Bakugo is definitely not weak, It's just Deku's quirk is OP.
In terms of raw quirk power, yeah sure he is lagging behind todoroki and deku. But when it come to natural fighting skills I think he is much better compared the 2. His fighting instincts is beyond comparable. The only thing holding him back is quirk and his attitude.

Black whip def works more like a light construct then webs because black whip lifts objects at odd angles like when Demi carries the whole bus with people away from a shiggy destruction wave. Deku was on the ground not the air so black whip had to do some form of levitation or telekinesis attached to it

Bakugou unfortunately won't get a power up. All Might pointed out that Bakugou was already high level compared to Deku at the time. Deku has been leveling up and due OFA flexibility: Deku was always going to surpass Bakugou. Bakugou is to Deku what Endeavor is to All Might. Bakugou will never be able to keep up. He will be in Deku's shadow. While people can throw out quirk evolution and such: it just doesn't change that Deku still has more quirks to unlock and Bakugou is already at a point that he's now stuck.
bakugo's potential isn't as high as deku's potential. But thats just because OFA is that strong of a quirk. So yes, it basically is going to be like endeavor and all might

Though note that the french polls were online and allowed 3 vote per reader and had some ip limitations (from what I heard). While the US polls was were also online, but heard you could just delete browser history and keep voting and the Japanese poll allowed one vote per volume bought as the vote stub came in the volume. A Bakugo fan in japan spent around 1000 usd to vote Bakugo.
Now you might think I'm hating, but if a character can have fans that loyal I give some props there. And I do think Bakugo is one of the better characters of the series.

The only thing I could think for his evolution is being able to use explosion on any part of his body
Carlitos Jaeger Here are my thoughts Bakugo’s evolution:
1. Full Body Explosions: Able to release explosions from his feet to aid in combat and mobility. His combat and travel speed will be even higher. I imagine his fighting style would be like Shinra from Fire Force and Endeavor.
2. Nuclear Explosions: Able to create explosions bigger and more powerful than ever.
3. Palm Attacks: Bakugo will take a note from Deku’s book and combine his powers with a fighting style that his quirk can support. He’ll release pin-point explosions with his palm attacks to deal precise damage
4. Transformation: Ignition Melting: Before Bakugo releases his explosion, his hand glows and emits smoke. As we saw in Heroes Rising, that glow is straight heat and can melt through solid rock (when powerful enough). He can use that ability to make his arms, legs, or entire body glow. This will let him melt his way through his target.
I also have a list of moves he can do but that’s a whole other paragraph to write

Or, if that doesn't make sense, if he can detonate his sweat at any time wherever it is - every drop of sweat is a mini bomb. You pretty much can't fight him at all in close quarters for long without some serious armor.
If both of these are unreasonable, then simply detonating the sweat anywhere on his body is enough of a power up tbh.
You literally won't be able to touch him. If you do, you'll have your limb blown off like a landmine. Close quarters are outta the question.

It’s not like Bakugo neglected to develop his own quirk. It’s more likely he’s got a limit to his ability that he’s been reasonably close to for a while, showing why he’d start to look into his limitations. When this guy’s mad he’s giving it 110%. But when he’s matched up against 500%? No dice. :(

He is plenty powerful, and a great battle tactician, its just his attitude that's holding him back, although is has been improving. Deku, the opposite. Great personality and mindset hero wise, just needed to grow externally power wise.

I always knew Deku would get stronger and eventually pass up his class mates because well he is the main character (love u deku💚) lol but still I’m proud of Bakugou for not wanting to give up even though it seems impossible right now. He still is really strong and a great hero even with his one quirk. Whether his dream to be number 1 comes true I’ll still always love him and his character development and his determined attitude🧡💥

Just think:
Shigaraki's awakening let him decay things he didnt directly touched AND no longer needs 5 fingers to activate it.
Toga's awakening let her not only became someone else but to USE THE QUIRK of that person (wich implies that her "metamorphosis" reached the DNA level, expressing the quirk factor)
If you work with the info the MANGA give you (not just assumptions), the awakening should be a BIG difference, like, in bakugo's case, produce explosive sweat from other parts of the body, like the feet.

Bakugo worked hard to get to where he is at and has pride of his work. Everything he does and the applications to his quirk comes from hard work and training.
Also bakugo will have to grow. He is the rival and hes going to grow and push his threshold. OFA is broken but nothing suggest that anyones quirk wont grow or awaken.
Bakugo will have to learn that Deku is better and eventually push himself to catch up but this time humbled.
Bakugo is actually fairly humble already, sure he’s loud but internally he doesn’t really overestimate himself. Though If you want him to become docile or something then I just can’t see it happening.

Society was been oversaturated during to the celebrity status now heroes are because of AM however hes the only one if you notice who has no hero agency nor is he wealthy at all. He sacrificed alot just to bring some form of hope and even temporary balance. Hes just human sure.. he was fucking powerful but he is no God. Remember Japan was controlled by AFO and his cartel and syndicates and AM stopped all that. It takes more than power but intelligence and hard work to take out a entire organization lead by almost a God.

@AlDamany Philson thank you for explaining then the only example of plot armor that I've noticed is when he got lucky and defeated shinsou at the sports festival. Other than that everything else been pretty routine.

The reason I love deku is the same reason I love superman it's never about how much power he has or who he is fighting, but his heart. His will to never give up and dedication to save people even before he had power is what makes his great. Yes he cries a bunch of times, but I actually like that, it shows how human he is, plus him crying never comes in conflict with any of his goals so it's not like it's a disadvantage it mostly even played for laughs
@E. But Gentle and La Brava were still criminals so what's was he supposed to do, just let them succeed in their plan? Plus how is he simping for Eri when he's not even attracted to her? Its the same way as if you have a little sibling and they went through a traumatic experience so obviously you would want to help them feel better and would be angry at someone that's interfering with their mental recovery.

And also at the same time ppl seem to forget that even if deku becomes physically stronger or faster than bakugo that doesn’t mean he’ll become more invulnerable to bakugo explosions. Pretty sure howitzer impact will still hurt the same if not more bc of bakugo becoming stronger

Deku really does have more experience in terms of people he’s beaten.
He fought Stain (w/ help), Muscular, Overhaul (w/ Eri), and Gentle. Beating Muscular and Gentle by himself no less.

Bakugo's main development as a hero is learning that strength is not the only thing that makes being a hero. That does not mean he should not grow stronger but just strength is not the main focus of what he needs the most.

He been passed Bakugo, Deku states in the beginning of the story that he becomes the number one hero so we already know he was surpassing him, I think Bakugo will snap a little knowing that there is nothing he could do to surpass Deku, I wonder where they go with Bakugo
Just to say this, bakugou didn’t have a first work study with best Jeanist. Bakugou Failed his provisional license exam and wasn’t allowed to do one.

@near bruv that just means he's trained himself to create more powerful explosions. quirk awakenings are usually stuff that absolutely puts your quirk on a whole another level. Here i think if bakugou managed to create a nuclear explosion, i would agree with you then his quirk would awaken, but most of his massive explosions had help from his support items also
Honestly I can’t say this is true yet manly because we don’t even know what the other quirks do and how they will be used in combat. Plus with shigaraki having all for one he still has a bunch of quirks that he also needs to unlock and he can also keep stealing quirks from other people btw.
Also deku and bakugou are still young, ill hold my judgement until they are in their prime cause them the payoff feels like it’s gonna worth it.

I think even if so, deku's still gonna be more powerful since he can fly,he has long range attacks,raw power,black whip,etc.and we don't even know what the other quirks are.
I hate the way this story is going. It went from a kid struggling and training hard to be the number one hero, to Deku is gifted the best quirk ever and it's a matter of time until he reaches greatness. Mirio seems like a better protagonist than Deku.

If you gave the quirk to Mirio or any of the top 30 heroes they would be the strongest person in the series. Not because the quirk breaks peoples arms at 100 percent. The issue with the other students revolves around them being irrelevant in comparison to the power Deku has.

You can't say that bakugou hasn't gotten massively stronger since his second fight with deku. 8% use to be too fast for him, and he can move at the same speed as 30%. He clearly improved by a lot, and there's no reason to think he can't improve further.
He did improve but he is no where near 30 percent like he wasn't even able to reach shigaraki when he was about kill aizawa twice.

Bakugo, Katsuki is a bully character.
As someone who was bullied from prekindergarten through to my first year of high school back when I used to live in a TOXIC ENVIRONMENT (El Paso, Texas) I have a bias (as “unfair” as most of the fandom will SCREAM at me that it is) toward bully-type characters and would rather not have them in a series if it can be helped.
His character is unfairly pretty because the original plan that Horikoshi, Kouhei had for this specific character was for him to be a nice-type character and instead turned him into a bully-type at the last second.
The main reason that most of the fandom even SOMEWHAT likes his character is because he is OBJECTIVELY visually aesthetically pleasing.
Obviously anyone who is at least thirteen and up KNOWS that being in ANY WAY, SHAPE, AND/OR FORM of a relationship with someone who was a bully during their younger years is signing yourself up for suicide and/or homicide and/or just death.
Because death is a better option than being in a relationship with someone like that.
This is my personal opinion on a popular topic in this fandom.
Do not come for me just because I am expressing my personal opinions in a civil manner about something that I have strong feelings about.
I just do not like seeing good and well written characters get hurt because the fans in a fandom want those characters to interact with a bully-type character.
I am not okay with unhealthy relationships and I would hope that my fellow fans would agree that being in a relationship with a bully-type character is unhealthy and difficult (painful) to see in fanworks.

There’s only one thing in this that I can refute in your post. Bakugo is not currently a bully-type character, he’s a former Bully-type character turned rival/ally. Like you in the past I was bullied from kindergarten all the way to the end of high-school, except I couldn’t perceive the difference between bully’s and friends and had a completely twisted view on relations throughout my school life. I expected anyone to be close to me to at least in some way berate me for no reason or ignore me or just make me feel worthless. I also realised that due to my twisted views on relations, in trying to make new friends during school, I would unknowingly Harass others, leading them to pushing back and then bullying me in return. Yes Bakugo was a bloody asshole and a MAJOR bully in the beginning, but he too had his own fair share of problems, problems that we only truly got to see after Bakugo and Midoriya’s rematch and now thanks to the current chapter in the manga, we now know that he’s trying to find atonement for the inexcusable things he did in the past. I like the *current* Bakugo as he is making an active effort to try and make up for the terrible things he did by helping Deku get stronger and watching out for him since, due to Izuku’s selfless nature and lack of self-preservation, Izuku wouldn’t think twice in throwing himself towards death to save someone else

Sure bakougo isn't making huge improvements but you can't say he isn't make progress when you forget to mention how he learned to condense his explosions he is picking up new method of doing things his way but it is happening at slow rate.
In the beginning of the show Deku was just "a stepping stone" for Bakugou, but now its almost the opposite. But hes a stepping stone in a good way! Because of their rivalry it has pushed Deku to go even further beyond and train harder (plus ultra style). But Bakugou still has the mindset that Deku isn't better than him. So now that Deku is stronger and Bakugou will realize he's the one who needs to catch up. Deku has always thought of Bakugou as a goal to reach, but I think Bakugou will have some good 'ol character development and start think of Deku as a new goal to surpass that will drive him to do better. Because of that deku will work harder to so they can be equals. Overall I think they are the perfect definition of rivals, both pushing each other to do better. When one gets ahead the other follows right behind.

There is no doubt Deku got the best quirk around but if you think he did not worked hard to prove that he is worthy, you are mistaken. He is training constantly. Literally any time he has spare time.
A lot of people don't know this but bakugou quirk is actually a combination of two of his parents useless quirks it also grew with him so he didn't have to do any real physical training until season 3

Well his quirks are being amped by OFA so I guess they're awakened by default.
AL technically they are already awakened but also no. He uses these quirks at like 40% or something. So in a way he might only be using the quirks at 100% of what they would be without one for all amping them. Once he gets 100% then we could say for sure all of his quirks would be awakened

No, think like this, whatever percentage deku is at will determine how strong his other quirks will be, deku at 30% will have a 30% buffed blackwhip, and deku at 45% will have a 45% buffed blackwhip, his quirks are apart of his OFA, So if he uses the quirks without OFA they’ll be like regular quirks for say, as for them having awakening more than likely they’re already awakened since they’ve been stock piling for so long, and the older the quirk the stronger it will be

And the requirement really ain't that much. It requires a strong body sure, but pretty much every pro hero we see, is in peak physical form. The only problem is controlling percentages.

Eri can turn back time and turn people into babies or a monkey depending on how it's used. And Miro can a phase through objects and teleport. And about those six others so far we only know black whip which is really no stronger than Saro and float which if you think about it it's kind of redundant. you want to talk a broken power try Yaoyorozus creation they should be doing so much more with that.

To parallel Deku’s representation of Western Super Heroes, I always saw Bakugo as a representation of not just Shounen Rivals but Eastern Shounen Heroes in general. In fact, I saw Bakugo as basically Naruto if Naruto was recognized for his talents early on, raised by his parents, and even coddled to the point of Narcissism like Bakugo was. (Not comparing him to Sasuke or Vegeta due to Bakugo not being driven by revenge at any extended point). And Bakugo’s drive to be #1 specifically is no different from Naruto, Luffy, or even Goku’s goals of being #1 either.
So as for power ups, I can actually see Bakugo getting something like a transformation or a Kaioken equivalent in the future in order to keep up with Deku, with all the draw backs that come with it. And I can see Horikoshi continuing to examine certain traits of Shounen heroes through Bakugo and what it means to push your talent further beyond as well as what it truly takes to make it in strength.
But I think any and all power ups will be in service to Bakugos character arc in recognizing that being #1 or the best hero means more than just raw strength and talent. And I think that’s why Horikoshi essentially stopped Bakugo from any significant growth in strength, because that kind of growth isn’t going to really help him in his pursuit to be a hero at this moment.
I agree. Bakugo quirk is strong enough to take down almost anyone but Shigaraki. So why would the writers think they need to make him stronger than shiggy if it is Deku destiny to beat him? It's a waste of storyline if you have to come up with a stupid powerup just appease fans. We have had 4 seasons of Bakugo being "stronger" than Deku. Deku doesn't need Bakugo to get stronger to improve his quirk and become the greatest hero.

What’s Bakugo’s power ceiling?
Knowing his berserker personality I can believe he’s been performing close to optimally with his quirk. It’s gonna be hard for him to accept hitting a limit like this.
I think from the moment Bakugo knew that Deku got his quirk from All Might, he probably already acknowledged that Deku would already be able to surpass him because (in his 'terms') it was All Might's quirk. And maybe knowing that Deku would inevitably surpass him when he makes OFA his own is one the reasons that led to their fight at ground beta. That fight is what made Bakugo see Deku as not just 'that one useless kid that somehow got lucky', and more of a 'rival that will probably also be greater than All Might BUT I WILL STILL SURPASS HIM' type of thing. If he already knew that but is still determined to surpass Deku, I don't think his mentality would be an issue here. Maybe seeing Deku actually surpass him was a shock, but it's already within the range of his expectations. The only actual problem is how he could physically keep up, and for that, I guess he might have a power-up or quirk awakening. Also, the way they are right now, I don't think they're ever gonna fight. As in a serious fight, and not just a sports festival or sparring training sort of thing. I just don't see any fights like the one in their first training where there was actual hostility, or the fight in ground beta ever happening. To do so would just kind of be out of character. The only way I can see it happening is if there's gonna be a huge event or something that will actually make them majorly disagree with each other. But as much as I want to see how a fight between them would go, I don't want their friendship to just be broken for an arc for the sake of one fight, and then go back to normal the next arc.
My head canon is that Bakugou quirk will evolve into being able to ignite explosions on all parts of his body and not just the palm of his hands

The reason the smashes seemingly didn't do much was cause the first one slammed him down and the second one,his regeneration was coming back,healing him of all injures.
As a big DC fan I wanted to draw some other superhero/Deku comparisons
Firstly, Wonder Woman- I feel like Shimaru Nana is more similar to her than Deku is in persona and powers, but a few similarities I noticed: black whips being similar to Wonder Woman's lasso, Deku's values and intentions of protecting others and saving lives first and foremost, not to mention his connection with small children like Eri and Kota, something Wonder Woman is frequently pictured as having. Also Wonder Woman is (depending on the version/era) a pacifist who prefers to extend her hand before raising it, which I feel reflects Deku's kind-hearted personality. Both are characters with immense strength and strong values that involve persuing justice and saving lives above all else.
Another comparison could be drawn from them both having support systems that most other big heroes in the DC universe lack (WW with the Amazons and Deku with the numerous characters that have helped and supported him along the way) but that's a lot to unpack for a YT comment tbh 😅
Also, this was already mentioned but I get Big Robin vibes from Deku, particularly Time Drake's Robin in his ever watchful and calculating mind, always analysing the situation before jumping and watching his opponent.

The relations to Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man goes into his personality. He couldn’t be like every other superhero so he studied them learn their strength and weakness. His relation to Batman and Superman is his willingness to sacrifice himself for the greater good with or without a plan. The reason we all grew up reading superman is the fact that even in times were there was a slight chance for Superman was out of his depth we still saw him go ahead first into something willing to risk it all for everybody else especially in the comic book doomsday. His relation to Spiderman with that he’s young he’s got a bunch of people out there who are better stronger and faster than him and constantly he’s trying to put a smile at every obstacle he faces. Similar to Peter Parker he wasn’t always the strongest person in the world he was bullied and when faced with adversity he simply tries to help think his way through and knowing he’s in a place where he many times out of his league like Spiderman he continues to push to an almost exerted breaking point. And in the breaking point he develops more.

Around Bakugo that’s for sure, If Todoroki used blue fire during the fight against 1B he most definitely defeats bakugo, I really don’t see bakugo defeating Todoroki, I mean how will bakugo be able to actually land a solid blow on Todoroki? He has fire, bakugo will get burned, Todoroki is stronger but then again bakugo with his equipment is really strong since he can make full auto blasts and grenades, if they both have equipment on then bakugo I can see winning, but without equipment Todoroki wins, I know the rivalry is mainly deku & bakugo from a plot standpoint, but clearly Todoroki is just as powerful as bakugo, only thing Todoroki lacks it flight, Todoroki mid-long range is strongest for sure, plus he has strong defense, his maneuverability for sure is lower than bakugo/deku, but he’s still very mobile on his ice, and he makes up for this with destructive power, also Todoroki will eventually be able to fly just like endeavor so it’s only a matter of time, once Todoroki can really manipulate his fire and ice he’ll be monster, bakugo has no setbacks, he just needs to train, Todoroki must hone his fire, deku needs higher percentage, bakugo is just regular, nothing wrong, but don’t forget bakugo gets stronger as he fights and with equipment he becomes exponentially more stronger
