Most of the general populace have their own quirks so they wouldn't be as hero obsessed to go so far as to literally fill out multiple journals about them for their whole lives. The way I imagine a Villain Deku is this: After being told by All Might to abandon his dreams and be more realistic, he decides to give up on being a Hero.
Unfortunately, in this scenario he is no where near where Bakugo is and as a result is in critical condition. Deku blames himself for this and only thing echoes in his mind, “Die Loser” & “why don’t you go jump off the roof”.
He decides to do it. In that moment of jumping, he finally felt free. Free from the shackles of society that bound him. That grounded him. That denied him. Denied him the right to dream. In that moment before hitting the ground, a great bitterness and anger was born within him. Hitting the ground, one thought echoed in his mind: “Damn this Society. They should Die.”
As he lays dying & vision fading, a figure appears before him. This would be the first time he met All for One.

      Not a bad motivation.
I just find it more likely that he would get pushed off. Simply because he doesn't seem to be the kind of person to off himself..no matter how terrible he feels.
Now imagine his guilt gets the better of him. He can't help feel resposible and end up telling some of Bakugo's friends about what happened.
He get pushed to the side of the roof. They aren't really planning on killing him they are just so angry and sad about what happened to Bakugo so their bullying ends up going too far..and Deku falls.
He doesn't become outright hateful or bitter but rather his view of society changes when he gets saved by a villian of all things.
He begins to see how unfair the world is and his heroic trait gets moved away from saving people from villians into saving people from the unfair society they live in.
He would become more of a villian the likes of Stain and attempt to change the society by fighting against "heroes" that arent true heroes.
I doubt he would be quite as bloodthirsty as Stain since he wouldn't actually be interested in killing but just wanted the unfit heroes to come out and show their true colors.
His incredible determination and willpower making him a perfect candidate for someone like all for one to grab and molt as he saw fit.

  • @Azrael_Equinox
    @Azrael_Equinox Před 3 lety +67

Honestly this reminds me of that one Doctor Who episode, "turn left" It's so eye-opening to see how different something would play out with one simple change.
If Deku went the way he did, events play out the way they currently are; if he went the same way home he was planning to go before Sludge, he would be a likely villain. Sure he would be quirkless, depressed one with no contacts, but his shear intellect would make him a terrifying opponent to go against.
His motives would be something along the lines of mass media manipulation, always getting out the truth the media never reveals. It would start small, like radio or tv hjacks and would be seen as a police problem, after a while though he could find a way to broadcast his messages to the big screens in cities attached to skyscrapers and such. Now being seen as a big problem to society professional hero's would be sent to find him and bring him in, villain's however, would hunt him down to join and/or praise him.
By this point realistically, USJ or the Stain arc has just happened, so it's also likely that the handyman would be looking for Deku to join the league. He could offer them something that the villains of the series never got until recently, the ability to cause massive public panic. Could you imagine if he revealed that Dabi was Toya, All Might's weakness and that All Might also broke his childhood dream? Hero society would be broken in arc 3!!!
I could see him filling a Lex Luther type role in the league, but his views on the world would be completely shattered. A man looking for purpose and vengeance. Always taunting hero's with his appearance but luring them into a trap last second.

But even then, i do believe that he'd be able to notice that All Might was getting less and less active in his hero work, what with how obssessed he is with him, but he'd probably chalk it up to old age, as for how he could possibly beat All Might, get him into a highly populated area, like a crowd in the mall, like what Shigaraki did.

MHA happens at least 200 years in the future of our world, there is no reason to doubt that he could possibly make a bomb himself.

He could easily just wait for the villain to make the first move and then if he ever is caught just file it as self-defense but yeah.
As a villain I feel like he’d be terrifying because he smart and mentally stable enough to do some real damage. He’d also know about All Might’s weakness, time limit, and civilian persona and unlike the other villains wouldn’t rely on a quirk so if he did ever get caught up in a situation where those quirk destroying bullets for shot at him it wouldn’t really affect his overall poweress.

the concept of Villain Deku is always interesting and I'm happy to hear your take on it
while the part where he becomes a vigilante is interesting, I do see Izuku being more on the villain side, but still have his own standards just like any other person would, he would still try to save people but willing to fight others if it means achieving his goals, he would try not to kill so much but know it's unavoidable.
My take and idea towards the concept of Villain Deku is that he becomes a villain because he was constantly rejected from becoming a hero, when All Might told him he can't be a hero, that would break him, then he would realize that he's not alone, that villains are exactly like him, people who were rejected and disowned by society, he would join the League of Villains in hope to change society and save those who needs saving but ignored by heroes. With knowledge of researching heroes and their quirks, he would be a valuable asset to the League.
and even then, there are many possibilities of what could happen, either Izuku becomes a new leader and a new AFO successor when he realize Shigaraki has no intention of changing society or start his own league with former members joining his cause. the possibilities is endless and overall, it results in making Izuku becoming the most dangerous villain for the heroes to face. quirk or quirkless.
an interesting idea that relates to villain Deku is the idea that Izuku had when he faced Gentle Criminal, their fight made Izuku realized that he could of gone the same dark path as Gentle. The concept of Villain Deku, however shows how CLOSE he was from going down that path, and it was literally a bottle slip away, a different walkpath away, pretty much if Midoriya wasn't present when the sludge villain captured Bakugo, or that never happened, then Izuku would be on the path of a villain.
like you said, if Izuku never gotten that opportunity, he would never become the successor of One For All. and because of that, I like to believe that the MHA multiverse is split into two, with more than half of them being timelines where Midoriya becomes a villain and/or a vigilante.
that's my take on it and what I like to say about it

Hot take but I find a villainess version of Deku a way more interesting character. Since Deku's character development has been pretty abysmal in the actual series. It's pretty easy for a pure character to go either way. He could have the same personality too.
Not having a quirk in this world is like being handicapped. He didn't have friends before UA, constantly put down for even existing, Bakugou even hinted that he should kill himself, an idea Deku's against only becuz Bakugou would get in trouble! His life was actually really rough based simply on how he was born.
Taking all that into account its kinda easy to see the next big super villain born from a society obsessed with quirks. He could still love quirks but hate the people who use them.

After he gets his power has pay the price he gets into the school of heroic stuff. When he gets there he meets kachan. (sorry if I spelled it wrong) Kachan gives him a smark calling him a loser and telling him he won't make it into the school once again. Everyone else at the school already had the sports festival and about to get into them getting there licence. Deku having the villains on his side helped him get in on a late start. When he gets into his classroom he see's a girl name urocu (sorry if that's not how you spell it) Now he Imelda falls in love and trys to go up to her to talk to her. But gets stopped by the bell that class is starting. The teacher says there's a new student and says come up to the front deku. Deku says his name is misuku not deku and says he's excited to be here. Kachan taints him starting to laugh and says a loser like you quirk less will never make it that far. The teacher tells the class to settle down as deku goes back to his seat kachan trips him and he ends up falling on his face. He stands back up and sits back into his seat. When its lunch deku goes outside the school to only meet his villain Friend's. They tell deku that they will descuse what he has do today with them at midnight because he has to pay his deit for all this. Now his deit is that when they need him he has to server them anytime they ask for, for the rest of his life. Deku shakes his head and goes back to the seats eating his lunch when a girl sits next to him named urocu. (sorry if that's spelled wrong) He starts blushing and says wha- H- hi uh what are you uhh doing here. Urocu goes on and says I'm here to sit with you. Your the new student right. Deku goes on to say y-ya I am but what about your other friends don't you want to sit with them. Uruko says nope I wanna sit with you. After school deku goes home and meets All for one with the portal guy and takes deku to there secret base. All for one shows deku around and introduces the plan to him. He needs to get intell on kachan so they can try and make him apart of this group. Deku goes on with what they plan and sneaks into the school at night listening to the principals, All Might, and his teachers conversation about going to the place to train to be a hero. Deku reports back to him the next day about this info and goes to school the following day the teacher tells the student there on a trip tommarow and will have get ready for that today. At lunch kachan meets deku and takes him to an ally. Kachan grabs him by his collar and says that how did a quirk less loser like you get into this school. Deku pissed starts to turn on his power and the fight starts.

You know, a lot of people give V!Deku a quirk, but I think that the idea of him as a quirkless villain is much more menacing. In the main series, One For All ends up overshadowing Deku's original analytical qualities. One of my favourite exchanges in a fan work had All For One offering Deku a quirk, and him replying with the line, "I'll prove I don't need one." ...which I find to be chilling and exciting. In the world of villains, Deku would become like an evil Batman, analysing and planning to find heroes' weaknesses and take them down.
Actually, I find that your analysis follows a lot of the same line of thinking that mine does. I think it's really the most logical route for his character. My only point of difference is this - I think that Deku on the "vigilante route" would eventually encounter Stain. Much like in the canon timeline, I think Stain would recognize Deku as a "genuine" hero, and be willing to spare him after being able to overpower him easily. However, that's where I think things would diverge again. For this more bitter, cynical Deku, who has seen a world where how you're born matters more than what's in your heart - where his hero rejected him and the bully who told him to kill himself gets to live out his dream - Stain's message would resonate. Stain himself was once a vigilante, and his villainous actions are motivated by noble ideals. I believe that Deku would become Stain's protégé, sharing in his desire to rid the world of false heroes and create a world where society is protected by those truly worthy of the name. Their one point of contention would be on the subject of All Might, the man that Stain considers the only one worthy of defeating him, and whom Deku would consider to be a "false hero" after the way his dreams were crushed.
At some point after Deku joined him, Stain would be defeated, either due to his involvement with the League, or because Deku's help caused him to become a bigger threat faster. Either way, Stain would be taken out in a public display much like in the original timeline. It is possible that, because of Deku giving Stain information on heroes' weaknesses to help him defeat his targets more easily, Stain would become a big enough threat for All Might to become directly involved. With Stain gone, Deku would either learn of Stain's dealings with the League of Villains after, or have already known, but would regardless be among the new wave of recruits to join. However, for Deku there would be a particular reason for wanting to join the League, because he would wholeheartedly share Shigaraki's desire to kill All Might. While it's possible that All For One would offer Deku a quirk, I don't think that he'd accept one - at least not initially. By this point, being able to defeat heroes without a quirk would have become a point of pride, and part of his identity. By managing to defeat someone blessed with powers while he himself had none, he would be proving the very society that rejected him wrong, proving that he had worth that was not determined by his birth. The mantle of "Defenseless Izuku" would be a name he'd bear in mockery of those who'd underestimate him because he didn't have a quirk.
For him to cast that aside, I think, would take something big. One possibility is learning about the true nature of One For All. With the knowledge that All Might's quirk can be passed on, he would certainly feel outrage that his one-time idol had possessed the means to change his fate, but chosen not to - especially if he learned that All Might himself had once been quirkless. That might or might not be enough to make him abandon his pride, depending on when he learned it, but would certainly cement his hatred for All Might, and desire to kill him. The other thing that might push him over the edge if that didn't is having to go up against All Might's successor. Whoever was chosen to be the next bearer of One For All, they'd be someone from UA, meaning that they'd not only have the magnified strength of One For All, but also their own strong quirk, supercharged by its power. I think this would ultimately prove an obstacle that quirkless Deku couldn't overcome on his own. He would accept a quirk from All For One not out of a desire for it, but out of tactical pragmatism, and the reasoning that if his opponent was "cheating" by using a power that wasn't theirs, then it would be fine for him to do it too.

I think that because of how driven Deku is to becoming someone who can save people, even being shut down by All Might himself, he'd become the most active vigilante ever, instead of a villain.
He and Stain would've crossed paths sooner because of similar ideals and maybe even been mentored by him. Deku being as pure-hearted as he is, would sway (or at least try to sway) Stain's recklessness in killing heroes, despite their unjust want for glory instead of saving people. Maybe Deku's excuse would be that the heroes just need a better example to follow, referring to himself, rather than just being told that heroes' ideals are wrong (which is what Stain did before becoming a villain).
Deku might not want outright revenge on All Might for turning him away, especially since he didn't learn during their first encounter that he, too, was quirkless (that would've been fuel for hatred). But I bet he'd be more similarly driven like Bakugo to one-up All Might and prove him wrong as a vigilante.
Like you said, Deku would get a lot of crap for being unlawful, but he'd do his best analyzing foes for the heroes and passing on that info, possibly manipulating other heroes with it so that it would discretely prioritize saving lives over glory.
Although, with this alternate plot, I don't see much of a rivalry happening between Bakugo and Deku. And there'd be a ton of character development dominoes that would be left unfallen without Deku making it to the hero course (Shoto recognizing his own power, Iida recognizing the importance of saving others, Bakugo's initial growth in not blaming himself for All Might's retirement and possibly turning villain, etc.)

Izuku is pretty much the fusion of batman and spiderman, lol.
Also side not Izuku wasn't ready to give up and lost a lot of Faith that he had a chance and as such was for the first time making a back up in case he didn't get into Ua but that's it. Even if all might didn't say he could be a hero he still singed up for the hero course and would of srill tried to pass. Hell even without one for all he still would of got into UA as he passed thw written class. Tho he most deftly would of failed the entrance exam and would be placed in the support class or genral studies like Shindo.

But I think sometimes we really underestimating his values. He would become a real villain no matter his amount of dismay in which he has stated himself. Deku would NEVER become a villain because if u take away his quirk, experience and hope, you still have his core morals and ideology which would never allow him to commit acts of wrong. I also lastly think that deku would never become a vigilante either. We can imagine it all we want but it is indisputable that he would not be able to make a change without a quirk. The support items only go so far and that’s only when you have a quirk for them to support. If deku never got one for all he would just assume a normal life as a policeman or something. To think that he would so easily faulter from his ideas is just wrong

As much as I agree with the fact that Izuku has a very low chance of ever becoming a villain because of his strong moral compass and ideologies, I do believe he's reckless enough to help people by becoming a vigilante. And him not having a quirk doesn't actually effect much, seeing as Eraserhead became an underground hero (and a very good one to boot) with only a quirk that erases other quirks, and not all of them. If he can be a hero, fighting essentially quirkless, I think Izuku could be one too, seeing as his analysis is almost as good as Aizawa's quirk when it comes to fighting. He could effectively nullify his opponents quirk by outwitting them and putting them in a situation when he could out maneuver them or stop them from using their quirk.

@@peachywarrior5258 second, Izuku would never make it as a vigilante. I swear y’all be hyping him up so bad like no. Deku is, at best, a scrawny dude with quick smarts. Without a quirk, he is essentially powerless. Plus, all the villains we’ve seen are BROKEN. Overhaul, Shigiraki, AFO, Dabi and the rest of em. The hero support items are SUPPORT items. They do not have their own powers.
Basically what I’m saying is, he wouldn’t have become a villain or vigilante, and even if he did, he wouldn’t last. He is not super smart, he would have either no or the weakest drive, and he wouldn’t be strong enough to actually change anything.
      It’s just not happening

@@tobiasthexiv534 Okay, for your first point, I'm not saying Aizawa is quirkless or is essentially quirkless, I'm saying he has to fight quirkless, like he has no combat quirk. He has a support quirk at best, and has to take down the villains with support items and his fists like any other dude. I'm just saying that because he has to take down villains with his fists and feet, others can too, and Izuku is smart enough to even the playing field in different ways.
For your second point, I'm also not saying he could go from the first episode version of him straight into vigilante-ism. He'd have to train his mind and body to get to a point where he could make a difference when fighting other people with quirks. He DEFINITELY cannot go against any of the League of Villains right off the bat, or soon at all. I'm just saying that vigilante!Izuku is a possibility if you structure his growth right. Again, like you said, he has quick smarts. If he trains that, plus his analytical ability to use in quick combat, he could potentially maneuver situations to his benefit and be able to fight off low-level crooks.
It's possible, but like any of the possible options he could have taken from the first episode, it take a huge amount of time. 10 months to be strong enough to even hold One for All, he'd take double or even triple to be up to a decent fighting standard withtout a quirk.

      @peachywarrior5258 Před 3 lety

@@tobiasthexiv534 Plus, being vigilante means being on a whole scale of grey, which means taking out someone like Shigaraki would be as easy as, "get fast and strong enough to cut off his hands before he can touch you". Steal from the support course, or even ask for it, and make bombs or grenades. Get fireproof clothing and bulletproof vests. There's lots of things on the table if your moral compass is now dependent on something other than the law.

he wants to be like All Might. If u dont get it. Quirks can make someones personality for them. Like Togas quirk and her personality. Hes quirk was prolly stolen from that doctor. Hes quirk is prolly Ignite or Mimic. For Ignite, hes parents quirk will explain it.

god, in the event of the last scenario, if deku got into the hero course with a quirk from AfO while in kahoots with the league, that would be a fantastic au. like, essentially deku-is-the-traitor au, mixed in with deku using the skills and training from ua to eventually use against the pros. he'd have a very intimate understanding of how the inner workings of hero agencies and strategies to turn against them, and being so close to so many pros would leave them much more vulnerable compared to spying from other villains. plus, like you said, the arch-nemesis relationship between bakugou and bakugou becoming the true "good guy" of the story would be fantastic. imagine the development between those two and the way they're now building off of eachother, but knowing that secretly deku was betraying bakugou the entire time. like, just as bakugou is finally accepting that working with deku doesn't necessarily equate to being looked down on and being pitied, deku is actually turning against him and manipulating him. the whole scenario would absolutely wreck both characters emotionally i think, as well as the entire cast once the pieces of the puzzle finally fell into place, but god it would be amazing to watch. if that was a story written by horikoshi, i can imagine he'd probably go for a big dabi-touya-esque reveal, but i think it would be just so compelling if instead deku stayed in the shadows and just gradually began to pull more and more strings (like a death note sort of story, with deku as light and everyone else being like the investigation team), until before long almost everyone important knew but couldn't do anything. omg the idea of a death note-bnha hybrid situation is so amazing

I thought he would then solidify his position by defeating others in his class not with a quirk but with how much knowledge he has of their quirks and weaknesses, so he’d win by just being smart and observing. I was kind of disappointed when he received one for all because I would’ve loved an underdog story and deku just destroying the status quo of hero society but I still do like what it is.

He is very observant and has great analyzing skills which could help him create clever plans. He is a quick thinker and is great at manipulating the environment around him to his benefit. Even if he didn’t go down the path of a hero I could tell he wouldn’t want to hurt anyone who he found innocent so I always thought he would fit under the vigilante title better.(if he couldn’t be a hero) I also came across a fanfiction with him as a quirckless villain which perfectly summed up this video and some of my own ideas of him going down a different path 😆

It is interesting, and i do see it is a bit different from other people's theories on how Izuku became a villain. Many of the fan comics and art depict Midoryia at his worst possible state to the point of contemplating or committing suicide in a way the Katsuki has brought up to him. Of course, this usually results in him being saved by one of the league of villains either before or after the attempt to take his own life and his sadness morphing into bitter anger. Of course, this is mostly the consistency of the villain deku similarities after that it branches off to him being a quirkless villain, obtaining a quirk from AFO or in some cases it following the cannon of him obtaining OFA but his anger continues to brew inside of him and in the end he is discovered to be a traitor all along. I find any of the versions of Villain Deku to be interesting because it pulls you in because it shows you what someone who has been pushed to their limits could become. I mean there are also other villain versions of the students such as Bakugo but I feel like following the story of how Katsuki becomes a villain is far less compelling because it is obvious the chance of that is still there. Katsuki is known to push people aside for his own gain and/or to feed his superiority and inferiority complex and i feel that his motivations would be more selfish and a bit cookie cutter to most villains. Izuku's villain ambitions while very average as well are compelling based of the emotion you feel for his character. You want to see what someone who all his life is told he would amount to nothing while having his dreams crushed would lash out on the world who he felt turned their backs on him. I think we all like the villanized versions of our favorite heroes because such a big fall from everything they believe in is such a compelling story.
