How can i work in the company for comic books in the USA?
Something I learned recently is that you really don't need more than 4-5 panels per page to tell a story. This has helped me not to become mentally overwhelmed by the project.
Yeah, I usually do this. I only make more panels if I want to focus on specific actions.
Where did you learn this from? Did they have anything else to say on that? I am currently studying how to tell a story as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Less is more! After the 5 or 6 mark, comic pages can start to feel a bit cluttered.

I got another idea for you. How about a tutorial on writing stories based on real people?
For me, i feel like this genre is kinda underrated. The simple idea of using real people for a story is such a fun idea to play with.
Some examples like Milo Murphy's Law (the fictional descendant of Edward Murphy Jr.), HiHi Puffy Ami Yumi (the actual band in a cartoony world), Prostars (Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky and Bo Jackson as superheroes), Jackie Chan Adventures (Jackie himself as an archaeologist going on fantastical adventures), Clone High (clones of historical figures in high school) etc.

@@mindandbody9427not if it's a historical figure, or someone deceased, like with Clone High. Though I see what you're getting at, there are still legal ways to write a story, though it leads into a grey area and would require a lot of research into how to keep it legal.
I agree the manga/comic I'm working on is kinda based off people I know but not that I'm working on a comic called broken soul👋
Innocent and Innocent rouge series written by Shin-ichi Sakamoto is a perfect example of this, he based the two series off the french revolution period and characterises historical figures like Charles-Henri Sanson, Marie Antoinette, Louis XVI, etc and the main focus is the Sansons, a six-generation family dynasty of executioners

When it comes to covers for tanks, One Punch Man caught me the most. I like how they change the color of the logo and the illustrations are easy to understand. How there's one character and somewhere behind the character there's a little Saitama, it's so playful.

the hook that is resonating for me right now is Denji’s transformation into chainsaw man. I had to know why he had a dog chainsaw in his heart and why there were devils.

@@MonitorComics I know you have two videos about power system but has either talked about how a power system for a series can be introduced.
For example, hunter x hunter power system of nen wouldn’t be introduced until the heavens arena arc and bleach’s power system for the zanpakuto was kinda introduced in the first chapter but wasn’t explored more until near the start of the soul society arc.
In may case, in my first chapter I introduce what the power system will be like and mentioning the potential name of it. And in chapter 2 we get to know more about what that power system is and what each user can do at a basic level but we won’t explore more
of the complex stuff until later.
I was wondering if you can do something like that and what do think of my idea how I introduce the power system.

Ive read two manga's, First being chainsaw man however that was a cheat since i started the anime first as for that got me hooked more than the volume.
but it was the first volume of Dandadan is where it hooked me on its story. Its humor and story was right up there for me. i am going to order volume 5 on amazon soon.

Monitor I was wondering do you make your living of Saturday AM alone or do you do a part timer? just curious
I guess you don't follow my Instagram or Twitter lol. I quit Saturday AM months ago and they recently came under fire from a lot of former and current artists.
I have always been transparent with people that making money in comics is HARD. Saturday Am doesn't even pay their artists in the magazine, so you can expect to make 0 dollars if you are in AM, PM, or Brunch. The people who DO make money have received merch deals or book deals from third parties.
I have always made significantly more money doing CZcams, selling digital products, and offering services like commissions, one on one consultations, sponsorships and stuff like that.
Most comic artists DO have a day job or a part time job though because it is very hard to survive on just comics alone

I watched the first few episodes of the anime's my hero academia, yu-gi-oh, and black clover to get ideas on how to volume one of my manga should go. If you want, Mr. Monitor Comics, I could share it with you.

I got a question about using certain concepts from another series. (SPOILERS FOR ONE PIECE) so the main bad guy of the wano arc is a dude named Kaido and his powers are turning into a dragon and I liked that idea so I wanted was wondering if I added my own twist to the person with that powers would it still be a knock off, like I mean everything is diffent the only thing that is the same is the fact that they could both turn into dragons(and maybe size)
Sorry or the late reply, that should be more than fine! That concept isn't unique to One Piece. The easiest examples I can think of is Jake Long The American Dragon! That series is all about characters who turn into dragons!

Publishers usually have different print dimensions. For online, it shouldn't matter as long as the file size is underneath a certain amount

Usually people plan out the story first, but you can do either or. You're going to be doing them both anyway

How long should a chapter be? Like, for an action series?
Most shonen jump chapters are 15-19 pages! The first 3 chapters tend to be the longest!
I want to create mainstream long-running series. I need to know how much volumes they for my main manga series to create physical copies for them.
A standard manga volume has ~200 pages!

Not at all! There are no "hard rules," the page counts people say are usually just recommendations or estimates
The only time you have a hard page count is if your publisher literally tells you "you only got 40 pages this month"

The first ever Volume 1 that intrigued me was the first volume of Attack on Titan when I was in 7th grade. I'm now a freshman and reading Hunter x Hunter and Jujutsu Kaisen
Attack on Titan had a really good hook from the start! The first few chapters were done really well!
