They have so many authentic food that here in Greece we dont appreciate and consider them as granted
What I actually LOVE about places like these, is that you can feel the love these people have for their homeland.I am Greek and I've never been abroad.There are things (a very few, but anyway) you don't see there or you won't see here but think of this:These people left their home having a sack of clothes and a small part of Greece in their heart and memory.THIS is what makes it incredible.It's not "the Greece as it is today and all over the country", but the Greece these people kept in them.You know... Greece isn't just a country east of Italy.It's not sea and islands.It's tradition, culture, history... To all our brothers and sisters who live abroad, thank you for not forgetting who are we and where we come from
The kind of place every country would only be so fortunate to have out there in the world representing all their local flavour.

As I Greek I have to say ... this is LA Greek Style. Has nothing to do with original greek cooking. A lot of good tradition sacrified for the sake of American gusto which is li.ited to Burgers and Steaks. Pizza advertized as Spanakopita. That is really funy 😎
It's not as you say it. It's a restaurant, of course it would have some of its own unique recipes, variations of original ones. But still, perhaps with the pita bread pizzas excluded, everything else was 100% Greek originals.

Nobody thinks the pita pizzas are authentically Greek. The restaurant serves traditional spanakopita as well, hence why he calls it spanakopita pizza, because it’s not the real thing. All of this food is certifiably authentic to Greeks who moved to the US 60+ years ago. I would know because that’s when my grandmother came to America. Greek food changed in the intervening years, but these dishes are traditional to her and her 10 brothers and sisters.

The difference is, as my greek friends who moved to USA say, is that nothing tastes like in Greece in the US. The vegetables, the meat, the fruit. Because of our greek climate and ground fertility. Come to Greece and you will find out what i'm talking about

Basically only some of the ingredients , can be found in Greece. The rest of the plates are in the kindest term, only inspired by Greek cuisine.
The strange part is why they do this ? For example sizzling feta ? No way. We have better recipes with feta that someone can copy that are far superior ! Papa Christos is very sympathetic, but should hire a real Greek cook ASAP or come to Greece for post education.
I hope people will not make an opinion from this video for Greek food, which is 1000% better than this attempt.

I was raised on Greek food. If I could eat at Papa Christos, I would never need to eat anywhere else in the world...

There's no such thing as greek pitza with pita bread, it is not served anywhere in Greece. It is only a snack you can make, instead of a toast.
