Some days especially when I first started interior design I was mad for not getting enough sleep but as I kept pushing forward I know my trials will be so worth it. And yes I think all majors are stressful. They are pushing us to be the best we can be.

Ik I’m very late in seeing this video but I’m a high school senior and I recently got interested into interior designing. What are the must knows and where could I learn the basics of interior designing as after three to four years I’m planning to go to art school after taking a business major.
Hi! I just found your channel and I also just started highschool! I’m looking into going into the interior design major and I absolutely love interior design! I’ve played games about it, building houses, hotels, and even gas stations! I have loved it since I was a kid and would really love if you could just comment on this and tell me your experience with the collage! And what lead you to do interior design?
I have a large project due soon and I’m a little stressed bc I want to get it all done at once (not possible). I just gotta take it one step at a time
Pro tip: Use a piece of glass or something transparent and shine a light through the bottom to make a light box! This is what saved me in school lol

I know this is a super specific and personal request, here it goes, I’m really interested in going back to school for interior design but I’ve heard that there’s a lot of presentations, sometimes every week, and I always freeze during presentations, my English goes out my brain literally, do you have any tips to overcome the fear and shyness of getting through a presentation without freaking out 😭

If you cant see the lines just put both papers against the window during the daylight and then youll see everything clearly.
I'm worried about the moment in the future when my toddler decides to take my drawings and draw on them 😂

hey! I wish I would have taken art classes prior to senior year so if you can I recommend taking art classes like a drawing class or a 2-D concepts class as soon as you can. it will help you learn the basics and you can either use pieces you make in those classes in your portfolio or use those tips and apply them to your portfolio pieces. I made a video explaining what the portfolio generally is so i hope that helps! and in regards to math, so far I've only needed to know the basics when dimensioning :)

hi! thank you so much! we draw from visuals and this was just an exercise to help us practice our hand rendering. for my other projects we'd be designing and creating the spaces ourselves :)

Hiii, i’m a senior in hs and i’m specifically interested in Interior Decorating but do you feel like it’s important to get a degree for interior design? Although Interior decorating and interior design are different in some ways i’m wondering if it’s important to have that degree anyway?
hi! technically I don't believe you need a degree for interior decorating but some schools do offer them! interior decorators can't design though. design is more focused on space planning and functionality whereas decorating focuses on aesthetics and enhancing the look. I would recommend researching the two to really figure out which path is best for you and best matches your interests. I hope this helps 💓

hi! overall i did see (when applying to schools) that it is a more female dominated program BUT there are still a handful of guys in the program as well! if it's something you love then go for it :)
As a boy 👦 this might place you in a very unique position in this industry. I am a female gas boiler engineer living in London. This is an industry mainly dominated by men but By being female it has placed me in a very unique position in this undustry (not many womendoing it) and that alone brings me a lot of work opportunities and good money. hi! they do teach you tips and the rights and wrongs of design, but it's really up to you to come up with the design itself. a great way to start is just by looking at magazines and familiarizing yourself with different styles!

Hi!!! I'm going to be a sophomore this year and I changed my major to interior design. Based off of the classes you took do you have to be good at drawing to do the renderings? That is one of the things I'm really worried about for my classes. Your renderings look amazing and I'm worried I won't be able to create something like that for my classes. Thanks for your help!!

I have a question on financial aid I’m attending the first year. I got approved for 4 loan does the school keep all the finance that I get from the fafsa. Cause. The school doesn’t cover the books. I’m just trying to figure how the cost out of pocket

hi! architecture and interior design are different majors! you do work closely with architects and we do learn construction documents but for the most part they are different :)

Interior designing and interior decorating are two different things, right? So you only do interior designing not decorating?
I’m pretty sure if you do interior design, you not only do the actual designing of spaces and make changes with architects and builders, but you also polish off spaces and decorate them. However if you are an interior decorator you only decorate spaces. (Don’t take my word though I’m not certain)

hi! based on the programs i've used, you're definitely going to want to invest in a pc. i had a macbook going into college but my professors told me a lot of the programs we would use would not be compatible (or be very slow) with macs (and i'm assuming the same with the ipad). i have a video on my design computer if you need a better idea and the specific specs that i needed. my best advice would be to email your professors and ask them what the laptop requirements are. i hope this helps :)

hi! all the rooms I drew were already designed by other designers! my teacher gave us this exercise to practice our hand rendering. she gave us about 30 different drawings and we had to try and mimic them the best we can. I hope this helps :)
