Carlos Fittante never expressed Baroque Dancing better than in this UNEARTHLY performance! No words can explain thIs exquisite MAGIC he displays with the wonderful musicians interpreting Lully's magnificent, elegant music! We are transported totally back in Time! This is so ETHEREAL!
Watch Carlos Fittante's feet alone; following the exquisite Louis Pecour choreography ... To this captivating Lully music, played by these magnificent musicians, we can clearly see our beloved, Almighty Father dancing in this man's feet! And in the dancer's fluid arm gestures we seem to see his own Love towards his God!
(At the very beginning Carlos Fittante's arms open in front of the Cross in sweet, understated reverence; this made the entire dance with fabulous Meriem Bahri period costume, so utterly ethereal) ... Since I came across this masterpiece I now watch it nearly every day! ... And no matter what horror is happening around us, Carlos's interpretation seems to soothe all our cares away! God bless and protect him and everyone involved in this PURE ACT OF MAGIC ... ALWAYS AND FOREVER!
The best way to describe this particular perfomance in one word, with no exaggeration whatsoever is:
D+I+V+I+N+E ... D+I+V+I+N+E ... D+I+V+I+N+E !!!
What wonderful Dancing & Instrumental playing.
This was one of the very best concerts I have ever attended.
BRAVO to all.
I have watched other dancers dancing to to the same music but there is an easy deftness & lightness of execution in Carlos Fittante's movements which others could not quite match. Absolutely enchanting.
Graceful, light and completely lovely. Carlos looked like King Louis himself. BRIAN
so elegant, yet! masterfully executed in both, the choreography and the musicians! Talent at its finest!
Graceful arm movements. Go so well with the music. Wonderful!
Today we commemorate Jean-Baptiste Lully (Florence 1632- Paris, 22 March 1687). The Chaconne from the Opera Phaëton (LWV 61, 1683). Choreography by Louis Pecour, reconstructed and danced by Carlos Fittante.

Marvelous, marvelous, marvelous! ♥️
Sencillamente magnífica y qué soberbia interpretación! La Ciaccona de Lully.
17 dislikes are probably from taxi drivers waiting late for this fine concert to finish.
Oh! What an imagination! Not everyone gets the point at the first reading.
It made me traveled. 1 Like from a correction officer.
Great performance!
One of my favorite chaconne.
Great to see actual Baroque choreography with Lully! too many times I've seen online some "groups" playing on original instruments BUT using "modern dance" and costume for the choreography. Non sequitur. Why bother with original performance practice if you're going to use modern dance? Thanks for this!!!
The most beautiful BEAUTY!!!
Bravo, Carlos--e tutti!

lovely!
When I watch these recovered dances of the French baroque--which I love--I can't help thinking how much of the style still remained in Auguste Bournonville's choreography for the Royal Danish Ballet 150 years later. It seems to me, though I'm no expert, that the port de bras is a little less restrained than the Bournonville style expects, but the emphasis on intricate footwork relatively low to the ground is still there, along with the "bounce."
I find it fascinating to see where ballet derived from.
Bravo to All!!Hermosa interpretaciòn!
Superbe et merveilleux.
Che bello! Bravo!
Amo anche Lulli
St. Mark's, SF
I watched this from your page on facebook. Absolutely love it.
every detail 100 % schitterend ! !
Thank you!
so cool
Bonne continuation.
very beautiful...
Thank you! Cheers!
Congrats
Faszinierend!
Thank you.
Well, Lully was a dancer.

French music is the dope. I love it. Have you ever played André Campra ?
French-Italian
@@thekingshussar1808 Lully might have been born Italian, but his music is thouroughly French...he basically invented the French style.
We make an evening teatime ritual of watching V.O.M and it's always inspiring. We are curious about that spectacular harpsichord with the superb 18th century style painting of the coastal scene. Could you help us with some information? Thanking you, John and Jenni, Murrumbateman, Australia.
Hi Jenni and John, the artist is Millicent Tomkins and we interviewed her and her marvelously talented daughter Tanya czcams.com/video/J8A5R8zaLKg/video.html
Educated people, the algorithm is giving me Lully. I do like baroque things, but don't know anything about Lully. I can google it, but can anyone share their knowledge with me? Thanks for any input!
check about Lully on wiki
It seems complicated. Maybe, Louis XIV favored it as he was a good dancer.and thus could shine or outshine others, as a king should do, or at least as Louis must have thought. He did it pretty well.

Nah I'm not coming here because of Enhypen 😭
HELP
What church is this?
St Mark's SF
Raffinement du baroque français...
It’s totally fey and silly but the overall effect is utterly magical. It must have been transporting for audiences back in the 1600’s these sort of dances. In a world so rough and vile. In fact it is the same as now!
It expresses much emotion but it isn't as fast as modern dancing.
In which church was this filmed?
E' Davide che danza davanti all'arca dell'alleanza?
I love Lully, opera, theatre. I'm an actor and writer.
I deplore the use of churches as theatres....
Anyone who wants to underwrite a capacious space or place is more than welcome!
@@VoicesofMusic I hear that real estate is cheap in San Francisco. Well, uh, er ... maybe I'm confusing it with some other place.
