you could use the first pod at any live gig and not one person would know. ultimately, we guitarists are buying equipment for OUR ears....not the audience. the cheapest modelers sold today are still very gig able. even the $36.00 cube baby has 2-3 decent sounds. we have arrived :)

This would be a good unit for someone just getting into the modeliing world. Get a short TRS to XLR male cable adapter so you can plug into FOH cables easily.

I love my Ampero One Silver Edition for 180 EUR, but there are some bugs I wish they would fix

In all seriousness buying these units is insanity. I use a podhd500x which is under $200 on reverb. I have done blind tests with bands, pro guitar players, and average joes. It is literally just a good as a helix. People hear with their eyes period. Don’t spend a thousand on a unit. As soon as the next generation comes out they always go down in value by. 80%

Are you Phil McKnights relative? You talk and looks just like him.

Pretty good contender for the price point. The tiny buttons for changing the effects is a weird choice. I expect adding more foot buttons would crank the cost up pretty quickly.
I think "at the end of the day," a better choice would be the Pod Go, which is like 10x the device at 2x the price....

This thing is best for straight amp sounds, presets be damned. The amp models are perfectly usable and can be boosted with most famous boost and eqs. The modulation and delays are fine if used sparingly. It's best to run these through at least 50-100 watt amp so you can turn the amp up and control the volum through pedal, makes it sound less synthetic.

Just starting the video but I’m guessing the answer is going to be no. I can’t imagine anything taking the place of my Quad Cortex.

The phrase I hate more than anything is "just as good as" - if you have to say it then it's not.
