I think everyone either owns a Mazda CX-5 or knows someone who owns one!
Cylinder deactivation is also absent from models from some date in 11/2023 and later..IMO.. a good thing
For what it's worth, I own a 2016 CX-9 Touring trim with a turbo. 108,000 miles on it, regular gas and I have never had an issue with it or had to do any special service on it. Mazda's turbo is as trouble free as it gets. I would only choose the NA engine if the turbo is cost prohibitive. Zoom zoom.
Zack I totally agree with you regarding Turbo vs. NA. I just bought a 24 Premium Plus in Eternal Blue (which is a gorgeous color) and have put about 4500 miles on it. I don't plan on buying another car for a very long time so longevity and cost of ownership were very important to me. The Turbo is a great engine and generally reliable, but what never gets mentioned in reviews of the Turbo is the much higher cost of maintenance. Plus you have more complexity which means more possible points of failure.
Also agreeing with the PP being the sweet spot. It gets lots of nice features for the money. Yes, the ride is a bit firm but I do a lot of highway driving and I'm blown away by how quiet it is. By far the quietest car I've ever owned. Fuel economy so far is quite good at around 30 with 90% highway. The only things I'm not blown away by are I feel the screen in the gauge cluster is almost entirely redundant - the only thing it shows you that the rest of the gauges don't is your trip computer, and I wish the heads up display had a little more info (which I understand it does in the top Turbo trim).
Not a fan of the egg on wheels look but this is still a nice ride.
I just bought this cx 5 in april. Sane trim level except i opted for the parchment interior. My 3rd mazda ive own. 85 mazda 626, 2010 mazda 6, and my 1st suv this 2024 cx5. Love it! The dark blue is gorgeous and classy!
A bit old but still a good car. Mazda has been dropping hints that either a new CX-5 or a hybrid powertrain is coming soon.
What a great little crossover from a guy that doesn’t really like crossovers. So close to just being a regular hatch with enough of what makes a crossover desirable.
I’ll take mine in Soul Red please.
Soul Red requires some extra care, that paint code is very thin on Mazdas for some reason
@zaremol2779 it also has a extra cost of $595 added to the sticker.
@@gailenrique2804 So do most paint jobs that are not white or black, what's another $595 on a $30,000 purchase
Very cool
Zack, how did you know I was wishing you’d review one? 😂
One of these days ill finally buy a Mazda in that deep crystal blue mica.
Love and root for Mazda but this and the 3 really need to be revamped soon.
It's getting redesigned for 2025 or 2026.... on the other hand the rumor mill says chopping block coming.... we shall see... 😊
mazda 👍
Fuel economy is pretty bad for 2024
My only gripe about my 3 sedan is the air conditioning isn't as powerful as I want.
Seems to be a common shortcoming of Japanese cars. I guess it doesn't get hot in Japan.
Use the recirculating button and the thing with Japanese cars. When you drive the air gets colder sitting still the air doesn't work as hard to reserve fuel. That's where the recirculating button comes in handy.
Bro you want a better decent price for a new car with zero miles. It’s simple, you go to Florida. That’s where they have better deals that no other states have.
Zach lives in Illinois. Not everybody wants to go to florida just to review a mazda crossover. Plus if you want to spend less just order directly from the manufacturer.
@@FrequencyORDhow do you order from the manufacturer directly?
First!
First what?
38k for a cx5 is way too much. It's a damn mazda. Don't go crazy going for these higher up trims. The extra options are okay but is it really worth an extra 5 to 6k on msrp. Think how often you are going use ventilated seats, 360 camera and who cares if mirrors fold automatically. Shoot for around 33k on msrp and try to haggle a bit down from that trim level.
These cars have a weird smell and I think are overrated.
That's the smell of Japanese sweat when the dedicated workers assembled them. Kinda reminds me of dried seaweed wrap and sesame teriyaki.
This Mazda CX-5 is gem of a vehicle. The RAV4 probably competes directly with this Mazda.
Honda CRV have no chance competing with their disastrous Turbo engine. Hondas are garbage nowadays.
Higher Honda CR-V trims are hybrid only and not turbo. Only the base trims are turbo.
That bottle FAIL sound bit is very annoying. You need to stop doing that man.
