It's legitimately insane that blizz will make a mode like this, everyone enjoys it, and they'll probably just toss it when we hit midseason.
The mode is 1-week only
Bruh they will see that this mode has viable changes and be like oh well we will toss these changes that worked.

Dva mech squish and Rein shatter impact have been from creator patches. They're always testing and experimenting with stuff to see what works. Remember the Illari iterations they showed us? Those may came back, as well as some of the Mirrorwatch stuff.
New heroes usually get an old, scrapped concept from an older hero that didn't work at the time.
The unfortunate part is even if they agree something works and is a good idea, it'll be a while til we see it in-game. But keen eyes will know what it's from when it does.
So good to see Flats smiling and having fun on Rein again. We’re so back.

I don’t play Rein but have faced against him. I gotta say, it’s great to have Rein be a genuine threat bearing down on you. I really think they should keep some or even most of these changes, with tuning of course
Naaah, instead in Season 20 they will do a Rein "rework", where they'll give him Brig's shield bash, and call it a day.

Imagine if overwatch was balanced more like this instead of the rollercoaster ride of damage and heal numbers with random buffs to just fully get rid of character weaknesses.

Gotta keep in mind that this only seems balanced because people haven't found and abused the really unbalanced characters... which they would if this was the standard game mode. Right now everyone just plays who they want and haves fun. But some of these changes would benefit the game for sure.
Ikr! Their perpetual ""struggle"" to get characters like orisa to a 50.00000% win rate by micro buffing/nerfing is so tired. Stop fiddling with the spreadsheet numbers and actually listen to what your community has to say about the actual ability design!

I’ve been playing OW since release in 2016, and back then rein was legitimately scary to play against. Killing him was actually a challenge that required some level of strategy. Now you can 1v1 him as mercy and win without issue. Hopefully they someday implement at least one of emongg’s changes into the actual game to make him scary again

If the developers were to ever give Reinhardt movement speed buffs, they will have to make earth shatter more expensive. At that point, Reinhardt would become a fully-fledged hero, and not just a utility.

We've had lucio as the top support for rein FOR YEARS. It really makes you realize all rein ever needed was either more survivability or speed. Swing speed, movement speed, ANY SPEED. He's effective at what he does, but he was always too slow for an environment in which he's the sole tank on the team.
Actually, scratch the survivability, he needed speed in order to terrorize the backline. By the time he gets to the front line, his shield is completely depleted, let alone his healthbar.
It’s good for rein and the idea of it in general. The more you shoot tanks the stronger they get, prevent some explosions

Damn I remember that one. It was funny to charge off the map with multiple people at once, but besides that, team fights took forever, tanks were just big piles of unkillable meat which hardly damaged you. It made fights ridiculously long and tedious. It went to show that we don't need number tweaks, but kit revisions.

I’ve been reallly enjoying Zen in this game mode and think they should make that actually his ult lol
Changes for overwatch to get a thumbs up from papa:
1. Buff for reaper ; (semi) insta tp
2: Hog’s pig pen is now a trap like junkrat or new cass nade | nerf to his ammo count to made it more of a break action shotgun role ( short and dangerous) longer hook cd as well
3. Sym: no longer has particle wall but portal gun( gun turrets destroyed in one shot by cass)
4: orisa changes to ult; green energy fences to be used offensively or defensively to keep opponents out or in (has a heal gauge)
5: ball changes to rope can now lock rope and hang from surfaces ( has ability to shoot from locked rope state, spider-man ass ability 😂)
6. Lucio no longer has beat switch, Lucio always has speed boost(just him) and heals within a radius (to all) no sped boost to teammates prevent w key high damage heroes from just shitting on everyone(team game not hero potential shouldn’t have ever changed) also a plus to controller players who don’t have fine controls
7. Pharaoh rework on her gun no longer a big ass rocket but shoots micro missiles ( for those legends who played titanfall the sidewinder was my inspiration)
8. Illari dps decreased but has 2 charges for pylon
9. I want dva to get the widest customization in the game, I believe in 2021 we got loads of hero designs of dva’s esports team. As the greatest video game player in the world I support that she is the team’s ace and should be able to play any role as such her mech should be customized to fit any scenario. Changes to ultimate too, if this customization idea goes to pass her ult should be the ability to change mech customization on the fly (ppl can create pre-sets in the hero gallery for convenience like blizzard has for character skins that they flopped
10. For Reinhart he should be the tankest hero, large health/shield, get that shitty charge outta here if we have to keep it it should be a cc/ movement ability not RNG one shot 🤡
11. Ram is good just fix his gravity shit and make his staff more creative rocks shoot from his staff really that’s the best y’all could come up with 😂
12. Soldier no longer has heal shoot but deployable cover (not to be shot through by either player blizzard its cover)
13. Genji no longer has single fire 3 peat and instead has two weapon modes from shuriken to wakizashi. Sword form changes right mouse click to block (can be used indefinitely blocking a percentage of damage to be determined) (also its only front facing blocking) deflect is full body protection. Change that basic as name to something with weeb cringe like “total concentration” or Japanese kanji
14. Widow is too easy to predict so to make some creative game play widow’s grapple is replaced with zip line which can be placed horizontally or vertically or diagonally. Ability to attach and hold position on any spot of the zip line (she’s a spider she should have an intricate web like ability)
15. Doom fist from overwatch 1 supp killer to ov2 trash can honestly I don’t have an idea how to make him competent after they changed him from dps to tank I’ve been skullfuxked
16 finally for heroes Hanzo personal opinion he should have one shot as should widow but she should have a longer wind up time than hanzo I sort of think he should have a defensive ability but I don’t want him to be like his brother counterpart so I won’t but dragon and sonic arrow is just plain now that we’ve had it for a while psa hitboxes should be standardized off of character body type not ammo type I shouldn’t be an inch off head and still get a headshot 16:37
Even from a little bit on Rein from my moments solo queue and picking him, he was a ton of fun. Emongg really did cook on the fun of his changes to Rein.
What I want to see is Blizzard doing another one of these Community Crafted Game Modes where they get 40 streamers (40 heroes atm) to make changes to their mains, but have one streamer per hero. So say Frogger for example, he and only he is assign to make changes to Lucio. So essentially, it'd be an arcade mode where streamers buff the hell out of their mains.
Flats you gotta know how inspired you made the community with this. Every game in this game mode I go Rein and the enemy tank swaps Rein and we have a guaranteed Rein duel like 95% of the time and I’m having more fun in the game than ever before
I'm new here and honestly i felt like Flats was just a pro at talking shit but damn, this here is insane. Props to the man

When I was running around trying everyone I was screaming when I saw self-heal bastion and level 3 torb and not as much but still scatter arrow hanzo! I remember every bit of these and a wave of nostalgia hit when OW was actually good
Reinhart is now REWARDED for tanked with his shield, so him on the front lines with a broken shield is not just viable, BUT SCARY AS SHIT!
There are a few points where you are actually being a shield for your team to jump behind, getting a second for some heals, then the shield breaks and you go sicko mode... This is fucking awesome to watch
If the shield regens health when not being shot even if its up that would help balance the speed
With this and the Mirrorwatch rein changes, I’d say the we could see a speed boost rein change coming soontm
As a hardcore rein main, seeing such fast-paced, and vertical rein gameplay gave me such big, happy smile on my face
i did the same it was funny to watch the random deaths with bastion back line
Even if he's not killing people all the time, having Reinhardt be able to remain a consistent presence on the front and not him being a shieldbot into respawn hero is super nice to see
I honestly think this could be a live buff if there's something like a lower shield health but reduced shield health regen or something
I think 99% of the changes are actually so good specially on the tanks side but also on the supports and dps ofc there are some like Torb or Kiri/Zen that might be too op but Im pretty sure that those changes are better than the current overwatch. (Im a ball main I NEED THAT DOUBLE SLAM PLS BLIZZARD ITS SO FUN)
Whenever I play tank, I go Rein. He’s soooo fun with these changes because it kinda feels rewarding when you manage your shields and landing firestrikes well. It fixes the problem he needs and makes him not as reliant on Lucio but obviously with Lucio it’s potent.
God I love this mode especially all the old abilities they brought back made me miss 6v6 sooo much

i honestly really like the shield health speed boost idea. im garbo at overwatch so my opinion prolly sucks but i feel like it helps rein a lot in matchups that shred his shield like bastion, mauga, etc. like it lets him get speed faster if they do shoot him and then if he loses shield he actually has an escape option rather than just get obliterated
as a Brig main, watching you flick your shield like that fills me with jealous rage.
You know you can flick your shield too as brig right !? But you don't have the same amount of shield available. But I do it all the time
You know that little passive Genji and Tracer have where they move at 6 meters per second when everyone else moves at 5.5?
Reinhardt should have that passive. Just in the base game, Reinhardt should be 9% faster at minimum.

Been playing a lot of the patch so far, and I've really been enjoying Reinhardt swinging his hammer around like an oversized tennis racket.
I love how the venture treatment even extended to the creator patch
Flats Happy on Rein is the best version of Overwatch, if they keep this kind of play i may come back to the game

I love the idea of giving rein a brawler aggressive kit. No longer just a shield bot at the front but using shield to close distance and start swinging.
I think something they could do to balance this if they wanted would be on shield break you need to wait for full recharge before you can activate it again, would encourage you to ride the line but punish you if you go too far

I really think Rein would benefit from being able to put his shield up while charging and can push people caught in it at the cost of not being able to pin. Like Roadblock from ExoPrimal
This should be Rein by mid-season, Bastion I think should just have self-repair in Recon with Assault keeping the nade. Or drop the mini gun and have him fire nade at the same rhythm Tank fired its shells.

this with Lucio would be broken. I think if they changed it to about 20-30% speed boost it would be fine. Even a 15% boost would be super nice for Rein
They should make a legacy mode with all heros that gives the old abilities to anyone who got reworked (bastion, orisa)

I played one game of rien in the community game mode then i instantly got my confidence in playing rien again and ngl because i forgot i swapped to qp after i was having so much fun and winning alot until i hot hit with orisas the last 15 game's

They really need to implement some of these changes. And possibly some of the heroes as well. Also give us a new dps passive or give tabks some resistance because it is NOT fun playing tank at all. The old plan was to give a new passive every season, but I guess that's changed.

I havent had this fun since ow1 goats meta,the game is so fast paced and its actually fun to play tank. It has literally broken my illusion of rein being decent hero that everyone is shitting on for no reason whatsoever.i might get back to being a tank main again if the devs decides to move the game towards this direction 😊

Honestly the thing about people being stupid is totally true, had a genji , echo, and doom that would just run into 1v5s and then just die and then had the gaul to say our heals were garbage while he was 3 and 7 shits crazy
I had a Mauga blame me for not healing them while charging in and dying to everyone on high ground in Paraíso second point. He shut up after I told him to see the scoreboard where myself and the other supp had 16k heals while the enemy supps had 10k after one round.
The funniest part? The guy said he had never played Mauga before… This was a comp game btw. He even added “but you didn’t nano me on third point where we would’ve won, so we all make mistakes.” I was speechless lol.
the most fun i've had in this mode is aggressively feeding on bastion to get both supports by exploding
