I just updated 4 of my installed mods. Yup, FNV modding is still alive and kicking.
Apparently I had used the JIP Improved Recipe Menu and forgot that I had done so. Was going to track it but already had it tracking. Suppose you're right about that "we never even realized there was an inconvenience" thing.

I was the one to suggest to StewieTweaks to have an option to always pipboy to inventory screen.Knowing that it makes Gopher happy makes me even happier! :)
I open my Pipboy for a large variety of reasons, it always being opened to one thing, will drive me insane... XD
I just wanted to say I recent;y decided to try another playthrough of FONV and this updated 2020 guide was an absolute godsend. Thank you SO SO SO much for this if I had money to give I would, although words are a small comfort especially in these uncertain times I thought I would give them nonetheless. Im going to watch every video you put out and like them.
Man, I spent most of the past 3 days trying to get Just loot menu to load until I watched your videos and wow. They are really helpful
why did you waste our time installing so many Just mods when you afterwards tell us to remove them all and use the just assorted mods?
As an experienced modder I can‘t stress enough the importance of keeping within the plugin maximum, which lies somewhere between 130-140 for FONV. I just made a new LOD file, installed it and had to find out, that everything looked broken. All my Ojo Bueno and NMC textures were all over the place and in the wrong ones too. My NPCs had wooden hands, wooden shacks had multiple wrong textures, that additionally shifted and changed. After blaming NV LODgen and troubleshooting I accidentally saw my plugin list at 138. So i deinstalled some mods and merged a few to get to 128. Guess what? Problems gone. These Bethesda games start to act quite crazy after exceeding the limit, so keep that in mind. Cheers guys. 😷✌🏻

The plugin maximum is actually closer to 115-120.
Tgspy312 yes, it seems to vary depending on setup and machine. Seems to be stable now. Skyrim 32 on my system has a much higher limit around 245, strange.

I've somehow never realized that b = Boolean and i = integer in the ini files.
Don't feel bad, I've done some (admittedly light) programming myself and didn't even think about what the b and i stood for in these files.
I always come back to this series any time i mod nv, perfect tutorial using perfect mods.

I used to watch Gopher all the time playing NV as Jack going through the NV Bounties Series and I just loved it so much. Crazy to think he was still covering NV mods for awhile after finishing his playthrough of Jack, although I'd definitely watch him play again with all the current mods that been out

It was a mild inconvenience going through this walkthrough and listening into the just mods getting each one and listening when I could’ve got assorted. But it’s fine. I still like this walkthrough a lot so far thanks.

After having yet again broken my mod list for a game and revisiting your videos to calm myself and get back in the mood to re-mod it, I've decided to take your approach of a fairly minimal modlist with sets of "base" mods that I consider essential, and then only build off of that what I need. I hope this helps achieve more stability and more actual play time. However, I'm curious, have you ever done or will you ever do a video that gives tips on troubleshooting mod related issues? I've noticed that even when mods are claimed to be compatible and may even have compatibility patches, there can still be issues that are possibly created by other mods being involved as well and it'd be cool to see how someone else goes through fixing these things.
Speaking of keeping the number of mods down: how about a tutorial on bashed/merged patches, and how they work with vortex (as opposed to mo2).
Thats kind of advanced. But with the lockdown in effect I would say it is a viable option
@@AdmiralStoicRum Doesn't seem that difficult to me in theory, I just don't know how to do it for Bethesda games with Vortex. I have done it for other games: I remember using some tool for script merging with Witcher 3 a few years ago (used NMM for the mod manager). It just presented a 2 way diff/merge view and allowed you to save the result.
I might be biased though: I'm a software engineer.
Exactly what was on my mind. I am a NMM user and with now trying Vortex, some things are different. I remember making a merged patch and loading it at the bottom. Also using tesedit to clean mods. It has been a minute since I have played with mods. Seems a bit easier now.
@@terryfrome1641 Similar, but I used to use MO2 for Bethesda games (and NMM only for games that MO2 didn't support). Again those more advanced steps seems to work differently than either of those.

I wanted to post this here even though it's related to episode 3, because you are probably more likely to see it Gopher, but Vortex is giving me a "mods changed on the disk" warning and showing Poco Bueno as uninstalled, yet the textures are still appearing in-game; I also have NMC's small texture pack installed which loads before Poco Bueno. I only have the mods in this series installed, and I followed your video to a T. I'm an intermediate mod user, and I'm sure it's not a huge issue, but hoping you might give me some peace of mind on it, or suggestions to fix it. Thank you so much for this series!
Edit: Having Project Nevada installed also makes the game start at midnight after leaving Doc Mitchell's house. I was able to confirm it was Project Nevada by installing the mods one by one. I uninstalled it and used the "Just Mods" in place of PN, and the problem was fixed.

oh god YES!!! i never bothered with the workbenches because of it but with this mod (21:44) i can see myself make new ammo instead of just fast traveling to teh gunrunners when i need ammo!
Gopher, why haven't you talked about CASM yet is there a better option maybe or are you not suggesting a save mod?

Gopher can you please for the love of God make a video about using WRP and WMX and how to do this through Vortex? I can't understand all of the conflicts I get between these and the improved mesh mod.
The Darkness issue was relatively recent. Either 'FireFox' changed something [but other games/sources of videos do not have the issue.]. So something in You Tube has done it.. That is it for external reasons. The last was is some MOD you use [and I have seen similar issues with 2 other YT posters that use similar MODs.

Any clue as to why VORTEX can not see FNV in STEAM's library?
I don't know if it's due to a recent update or not, but Stewie's tweaks currently has the tweaks menu inside the game's settings!
So I don't know if Gopher didn't know this or if it wasn't an available feature at the time but for anyone doing the LStewieAL tweaks, you can now just go into MCM in-game and toggle the features on and off.
They literally changed the name of the mode to "Just Assorted Mods" so they could call it "JAM" 😂that's awesome

I am pleased to tell everyone that Just Loot Menu JLM now works with a controller, or at the very least it''s working for me with my XBoxOne controller

Would you still recommend turning off auto saves and using CASM ? or whatever is good these days.
question: I've had some difficulty combining Project Nevada and Just Assorted Mods. Is there anything in specific I should do? The screen becomes extremely blurry when sprinting and every button in the pause menu is paused except for the mod configuration button. also alt-tab crashes the game but I'm willing to blame that on my old computer being old.
I was doing modding a few weeks back and installed FOV slider, it is working as intended, but sometimes after VATS for example I get a grey screen that covers everything, it goes away on restart. Only thing I found by searching was "a possible mod conflict" as to what it could be I have no clue since none of my mods affect FOV directly. Anyone with the same issue?
Can anyone help me? I'm trying to use Just Loot Menu but it's not working. I have all dependencies installed, the mod is enabled in the mod configuration menu but when I come closer of lockers the menu doesn't show up. I reinstalled the game, reinstalled the mod, looked everywhere but I just doesn't work.
So while modding I ran into the menu greying out and only being able to select anything but MCM configuration menu. Tried a couple things and disabling MCM and reloading the game and making a new save, then quitting and reinstalling MCM fixed the issue. Just posting this here in case anyone else ran into this problem.
Question. Is it normal for my presets to rest whenever I reenter the game? Like the hit marker and indicator keep turning on anytime I restart.
Hey Gopher/guys. I'm having issues running the Loot Menu. For some reason, it's just flat out not showing up. When I press to collect whatever item it is, it stays in real-time but the loot menu just isn't there. Any help would be appreciated via Discord or whatever.
So i've had a few issues with trying to install these mods.
When I install any of the Just mods, my game freezes when trying to load the main menu.
When I install the JIP mods, when I load my save the game gives me an error saying I need the JIP NVSE Plugin despite the fact I have it installed as i've been following your guides carefully.
So Um... when you gonna start your new fallout play through? Asking for a friend

Can't get just weapon hweel working. I've done what you've done but when I go to use it nothing comes up even though it acts like its there. It comes up in MCM and its enables as well. Could it be project nevada?
@gopher Hey, not sure if you are aware, but Just Loot Menu won't download currently, it shows up as "Failed - Virus detected."

using Vortex? show us how to set up FO4 the Right way. I used NMM in the past and constantly had problems with my game and other guides were not clear like you are.

all of the "just" mods crash my system and or don't work. just vanilla sprint and just dynamic crosshairs crashes when intro screen says "obsidian" and just loot menu works but shows nothing in any containers. all my other mods work fine and no in game issues. anyone else having this problem?
Just Loot Menu isn't showing up in Game for me. It's installed, Vortex knows its there, MCM knows its there with all the options, but it is not appearing to work in game. Aside from the mods listed in your previous videos I only have a couple armor packs and a pre-generated LOD for NMC's textures (went only with NMC for now as i'm new to all this). Any idea why i'm having this issue?
EDIT: So I was definitely looking at a locked container and wondering why the contents weren't visible....

ok, so I have JAM installed. but, the weapon wheel won't work and the container loot menu thing doesn't show up. for reference I'm using DarnifiedUI with One HUD. I'm unsure of how to fix this so literally any help would be appreciated.
FYI For anyone else having problems with not being able to load past the Obsidian screen and not being able to get to the menu, disabling Just Mods Assorted fixes it. .

I'm new to modding and have been following this video series to help upgrade my game but for some reason most of the "Just" series of mods aren't working correctly for me. For example the "Just Dynamic Crosshairs" make my crosshairs disappear completely and the "Just Loot Menu" stops me from being able to see the items inside of containers and when I click to open/take item it takes an item like there's something there I cant see. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on how to remedy this problem?
