    "I can't wait to get back to the van" 🤣 fair play though! Looked very techy plus the weather wasnt ideal 👏

    Looks a real epic ride. Good on you for sticking with it.

  • @Thepoeticmtbr_The_poetic_mtbr

    Nice one TF. As you say not one of your best rides but still very watchable 👏. Had some shitty weather rides myself recently but still glad I've done them. Look forward to your next one 👍

    Brilliant, there’s no sugar-coating in your videos but what a day. (And there’s no shame in turning round or leaving it for a better day if that’s the right decision.)

    Fair play mate, a proper character building ride that is 😃👍

    At least you had some decent scenery to look at Mate. Like you said you have to go try these things and better to have done it than not. 👍

      Always wondered about these bridleways. And know I know.

    Try it this way next time mate.. ride south down langstrath valley keeping the river on yr left, hike a bike up stakes pass, head left towards angle tarn, more hike a bike to esk hause then you have one of the best descents in the uk down to sprinkling tarn and on to Styhead Gill and seathwaite. Best done on a spring day when it’s not to hot or a blast frozen winter day without melting snow.

      @@TrailFinder I never got round to watching tonight, to busy organising my ride in the Peaks tomorrow.
      Friday night viewing instead, with a beer 👍🏻

    Looks like a Type 2 day out! No doubt the weather wasn’t helping the enjoyment! At least you had each other’s positivity to keep plowing on 🤣

    Stakes pass the proper full on bike bike part 😂 I’ve got it on a route I’ve got!! Ulverston - maryport!! I’ve planning it as 3 days but dunno yet!!

    Ive come down Stake after climbing Rosset Gill .. but never geen Greenup so thank you:0

    The Endo turn, looks so easy when applied and done right but after trying it on a steep downhill turn, staring over the front tyre, above a 20ft drop, while trying to flick my rear wheel up and shift my hips at the same time I decided its bloody hard and is going to take some practice. Good luck 👍
    Nice wet ride, least it was quiet
    Must visit the lakes, only 30mins and never bike there..

    • @TrailFinder
      @TrailFinder  Před 2 lety +1

      I’ve been practising. It’s not as easy as it looks. And with only recently switching to flats from clips. I’m struggling to lift my rear wheel. But hopefully I get there

    • @gr1809
      @gr1809 Před 2 lety

      @@TrailFinder hows that going because I've always been a flat pedal rider and thinking about moving to clips? Why did you change?
      If you nail the endo you'll have to do a training video 👍

    • @TrailFinder
      @TrailFinder  Před 2 lety +1

      @@gr1809 hike a bike and the fact I dare not ride tech sections due to been clipped in. I’m riding stuff at the moment that would have been out my comfort zone before. Because I no I can dab easy. Even though I could unclip very fast. It’s still not the same. I will learn flats fully. Then prob switch between the 2 depending what I’m doing

  • @marksharp

    That looks a cracking route. I’ve just saved and followed on Komoot. Hopefully try that later on in the year, although, with an EMTB I might adjust from the hike a bike lol
    Great video.

    Great vid got to love a wild weather day, like most things would probably feel different on a sunny day. 👍

    • @TrailFinder
      @TrailFinder  Před 2 lety +1

      Definitely rich. Will never go down stake pass that way again. But green up edge has potential in dry weather.

    • @TrailFinder
      @TrailFinder  Před 2 lety

      I was a little hard on this ride. On reflection. The greenup edge descent would be great in the dry. Going to do it again. But in a different loop

  • @Stopadoodledoo
    @Stopadoodledoo Před 2 lety +1

    Great video mate and totally with you - if you don't go then you don't know. I did know about Stake Pass, having done it twice over the years. It's a total and utter waste of a difficult climb. I won't be doing Greenup Edge any time soon 😂

    • @TrailFinder
      @TrailFinder  Před 2 lety +1

      Green up would be great in the summer. I edited a lot out of that descent as we pushed alot. As it was so slippy. Going to add it into a different loop and try it again

      Not much fun Andy. Will be doing the classic 3 tarns route soon. Which includes stake pass going the other way. Which should be a lot better/fun

    Brave man doing a heigh level ride this time of year .
    But great video and like they say nothing ventured nothing gained
    Would it be any better in reverse

    • @TrailFinder
      @TrailFinder  Před 2 lety

      Greenup edge I think would be great in the dry. But not in reverse.
      Stake pass is better in reverse. And doing it that way is part of a classic lakes ride called the 3 tarns. Which I will be doing soon.
