I just got my Gotrax Emerge assembled today. How long should I initially charge the battery the first time?
Congrats on the bike. I recommend charging 100% the first time. I plug all our bikes in overnight the first time, or until it's at 100%. Enjoy the bike, it's a great affordable bike.

Have you had in experience with the bike powering off while riding it?
Only if the battery dies. Otherwise not at all. If this is happening to you with a full battery, either it's built wrong, has a short in the motor, or a bad motor. Hard to say without seeing it.
How long will a charged battery last?
Depends on how much you use it. I put the battery life in the description. The male bike I believe is around 15 miles if you only use it as a scooter. You can turn off the pedal assist and only use it for hills and will last a lot longer. I ride 2-3 miles a day and only use it for hills. I haven't charged it in over a week.

Almost all e-bikes have a certain rain resistant rating minimum requirement. I ride this one in the rain all the time. Battery compartment is protected.

Did you charge the battery overnight the first time? Or was it exposed to extreme cold? Their customer service is top notch in my experience
