  • I love gear but as a receiving gear addict, buy more stuff is a slippery slope. I'd much rather use something I already had to achieve something not seen before. The Tonex pedal and Tonex one were certainly market disrupting but they still do cost money and space on a pedalboard but there's a free app so...
Here's an in depth overview of how to host Tonex on an iPad and use the Line 6 HX Stomp as an audio interface. This allows you to utilise the Tonex app for amp and pedal modelling and free up the DSP of the HX Stomp to run more effects without losing the portability of the HX Stomp.
Personally, I think the Tonex amp captures sound amazing but even if you don't think they're any better than the HX amps, you have to admit that running stereo amps kinda kills the HX stomp for anything else. Not anymore.

Thanks for the support on this video. Hoping it helps you in a real useful way. Let me know how you’ll implement this with your rig

Great video! I have not seen anything like this before. I will definitely try this! My small suggestion for this and/or future videos (if you are going to keep filming in the same space) would be to please change the color of the text you add to the video. It is very unreadable against your background. Thanks again!

Amazing! It’s actually like having 3 tonex devices. And I also think you will not add latency because you are staying digital and do not need to convert to analog like when using the tonex in the effects loop. Great!!!

Just get a Tonex One and run it in the FX loop and treat the FX loop block like an A+C block. That's what I've been doing. It's cheaper and more convenient that way as well! Saves a TON of DSP (and the sounds are unlimited). Super great travel rig, as well.
