IU is the best soloist with live performance
Being able to attend IU's concert and experiencing her magic for 4 hours and 30 minutes is the best thing that ever happened in my 27 years of existence. Been to dozens of concerts from western artists, our local artists and handful of kpop artists but no one holds a candle to the experience i felt in her show.
you can see how much energy IU gives her fans in her concerts.
she has such great stage presence and makes it seem like she’s seeing just for you even though there’s 30000 people in the arena.
You’ll fall deeper in love with her if you actually understand her lyrics😭 the meaning behind her songs is so beautiful
IU did her 12th anniversary last year on Sketchbook, a Korean tv show built around live performances. Sketchbook does not allow lip syncing, or any tracks. Everything you hear is done on stage. That show, aired on 9/18/21, was 100 minutes of live IU. She even did an unreleased song, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar. She drove herself to the limits rehearsing for it.
Also, IU is a huge fan of Corinne Bailey Rae! She did an opening for Bailey’s concert in Korea years ago and in IU’s song Palette, she also mentioned “I still like Corinne’s music” in the first verse :)

Hold my Hand was IU's first official written and composed song. She was around 17 or 18 at that time.
OMG. Been waiting for this! I feel you when you said that blueming is not the type of song that you want to listen too on a daily basis. But when I heard it live, my ghad! It hits very different. Im so obsessed with it. Her live vocals is always captivating. My ghad! I can't express how much I love IU. I stan her since 2013 and since then I can't stop listening to her songs like literally every day. She's part of my daily life.

IU definitely does almost every genre of music. You can try listening to “Jam Jam”! Her vocal style there really fits the lyrics. You can also try listening to “Glasses”, which I personally love so much. As an album, I love the album named “Modern Times - Epilogue”, which contains songs heavily influenced by swing, jazz, latin pop and folk (these styles are not much done by K-pop artists).
For some acoustic/ballad songs, I firstly recommend “Through the Night”, which is one of the biggest hits in the past decade. “Secret Garden” is another favourite of mine cuz it really shows how pretty her voice tone is 😌 Lastly, “above the time” is an insanely hard song to sing so you might have fun time analysing the vocals hahaha. Even IU talked about how hard it is to sing live since there isn’t any breaks in the middle of each phrase.

i love how you mentioned corinne!!! iu's always listed corinne as one of her lifetime inspirations for music, and i remember thinking to myself that the visitor is the song best illustrating how much influence corinne has had on her music style when i first heard it. her voice too sounds a bit similar to corinne's here imo. you should check out 4am by iu!!! corinne composed that for iu when she visited korea for a concert back in 2011. :)

iu compose and write the lyrics of the visitors. IU is a huge fan of Corrine Bailey, she's IU early influence in music especially in learning the guitar. Corrine even compose and arrange a song for IU which IU wrote the lyrics, its tittled 4AM from her Last Fantasy album.

Insane is the right word brother. After I discovered IU, I was blown away that music could take these directions. Also, many of her songs were actually written and composed by her. To me, she is like Paul McCartney or Elvis Presley or Michael Jackson or any of those all time greats ever.

The Visitor was arranged by JukJae, the guitarist. If you watch Begin Again season 3 (Taeyeon's band) or season 4, you'll meet JukJae. He is amazing, and he is a songwriter also. He is currently a solo artist on Antenna.

Did you mention Corinne Bailey Rae?? She's actually one of IU's fave singer! They met before when IU was just rookie-ish. IU even performed in Corinne's concert in SK before! They also have a song together, it's called 4am which is included in IU's Last Fantasy album, IU wrote the lyrics and the music and arrangement is by Corinne! She also said in her song Palette (title track of her album Palette) that she still likes and enjoy Corinne's songs! I'm so surprised you mentioned Corinne made me all happy!

1. Good day (it's the song that rise her to massive stardom as she hits 3 high notes in that song)
2. My sea (pls watch it with the lyrics, it's so meaningful and fun fact she hits the highest note in that melody with only 1 take in the recording studio #Queen)

This year's concert is also sold out .There were 400,000 people waiting for online reservations for this year's concert. It will be performed on September 17 and 18 in Korea
I love how happily that concert started, but unfortunately it ended with tragic news and she had very hard time finishing it because of the news about her friend.
