    Even though my art has improved over the years, I feel like my digital art has got worse. I think its partially being overwhelmed by brushes and effects. Please could you make a video or talk about ways to prevent your art from becoming muddy? I'm torn between using lineart or making more painterly art.

    Thank you for the tips Dave! Whilst the concept of what your explaining is obvious at point blank. I think its common for a lot of people to not properly understand it upon implementation, especially when you mention about using the background to frame and complement the composition. Its def more common to either add too elements which serve as a distraction or not enough giving a emptiness to the comp.
    The hard part is finding that good balance that makes the image flow nicely to the eyes.
    Great stuff man! Look forward to seeing more!

    Awesome video Dave! I am glad you're back on CZcams. I want to make a suggestion, please use the fact that this piece was done for Hearthstone, put it in the title and you'll probably get more views. This channel definitely deserves more attention

    thank you for all the videos! been so helpful to me. also, your free brushset is amazing, so much variety but everything has a clear use and it’s been really fun experimenting (the larger textured brushes + DG main are godsends)

    good artwork as usual! I find something on this art confusing: the character`s legs behind the dress lack rendering. It took me a few minutes to realize that a character actually wears a golden-yellow dress, I have confused it with a bright casual game artstyle tree log or smth. Maybe it`s because I feel a bit unwell today and my eyes don`t focus properly, but it took me some time to figure out the shape of an elf`s skirt. How about making a tutorial on how to paint legs and skirts in complex positions like this?

    Thank you for great video ❤️ I have a question do you use Ipad in professional painting? Is it good enough ?

    • @iDumpApps
      @iDumpApps Před 3 lety +8

      Zeronis, who was until recently one of Riot's biggest concept artists uses an iPad with Procreate for his character designs. Another great example of iPads being used in professional environments is Dao Le Trong's work on Legends of Runeterra. You can search up his CZcams channel and you can see his timelapse videos. Most of the recent ones have been made with Procreate's timelapse feature.

      absolutely! I know tons of professional artists who just use procreate on the ipad!

    Really cool and good advices, but still - somethin is theory, somethin / different is actualy painting - reality.
    I had that same way like u, everythin got from experiences and more difficulty job/projects - even if i know some ways how to do, still I kept painting on my own, because it was more natural to me at that moment.
    But God bless for u ;)
