10:38 You should invest in some Wagos. A poor connection at any point can cause the wiring to overheat where you spliced them, which could lead to issues down the line. This is especially as the tape probably isn't rated for as high temperatures as the isolation around the wires. The tape might hold now, but micro-vibrations, such as the ones in a car, can loosen the connection over time, and I don't think that tape is gonna hold very well in that case. Wagos offer a incredibly great connection between wires that can handle incredibly high amps, despite being design for simple low-amp uses such as this. I also really hope you made sure that there were no marks where you un-isolated the wires, as that can cause the wire to act as a thinner wire than it should, which could also lead to issues such as overheating wires. The cut in the copper might be barely visible, but it could make a difference. I am an electrical apprentice, so I work with higher amps, but I would apply the rule of thumb whenever working with cables and wires regardless of how many amps you're working with as the original wires were sized based on the requirement of the components. Great vid though!
Any idea how you would connect the rca to a 2021 plate Tiguan , I don’t have the media unit in the glovebox just a blank plate would I have to pull the head unit u reckon ?? Thx
@@sammalseed8764 looked in to it and I do have the media unit in the glove box it’s just different to yours it doesn’t have a cd drive , I’m going to pull that and follow your video for the wiring , I want to get this out the way before I even buy my sub! I haven’t had a sub in a car for years when all stereos had phono output lol , also the stock stereo is really bad , good page bro I’m following ya , last question do you know about fitting the rca to a golf mk 8 ? I have a new caddy van with the same system as the 8 but the van definitely doesn’t have a media box in the glove not sure about the golf 8 cheers bro!!!!
To others watching, don't run your power like that, use the grommet spot where the clutch would normally be.
Thanks for the tip, much appreciated
Exactly 😅
That’s correct .
but that is where my clutch is
Totally butchered a stunning vehicle with that terrible wiring...what was he thinking?
Great video, don't leave it so long dude !! :-)

Where did you wire the remote/switch live to?
You could of run you power wire on the inside firewall. There is a hole easy
Thanks for the video dude 🙌✌
I take it that ground spot was a proper location.
First! 😁
hope you soldered those wires, also that main power wire just looks plain hack job, run it through the firewall like a professional.
so does that work with bluetooth audio as well?
Connected with the speakers, so yes
If my golf gti mk 7.5 comes with a factory subwoofer can you not connect the rca converter straight to that instead of doing it the way you did it??
Id imagine so mate yeah i dont see why not
Why didn’t you tell us what color of wire you wired into whole reason I watched:(

Yes mate, I’d be pulling the head unit out and start there

Is this the golf r that gets gapped by a edition 30 😉
haha only just seen this. Just wait till its mapped pal :-)
Don’t run your power wire on the same side as your rca cables.
why not?
@@M3HMI because you’ll get interference.
