    About to start my first bike build and your instructions are clear and concise. I've saved them in a 'how to build' file - thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    A top tip if you have GRX with cross levers fitted too - don’t forget to give them a squeeze at the same time as the brake levers to get any air out of that area too. They’re easily overlooked as I found out the hard way 😏

    Could you do a video on Hope RX4 caliper alignment? I have the rear flatmount and it is a nightmare to get aligned.

    Will this work on grx800 shifters and grx calipers I thought they only bleed one way?

    Question - what is the problem if it feels hard to pull brakes (hydaulic brakes)?

  • @carefulsum

    Could you have done it the other way? Bleeding by pushing new brake fluid from the caliper using a syringe into the bleed cup...will that work too?

      i think this method its easier to suck any bubbles out the calliper where they tend to get stuck.

    great video very helpful like all your videos, I have astrange issue with my 105 rear that when I pull the lever the pressure fades after about ten seconds and the lever creeps fully to the bar . if i pull it again it holds pressure again but fades. When I bleed and i ve tried it loads it seems to always have air however much i bleed it. I checked the lever changed the little bladder and inspected for leaks but cant see anything leaking to cause pressure loss. It all started after the lever was forced back after driving into a high barrier with the bike on my roof rack. Any ideas befofore I buy a new brake lever and caliper?

      Don't buy new levers. I have the same issue and it simply isn't being bled thoroughly. Get all the air out and you'll be fine. A new lever will do the same.

    Is it normal that a bleed (after two years or riding) has a lot of blackened mineral oil coming out from the system?
    How do you flush it out completely and only have "clean" oil? And should I be concerned that maybe something is contaminated if the stuff got black? Brakes are still braking fine by the way, I'm just curious as to why it's very black.

    I will try that with my GRXs because nothing worked at 100% so far even when following Shimano instructions step by step.

    • @JohnnyRabbitQC
      @JohnnyRabbitQC Před 2 lety +1

      Hahaha I didn't die and my brakes are properly working now. The reservoir caps were loose on both of my brifters so a little bit of air was getting in. Took me a couple months to figure it out because I assumed Shimano's QC would have catch that!

      What fluid did you use for GRX?

    • @JohnnyRabbitQC
      @JohnnyRabbitQC Před rokem

      @@wanderingsofalanandcaz Shimano mineral oil. Don't use anything else!
