of flat top acoustics and carved top mandolins, I’ve literally owned 100’s of instruments, maybe over a thousand! lol (but true)
I’m a big big fan of the Captain and the Dane!
Cheers! - from a high mountain valley in the interior of “super natural” BC Canada!
I'm so thrilled they're doing 7.25" boards. And nitro lacquer.
They're magical.
Exactly! It bothers me so much when vintage "inspired" instruments have the wrong radius!
If you want the whole vintage packet you want the original fretboard radius, even if some people think it´s unplayable...
I have weird short but thick fingers with kinda big second joints which makes playing very flat fretboards very unpleasant for me, because my joint is prohibiting me from pushing down correctly all strings.
Single strings are fine of course but multiple are annoying.
the more rounded radius is amazing for my hands! I even love it in P basses in combination with a nice thick baseball bat neck!
I'm with you!
Perfect. If you want a vintage vibe fender and you can’t afford or don’t want to drop 4k on a custom shop, these are awesome.
Thanks for the upgraded frame rate! It makes such a welcome difference!
I been enjoying your channel for years and just noticed I wasnt subscribed. Thanks for the great content, I wish you were on this side of the pond.
I will be watching this one on the big telly!! Excited!!!👍🏼🎸
I've always wanted a Fender Telecaster to add to my collection. Has that really cool country sound.
gosh i want one so bad, loved this video
I played one today, the 50s strat and the V shape neck was sublime.
Man I feel like telecaster deluxe is such a slept on model. This one looks legit. I have the am pro 2 version and it plays fantastic and those fender humbuckers are very interesting since they can still get those nice jangly fender cleans and with gain they can sound massive.
absolutely love these guys - and the guitars are great too!
Wish they wouldn't 'talk over' each other...
You guys are a blast, cheers
Love this channel, keep on guys.
Thanks mates! Fender just gets better with the reissue type guitars. Nice!
Just bought a custom shop strat 2 weeks ago, 3 times the price of these. Oh how I wish I had waited 2 weeks. Incredible guitars!
Let me just comment on something that has got nothing to do with the guitars... But a lot to do with the Anderton's videos as a whole..
Soooo nice to see (and hear) the continued improvement of Captain Anderton's guitar playing. Soo good now. I really enjoy listening to your opening jams. Both of you are great, guys!!!
Such a cool jam at begining, amazing guys!
Best of Fender. Fender is killing it this year. Its 2 months away before New Year and still wondering what Fender will brings.
Before I played a soft V neck, the description did not sound appealing to me. Then, I got my hands on one and I absolutely Love it. They feel SO good.
My friend inherited a black 58 strat. The neck is magic.❤
@@gregmize01 That's awesome. Lucky guy!
@@JunkfoodZombieGuns he doesn't even play!😂 He asked me to come over and said "is this a good guitar?".
Not for me I'm afraid, tried one on the slash j45 and vintera, however give me the 50s necks, started out on bass so I'm right at home
Same - the Jimmie Vaughan signature has a soft V and it’s just perfect. 👍
I love watching you guys. I still love guitar because of you both. And miss everyday that I can play. The world has got so tough I had to sell me equipment in order to help me and the kids get through. But you keep me in love with guitar and I can’t wait until the day I can play again. Please keep doing the great work.
Someone link a go fund me so this man can get an ltd and a spark.

You live in the USA or at least England right?
If you´d live in Germany I´d lend you a Guitar and an Amp (nothing fancy, but a very nice to play Squier Classic Vibe and a little Marshall transistor amp) as long as you need it to get back on your feet.
Whenever you´d be ready (doesn´t matter if it would take years) and you can get your own stuff again you can give it back.
I would of course also sell it to you after that period for a very reasonable amount if you like it.
Unfortunately the distance is seperating us quite a bit..
I hope times soon get better for you and you make more money so you can take care of your family and still can afford your hobbies.
But remember, the most important thing is being healthy and having a loving family (or loving and caring frieds)! Money doesn´t make you happy, it just gives extra comfort if you have more than your basic needs covered.
If you need to talk to someone just reach out, the internet is full of kind strangers if you are sincere and looking in the right places :)
@@rolux4853 that’s really kind appreciate that times have been really hard but I am lucky to have a family that love me . Appreciate the sentiment .
Many blessings
This is the best video you guys have ever made, i dont know why. But i feel like i am in such a good company watching this while eating dinner. Im only 20 mins into it, and thank you for the amazing pictures of the guitars youre adding now. You guys have the best video camera on the tubes i think (what kind is it btw?), sound is always amazing in this little hut too and now a bit of tasty close ups also added. Absolutely wonderful. I wish i earned more xD I would see to be swimming in these guitars by tomorrow! haha
Love you guys and the show is awesome and yell really explain all the new toys I enjoy everything about new gear,David Huntsville Alabama USA.
The FINALLY nailed that classic wide range humbucker sound! Awesome!
The 57 Strat is for me. I remember that style playing so good. Fast and smooth. So glad these came out. Got to have one, I’m a big Clapton fan from across the water here, I got to have that 57. Great review friends. They’re all awesome. 😊
I love the sound of that 61 strat..great playing
U guy always have so much and the show is absolutely amazing and informative!!!David Huntsville Alabama USA.rock on guys love ❤ show !!!
Love the show. Danish Pete is off the rails on this one. Both of you are great.
Hey Guys, Always a Great Show. I got my Vintage P Bass in 1987. It Soo worn out from gigging all these years.
I was impressed by the LP Blue Thinline Tele - so I've just bought one from you! New Guitar Day tomorrow!
Brilliant just what we need more Fender Guitars , the same as what came before .
Great Jam Guys.
The Pure Vintage '61 pickups in the '61 AVII Strat are simply outstanding, and I must have a set.
Now available to buy!
That natural strat with rosewood fretboard and large 70's headstock is my absolutely favourite strat look ever. That with a hardtail bridge and it would be my dream guitar.
I'm sure you could block off the trem or get a hardtail
@Timdoeswork I know I can block the trem and that's what I would do but It would be better if it didn't have the unnecessary moving parts that I don't want and need. Also I just get a kick out of strats with no tremolo.
@Timdoeswork I know many if not most of the trem systems and stabilizers, I have for example the Super Vee Blade Runner with their Mag-Lok stabilizer and and a custom build 7 string with Floyd Rose and their trem stop. Although they do give good stability, none give, obviously, the same stability than a fixed bridge does. And as I said about the moving parts, now there would be the tremolo system AND the stabilizer. Just an ease of mind kinda thing. And I have build myself, among others, a hardtail reverse strat which is fantastic.
I have considered Warmoth build, well, I have several other Warmoth builds in mind. I definitely don't need the Fender on the headstock, but sometimes it's needed for futile phsycological reasons. Like if I want a Yngwie Strat or Zakk Wylde Les Paul, then it just has to be a Fender or Gibson with all the pros and cons that they have.
i get you the 70's strats in natural are beautiful. I played a great one from 77 once but it was with a maple neck and with a tremolo but that thing sounded so good.
@parallax3d No, I will not. But thanks for the request.
Funny you mentioned Paul David’s fiesta red strat. I had been looking for an American made, fiesta red, rosewood board, nitro finish strat because of him for a while. I couldn’t find the right one, so I ordered one from Mario Martin out of Nashville. It’s been about a year, still waiting on it! I’ll have to give these a shot too!
My '57 US vintage reissue strat in candy apple red is still goin strong. 27 yrs after I bought it with my first ever wage packet. I was skint for the rest of the month, but I had the guitar I wanted!
Some really nice custom collours and nice models.
NAMM show in the 70's Leo came up to the Legend booth and tilted a Legend amp on an angle and looked at it for about ten minutes- all the while the owners were probably not breathing- Leo looked up at them and said, "nice job boys". Leo was constantly innovating and moving forward. I was sales manager of one of the first ten G&L dealers and he and George Fullerton were all over their company. They are probably watching your show right now and wondering why everyone isn't building better guitars than they were building in their 15 year magic period? Or, are they?
Those designs were so amazing that the guitar industry got stuck on them. I reckon Leo and George never expected that after 70 years, most manufacturers are still copying Teles and Strats and JM
Another brilliant review from you guys. LOVE the black 70 Tele...wish there was one with the strat white tho too... a boy can dream.
I’ve been waiting for this for a couple years! They finally did the Telacaster Deluxe 🙌🏻 and the Wine Custom Tele is great! I wish there was a black 61 Strat though.
You finally got 800k subs , congrats!
That 63’ tele is calling me. Wish i had money for guitars haha. Great playing and great video as always you two.
So thankful you pointed out why the headstocks were darker on this new range. Very helpful.
I have a 57 strat from 2012 and it's an amazing guitar, the only thing was it had noiseless pickups I changed for bare knuckles, now its perfect.
great stuff!
Holy those 75 deluxes sound great. Ive been holding out to find a black road worn but I might have to go for this
almost 800k subs!! congrats guys, but honestly, I'm shocked you don't already have millions of subs lol
my american vintage 52tele is amazing, happy they brought it back so others can enjoy it too..
I have one as well. I liked the neck so much I bought a '51 neck for a project guitar thinking it might be the same. It is a little different, its a bit more beefy than the '52; so similar, but different..... BTW I'm not a parallel fan as a player , so I put in a 4 way switch w both series combos. Grounded Neck thru Bridge is clearer w better bass and treble while ground Bridge is slightly muddier emphasising the mids a little more, w a slightly stronger output. This is the general case for most Tele sets. Fender uses the Bridge thru Neck on models w 4 ways because otherwise you need a separate ground for the plate and the difference isn't huge. I do use both, but either series would be a good addition for a 4 way w parallel in the mix.
As a left handed guitar player, this is very exciting times!
The Jazzmaster looks awesome !
Awesome filming. Need an Andertons wallpaper with those guitars at the back.
I watch your entire videos all the time::: I like them long...
Cool video the prices go up every day I paid 350.00 for my 1976 strat black ,hardtail ,Whiteface with the black single coils !! Maple finger board.
Vintage voiced instruments sound best with a hair of gain on it. They are usually lower output, but are very dynamic on lower to medium gain settings. Notice how the 51 Tele and the 57 Strat come alive with the pedals.
Great walk through the history of fender. Thank you! Alone for this. It is worth to look this video. :-)
Although it is more authentic now, I would prefer, they would go for a 4 screw bolton neck in their 70s reissue guitars instead of the 3 screws.
Soundweise I liked the 61 and 73 strats and the Tele deluxe the most.
Great presentation from both of you!
Magnificent range, been waiting for this, the 60’s white for me every day. Can’t wait to get my hands on one to buddy up with my orginal 77 strat i bought when i was 19😂
Absolutely loved the tele lineup I want a 51 so badly, gosh what great tone.
Save up for one! I had 2 and they're great and imo the best ever looking reissue tele. I personally think the body and neck tints are perfect
Finally fender well done awesome 👍🎸
I have that sunburts telecaster deluxe with the 4 knobs and love it... pete's favorite of the bunch ... it's awesome
I friggin love these two gents
Been waiting too long for this
@57:47 Can't argue with Pete there, that is definitely the best sounding guitar of the bunch today.
Great guitar’s ❤
Jazzmaster is my #1 choice then Tele Deluxe. Can’t wait to try them.
I had the 62 reissue strat in shoreline gold, stunning guitar that I unfortunately had to sell when I was a skint student. I miss that guitar.
I’ve just ordered me the 61 Strat in Olympic white! Can’t wait till it gets here!
Awesome guitars, I love the 61.
This new range looks and sounds very nice. As wonderful review as always guys 👍
Fender keep reintroducing the Vintage Series, maybe they get closer and closer to those guitars of yore? They certainly didn’t with the last incarnation, the outgoing 1
This new series seems very good but I’m very happy with my old (22 year old) US Vintage Reissue ‘62 and the later ‘65 Strat thanks. I guess for anyone discovering the wonders of these older spec guitars this range will tick all the boxes 😁
You're right. Any of the Vintage reissues from an era are gonna be great guitars.
amazing!
Hello peoples,
It’s me Billie, I got my 57, the pickups are bright yes, but the perfect sound is when I put 10’s flat-wounds strings, now I’m over joyed, did I want the 61 yes, but v neck makes more vintage to me, 61 is close to the pro II, thank you so much gentlemen, would not know about how wonderful they are,
Great video Andertons, as always ! Are you still planning to do a video about AV II basses ?
Excited! I missed out on the American Vintage series when it was first introduced, and am not as fond of the newer American Originals series, so am especially looking forward to this new lineup (especially any left-handed models!).
The 57 and 61 Strat and the 51 Tele are available as left handed models (as is the 1966 Jazz bass).
Right?! After the AV got discontinued I was sad. But now look at this.
Dissapointed there is no 63 Tele option for the Lefties though..
@@southpaw335 True; it would be nice, but I'll take what I can get.
The originals are gems too.
Awesome!!
That’s snappy!
It’s a miracle! Fiesta red is back to the line up 🎉🔥
I got so excited when Lee said at 850k they're giving away a Victory V4 pedal amp! I want one so freaking bad but I can't afford it! Lol! Great video as always, Lee, Pete, & Co.!
That was a great initial solo, Captain!
that Jazzmaster looks stunning
800,000 subs is right there!
The captain improved a lot. Really enjoyed this one.
I like the red one - the Dan Steinhardt sig is the one for me!
Loving the higher frame rate in this video! It's like I'm in the room with you guys.
Creepy😳
👀
There's a point where the frame rate makes everything look unaatural
Like it's plastic, or video game models.
can't agree with you buddy, 50 rate always makes videos hard to watch
24fps is the film-making equivalent of the tone-wood debate 😉 (I agree, I think it looks unnatural at higher rates)
Its nice to see a thinline Tele that actually looks good!
What a great guitar!
Not really down for spending anything over 1000 on a guitar personally but those Teles and the Jazzmaster are absolutely gorgeous.
Fender keep smashing it out of the park the last few years - tremendous quality 'budget but kind of isn't' range, mid priced options and top end options, they are really embracing their heritage and not phoning it in. Plus the left handed options are rapidly out classing a lot of other brands...
Yet another new range of Fender Guitars.
What a surprise.
Minor historical correction to what Lee was saying - the American Vintage series actually came out in the early ‘80s and continued until a few years ago when it was replaced by the American Original series. Over the years Fender offered different AV models recreating specific years, and specs on them were much closer than the more generalized American Originals. I have an AV ‘62 P-bass that’s very close to the actual early-‘60s P-basses I’ve had the chance to play. And the early Fullerton-built AV instruments are now very sought after and command high prices in their own right.
The 63 Tele is gorgeous!!! Tele Bass is killing as well.
They look very nice, especially the 60s teles and strats. The prices of Fender's new ranges go up faster than my wages though.
Thanks again
Awesome thanks, I have to have the 61 in fiesta red!
Captain, your skills have really come along! My wife thought you were John Mayer!
Well done Captain…. Better every time I check out a video. Hard to play next to someone like Pete lol.
now that baja tele is something else... finally some love for the maple neck crew!!!!!!!!
That Red 63, mahogany sounds killer, I want it! Dan, TPS, Style Guitar. Super cool.
Yay!! Thanks Fender for correcting the “error” you made of going away from specific year models and proper vintage specs (in particular with respect to fingerboard radiuses). I can see myself buying several of these over the next couple of years, especially the 1961 Strat, the 1972 Thinline (especially in LPB! 😍), the 1975 Tele Deluxe and 1977 Tele Custom.
That fiesta red 61 strat is gonna sell like hotcakes in the UK. I can already tell
I have the 61 Strat. Utterly fantastic!
