When Walkie Talkies Go Wrong

Walkie talkies can be great tools, but they can also present problems. Try using a code system like the one we share in this video to maintain confidentiality and keep the students in your classroom regulated.
Here are the codes:
Red = medical situation
Yellow = behavioral situation
Green = environmental or safety situation
1 = not very urgent
2 = semi-urgent
3 = urgent
So, for example, if you have a classroom of kindergarteners and one peed her pants, you could pick up the walkie talkie and just say, “Red two” - and the school nurse will know that there is a semi-urgent situation that needs her attention, without the other students overhearing what happened.
