    it made total sense for the train to be delayed. It went through Germany at some point. Hard to recover from that. And i say this as a german

      Nothing compared to Belgium. We ever had an incident in Brussels, and a week later the traffic was still delayed

    • @derin111
      @derin111 Před 2 měsíci +1

      You say that BECAUSE you are a German and it has become a national pastime in Germany to complain about DB. 😂
      I am a dual national citizen-British and German. Germans who complain about DB need to come to the UK to experience, and pay through the nose, for the FULL HORROR of a truly terrible rail service ! 😂😂😂
      There's no comparison...believe me! 😅

    For me, the best bit to these polish trains ( PKP / Polregio ) is that there are sometimes windows you can open down all the way, meaning you can stick your head out. I remember as a child i would always do this and get shouted at by the train conducter 😅

    As more and more people seem to try avoid flying, unless they're in a rush, I wish we'll see a revival of long distance trains with facilities like this...
    Restaurant and bar carts, a convenience store, perhaps a playground for the kids and stuff like that.
    Trains aren't very much restricted on weight, but of course there's width of the train... and the lengths of the platforms at the stations.
    Unfortunately most modern trains are not made to be able to connect infinitely, as it's much cheaper to have them certified for passenger transport safety if they're shorter separate modules...
    If every module needs all those facilities there's not much space left for passengers, and it requires more staff.

    The much hyped Krakow to Warsaw intercity express vosts as much ad UK trains but is often 2 hours late so you could save the supplements by taking a 4 hour stopping service.So much for the EU subsidies and catering at seat service.

    When you asked "...are Polish trains cheaper than British trains..." I didn't even need to know the answer. As a Brit, I can fly to Poland for a long weekend for equivalent or on many occasions, less than a Manchester from London train journey.
    Fun fact, the journey time is only 10mins longer to get to Krakow :). And no, I'm not Polish so remove any EU/foreign arguments from your mind - it's a fact.

The french state owned national rail operator. In other words we are subsidising the trains for the French by paying those extortionate fees. Absolute disgrace.
