The amount of depth we had in that team mama ngai, its almost criminal. Big, consistent players in Ronaldo, Rooney x Tevez. Leaders like Ferdinand, vidic and neville. Well established veterans like Scholes x giggs. good mix of rotational players like fletcher, park, nani, anderson x hungry youngsters makin good impressions like the da silva twins, welbeck, gibson x macheda. Not to mention the acquisition of Berbatov and man what a signing he was, so technically sound he made the most of the unappealing scenarios x scored some unique goals. My time being a utd fan nothing can beat the 07/08 season but this one was really good aswell. Compared to the previous one, it was more of a team effort not that i’m downgrading the team effort but even though CR7 was still top scorer, it was like everyone in the squad for this season got to shine aswell. It was like you could count on anyone to show up x score and when u were behind u were confident the team could pull a mazza and gain a result. It wasn’t like Ronaldo was scoring commonly like he did in 07/08 you could look to others aswell. He wasn’t the only go-to-guy. These were good times, its just a shame we couldn’t replicate the double again because this was a very good well rounded squad👌🏾💯
i hope next season 2022-2023 without UCL night, we can win Premier League. I hope Ronaldo can be a pure Target Man. and some players can make a move like Benzema so Ronaldo can score everywhere
fantastic team. I liked also Beckham Ole Schmeichel team, but this one was special. Personally never liked Berbatov or Brown OShea, but the rest were fantastic. As you said the bench was so good Tevez Nani Park Anderson Welbeck Macheda Gibson. Later on RVP Chicha Valencia were so good to replace those few. But definitely the space left empty after Ronaldo Scholes Giggs Vidic then also finally Rooney, was not possible to fill. I liked Mata signing. But missing out on Benzema Bale Hazard Kroos Sneijder Hummels when rebuild was needed. Then later denying Lewandowski DeLigt now Haland Alvarez Vlahovic... Currently I think by quality we have a solid defence Dalot Malacia Varane Martinez, maybe Skriniar and DeJong signing away from that 2008/9 quality. Mid is very solid even better than 2008/9 Eriksen Casemiro Bruno McTominay should be working very well, possibly adding Tielemans or Kroos on free. Forwards Rashford Sancho Antony Ronaldo no doubt they all have quality but doent seem to click just yet. Firepower needed

Rooney had great work rate but he used aggression most of the time to his advantage. Like he scored tons of goals and was a hero for Man Utd but that doesn't really mean that he's better than Ronaldo. I think Ronaldo has always had more things up sleeve and in his arsenal as a player much better footballer. But Rooney was a good finisher.

I feel like Ferdinand was the problem during this time at Man Utd. Dude is a complete egoist, terrible leader and a bad defender. John O'Shea is also laughably clumsy and selfish. Thankfully players like Neville, Brown (who deserved the starting spot over Ferdinand), Evans, Vidic and Evra made up for that in the defense with solid leadership and defensive abilities. Fabio and Rafael were good backups. Best Man Utd squad by far. Middle very solid Carrick and Scholes usually creative and attacking. Hargreaves was a great defensive midfielder. Nani and Ronaldo were great wingers. Berbatov, Rooney and Tevez (even though he is a traitor for joining City I still appreciate his efforts) extremely deadly in the forward lineup. Great keepers Van Der Sar and Kuszczak. Foster was a downgrade. Although Ferguson played with weird and annoying tactics like 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 instead of the classic and original 4-4-2 I would give anything to have him back at the helm with the way things have been going on for the past decade. Really brought the best and most impressive work out of everyone despite being ruthless. Signing Berbatov was a massive highlight for me he's my favorite player of all time so incredibly good and talented at Tottenham, Bayer Leverkusen and CSKA Sofia. When he assisted Tevez during his first match against Scousers I knew this would be a special season for us. And it surely was. Premier League especially was something entirely different. Winning 4 titles is nothing short of amazing. Nostalgia. Take me 15 years back in time and let me enjoy this epic again.
