    Hay mate Paul From Australia, nice 👍 set up ⬆️, iv owned a load of dirt and road bikes over the years , and do a lot off off road riding “ the BEST tyre combo BAR none is a Pirelli M21 Rallycross and Dunlop rear D606 . Fantastic combo 👍. I just sold my enduro bike Husky TE 630 and my XT660 and road bike TDM 900 and brought a Moto Guzzi V85tt for my road riding and soft off road and a Honda CRF 300 Rally . I’m 55 years old so starting to back of the wick a little 😂😂😂. Good mods mate .

    Glad you mentioned the indicators - one of mine snapped within the first 200 miles, still don't know how! Superglue and hotmelt sorted it out, but it's not pretty.

    I have YSS kit up front and YSS at the back and have to say its really good its got rid of that front end jarring I got with the stock,, I have the tec cam and this year also got Hitchcocks Big bore kit. Now the jury is out on whether its worth doing..It shoots out of corners great but I,m back to a clatter y bike ,I,m hoping to will setttle down.. Having raided my savings teapot once this year I,m brassic... its a pity cos I was offered a set of excel rims and talon hubs (£500) Honestly I would have rather had the rims then the BB but could not have both.. Chain oiling ,,I just paint my chain with old engine oil every other ride ,,and cheap spray chain oil ,,my chain looks sweat.......regards

      I put the Hitchcocks stage 2 cam in mine. Big difference. Do you have any buzzing/ticking coming from the top end? I can’t seam to figure out what it is. I’ve adjusted valves multiple times and the tic tic tic is still there.
      Do you have any top end ticking? Or is it just the lifters you think?

    • @MotorcycleWrites
      @MotorcycleWrites Před rokem

      @@mikerobinson8734my stock himalayan has a tic tic tic as well. I think it’s just the lifters. They get louder when it heats up (when the oil gets thinner) so I’m pretty convinced that’s what it is. Not 100% tho.

      @@MotorcycleWrites same issue i set them about 3 times (cold) and just lived with it. Motor was quiet when cold then sounded like a sewing machine tic tic tic when hot. I pulled it in after it really started to bug me after a long hot ride and immediately got to the valves to check the clearance and the intake was way loose. I set it to the bottom end of the tolerance and noise was completely gone in fact the engine runs smoother and feels like it gained some torque.

    Just got one! Loving it, but its labouring a bit in 2nd. (On turns mostly, roundabouts).
    However only 50 miles done. Might give the dealer a ring if persists. (Rest is brill).

    Hey, can you share the model number or link to the steel bars (I want to mount navigation on those) that you've got behind the windshield? I find it very hard to find one that would be at least acceptable, and yours seems to be just perfect fitted.

    Hi Deano, I've got a 2022 Himi with 4600 kms (about 3000 mls) and the motor has certainly opened up a bit since new but my question is at what mileage do you feel the engine was fully opened up on your bike ?

    • @Leafster1973

    Thanks for that update. You said the bars where handling drops OK. Where did you get the support? I'm looking for one, the Himmy is the best off road bike I have ever had but I still drop it occasionally. Cheers

    Does your motor have any loud tappet noise? Mine has always had loud ticking from the top end. I’ve adjusted the valves multiple times and can’t seem to get it to quite down.

    • @Leafster1973
      @Leafster1973  Před rokem

      Hi Mike yes the tappets can get noisy depending on the temperature of the engine. I've found that with more mileage the engine seems to get quieter. I do wear ear plugs also!

    • @edwardkaminsky8142
      @edwardkaminsky8142 Před rokem +1

      Hey Mike. Same tappet noise concern here. I have adjusted the tappets 3 times with 1400 miles on the bike. From what I read on the comments on multiple Himalayan utubers, the tappets will eventually quiet down. Sounds like an industrial sewing machine at 60 mph. (22 Himalayan still waiting for the windshield )

    • @mikerobinson8734
      @mikerobinson8734 Před rokem

      @@edwardkaminsky8142 I remedied mine by running the motor nice and hot then adjusting the valves while at operating temperature. My intake valve was very loose which made sense as the noise got louder as the engine warmed up.
      The valves were originally set cold motor but now after I set them with the engine hot the tappet noise is completely gone and sounds amazing!
      The engine appears to run smoother throughout the power band as well.
      I set my valves on the low (tighter) side of the tolerance as well.
      I don’t believe it is normal to be hearing any tappet noise on these motors.
