I can sympathize with Rose about the necklace being a “cold stone a heart of ice,” and “after all these years I can still feel it closing around my throat like a dog collar.” I had a family heirloom that I didn’t want years back that had belonged to my great grandmother. It was an unwieldy 3 strand pearl choker with a cameo in the front. It always cold to the touch and never warmed as I wore it. Like it had been in the freezer, I was always cold when I wore it. Once my mother said that I looked very pale a looked like I was getting sick.
That’s weird because pearls usually warm up when you wear them.
The 3rd class scene shouldn't have been deleted. It gave Helga a proper introduction and showed her friendship with Fabrinzo. In the final cut she's just a random passenger dying on the ship.

Its obviously played for laughs, but you have to remember that at the time, nobody knew the ship was going to sink...let alone become one of the most famous disasters in the world.

Really glad they did without this. Changes Lovett's character too much. Makes him look way to greedy
+Tom MacGillivray I think this was meant to set up his character arc that was resolved in the alternate ending to the movie. However by this point in the movie, the audience is already invested in the Jack/Rose story and not the hunt for the diamond. Also, with he removal of the (cheesy) alternate ending, developing Brock's obsession with the diamond serves no purpose.

No, you are not the only one that noticed it - since the first time I saw the movie when I was 10 I thought they looked good together in the film and I also shipped them two from the start each time I watched the film.
But in real life Suzy Amis who played Lizzy is the wife of James Cameron! 😊 Who would have thought that when filming Titanic they would get together. I always thought she looked better with Bill Paxton.
These are great however I think they made the right choice for the final film!!

They should’ve kept the part where Rose goes to 3rd class and cut the rest of the deleted scene
IDK the only real purpose of that scene is to show what life below deck for 3rd class passengers was like, but we get that in the Irish dance scene a bit later anyways and it's a lot more energetic and fun.
Should release the entire movie with all the deleted scenes in it like James Cameron originally intended.
They released a version of Das Boot that was five and a half hours long so I don't see why they couldn't do it with one of the most successful films in history.

When he said "You see this right here?" at first I thought about the tattoo on his wrist, as if he looked forward to that day so much that he got it tattooed.

To be honest I was never a fan of brock Lovett he always seemed soooooooo greedy to get the heart of the ocean. Rose was right to throw it into the ocean without ever telling a soul, I'd do the same.

I can see why they cut out Brock's dilemma. Gloria Stuart sounded less genuine and more forced in that scene.
I don't have a lot of sympathy for Bill Paxton's character here. I get the financial motivation and desire to achieve the goal, but he wears his greed on his sleeve and has tunnel vision. Both things make you difficult to be around and make people have less desire to help you, especially if you make it clear they are just a means to an end, and you don't care about them. I think if he got the diamond at the end, it would make for a terrible lesson and a poorer ending to a good movie. That he doesn't get it is great because he feels entitled to it when he never owned it in the first place. Kind of like Caledon Hockley and Rose's own heart.

@@mrpussinboots4252 its a good scene on its own but the transition still works good in the final cut, its hard to decide if i would have kept it or not but they did good deleting the modern day scenes
