  • Thanks for watching my time spent in Bosnia! Sarajevo and Mostar are very cool cities with so much culture and history in them. I had spontaneously decided to head over to Bosnia and I am so glad I did as I was pleasantly surprised by the rich culture, lovely welcoming people and beautiful landscapes! This is my first time travelling in the Balkans and I am so excited to one day return and explore more countries in the region. There is so much to see! I even really enjoyed the long bus journeys and train journeys it took me to get to Sarajevo and Mostar from Croatia due to the beautiful landscapes I saw on the way!
    Info on Sarajevo:
Where to stay: infinity Boutique Hostel - a really small hostel in the heart of Sarajevo owned by a lovely guy from Malta. On arrival he gave me a free beer and chatted to all the guests all night long! He was happy for us to use all his belongings in the house such as the record player which was a cool little feature!
    What to do:
    - take a walking tour of the city (I did mine with Meet Bosnia). They also offer other specific tours to do with the recent war etc.
    - shop for some copper souvenirs
    - visit the abandoned bobsled track
    - Try some Burek and cevapi!
    Info on Mostar:
Where to stay: hostel Miran - another small hostel basically set up in someone’s house with a really nice family vibe! Miran puts on a special tour every day around the city of Mostar and the surrounding area. Although I didn’t do this I have heard it’s amazing! Miran and his family also were incredibly welcoming and they would stay chatting with the guests making sure everyone was having a great time. I had a great few nights there.
    What to do:
    - visit the famous bridge!
    - walk around the old town and visit the old bazaar
    - visit the war and genocide museum
    - try some Bosnian coffee!
    - walk around sniper tower and admire all the amazing street art and art murals that have been commissioned in the area

Looks like great fun - hope you enjoy the rest of your travels. I'm reading the Cellist of Sarajevo at the moment 😮 so weird timing. It's nice to see it's recovered from the war 🎉

Ahh thanks Elliot!! Not heard of that book but might give it a read just having visited Sarajevo!! There's so much recent history I didn't know much about! But yeah it's good to see they've come out the other side of it now 🙌 thanks again hope you are well!
