Thank you for your explanations! It helps a lot! As a self-taught artist, sometimes the “feeling” of the machine is not enough, and some explanations helps to understand which details might have been missed. Thank you!

Thank you, definitely realized a few things I haven’t been doing properly. Been tattooing for 8 years on and off in shops, so every time I’m “off” then I get back into a shop I almost need to relearn what I was taught during my apprenticeship.. I think being forced to make my own tattoo needles could have an affect on it aswell, having those custom made needles was really helpful. But after switching to a pen style machine I’m not sure how I could even make my own custom needles for cartridges! Your tips will help though, so thank you!

Amazing tips and information. I also want to add that although it may be obvious, it’s important to have your needles facing the same way the whole time especially when using a round liner. I noticed some people use the edge of the needles without realizing which makes line weight inconsistent. Thank you!

I got a somewhat, good question i think. Sometimes when i tattoo, and i dip the needle in ink, and tattoo sometimes i just can't get the ink to go down to the skin regardless of angle, like i have REALLY bad ink flow sometimes, and seems random, i like to have longer needle hang but only fix i can do is to make it real short the hang, it annoys me alot! i use bishop wand packer/shader+cheyennes, same thing, and same thing with all kind of cart's brands. It's super super wiard, have you tried anything similar? i have tried dipping JUST the tip of needle, running, not running, and having the tube all the way down, nothing works "sometimes", sometimes it does.
