    If the balance shaft isn't lined up properly would it effect compression? I am having a issue getting the engine on time which should be easy with the markings. But I did not do what you did with the oil pump gear

      If the balance shaft isn’t lined up engine will shake but won’t effect compression

      @Motorcarnut this stupid thing got low compression and won't start valves are good timing seems on would one took or half a tooth off affect compression

    Did you change any of the sprockets when you did the timing job? Curious if I would need to. I only have 130 thousand miles

      @Motorcarnut  Před 5 měsíci +1

      No, you should be fine if just normal wear.

    Hello
    That was an informative video.
    I have question
    I installed an oil pump on the engine and fastened the bolt in the correct way, but after installation, the oil pump jumped and didn't move, then after a lot of try and error, I put 2 washers between the balance shaft oil pump and frame ladder and I fastened the bolts and everything became okay.
    Do you think this trick works?

    • @Motorcarnut
      @Motorcarnut  Před 9 měsíci

      Honestly , there should be no reason to add washers to the oil pump if it was not there from the factory. Something is not right and I wouldn't feel comfortable driving vehicle like that.

    Question where can I find the oil pump gear “I can’t find the exact one you have that I have as well” or will I have to buy the whole new assembly?

    • @Motorcarnut
      @Motorcarnut  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I don’t think they sell it separately.

      I just used a 6 point socket with an impact and I believe it's reverse threads. I didn't have that special tool.
