Great video! I appreciated you showing the ship instead of pointing the camera at yourself while giving the tour. I also appreciated you showing on the map the location of things which included the deck number. This helped to orient us very clearly, so I didn’t have to keep referring to the deck plans . Very professional video,very clear .

I’m going on Sky Princess on November 25th
Thank god the Wakeview and Sanctuary Pools were added to the later Royal Class ships. That empty deck at the stern looks like a dull space, unconducive to the socializing that I saw consistently taking place in and around the Wakeview Pool on _Discovery Princess_ . No Sanctuary pool also leaves the Fountain Pools as the only ones available for 3,500 passengers.
Agreed. It's something the older Royal Class ships are definitely missing. Glad it's made a return on the Sphere Class ships too, albeit in a different location.

Loved the Alaska Cruise. Don't get me wrong but have had BETTER cruises. Don't know if covid had a lot to do with this but will rethink the $ spent

That’s correct. Those travelling with Princess Plus receive two complimentary meals at the casual dining venues (such as Alfredo’s) while those on Princess Premier receive unlimited casual dining.

Hey Jaime, there’s an Australian power outlet in each room. I have a room tour on my channel of a Majestic deluxe balcony stateroom and I filmed the outlets so you can take a look. It’s the same setup in all of the staterooms.

Going Sept 1-8. Do you have any tips for packing? Also is there live shows? Someone told me no. So I’m confused.
There is plenty of live entertainment throughout each cruise from production shows to set entertainers like comedians and musicians. All will be available to view once you’re onboard in the Princess app.
Packing isn’t my forte, but check out the Cruise Tips channel and you’ll find plenty there.
Am I confused you referred to RCL in the video but princess is a CCL brand no?
I referred to Ovation and Quantum of the Seas a couple of times for the sake of comparison. They're ships of a similar era and size, and it's interesting to note the differences.
Ive considered cruising on either Princess or celebrity, but I havent been sure as they are sort of in the category of a premium line. I heard they are light on things to do and that worried me that I may be bored how did your onboard experience go Adrian? Was there very much to do during both the day and night? Was there enough to keep you entertained? So glad you enjoyed you holiday :)

I don't think you can go wrong with Princess (haven't tried Celebrity yet), Mediallion Class is what makes it special in this day and age. Being able to see where your cruise partners are, as well as ordering food and drinks anywhere on the ship is a big perk that isn't on the other lines just yet. As for things to do, there are plenty of activities, shows, and entertainment going on around the ships throughout the day and into the night, you'll always find something up your alley.
There is not enough time in the day to do everything you want to do. Some great shows, trivia, classes and other events may overlap. Princess does a great job with options of ways to enjoy yourself. If people cruise and get bored it's a personal issue, definitely not on any cruise line.
Do you think even for kids/teens? They don't necessarily want to spend their days in the group places. They'd def want an indoor pool. The last ship we went on to Canada didn't have a covered pool and honestly, that was super hard for 8 day sailing. @@DeanStalker

I’m planning an Alaskan cruise. Debating between majestic or discovery. Discovery is pricier..Any thought. I keep going back and forth.Thanks for your time.
Majestic is an older version of Discovery, but otherwise they're very similar. The main differences off the top of my head are that Discovery has an aft-pool, and Majestic has an indoor pool located forward (where Discovery has hers set up as an outdoor pool). Honestly, much of a muchness and if the cost difference is substantial, I would opt for Majestic. My honest feeling about Alaska is that the ship you're on is sort of irrelevant. During my Alaskan cruise (Star Princess, 2015) I was outdoors basically all the time - didn't even watch one show.
The Majestic & DIscovery were nearly identical in pricing with very similar Alaskan itineraries for the dates I compared. I thought, why would I pay the same for an older ship? However, I then learned the Discovery has no indoor swimming option- for Alaska! The Majestic has supposedly changed their indoor pool and made it into a family space. I can't find that information on Princess site, but ofc on YT I've read about it. So I guess it depends on if you want to go for a swim and not freeze upon exiting the pool and do you want kids allowed in there?
@@karenjones1427 it’s not a family pool space specifically, it’s just that unlike the Retreat Pool on the other Royal Class ships, Princess allows kids to access it. I still think the ship doesn’t matter as much for an itinerary like Alaska, during my cruise I spent most of the time staring out to the passing sights but I know that’s not for everyone. Honestly, I’d pick a smaller, older ship with a lower passenger count in a heartbeat.

There's no difference between the steak in the crown and dining rooms, unless you want steak every night! The crown grill is great, but the other things in the dining rooms were some of the best meals I've ever had.

Yes, it was during my cruise
Any place onboard to enjoy a cigar?
There used to be a cigar lounge, however this has been replaced with a games arcade. I believe cigars can only be smoked outdoors in the designated areas - typically one side of the promenade deck, one of the aft upper decks and an area near the pool.

It's a pity she's not coming back for the 2024/2025 season. Oh well, booked in on Carnival Luminosa for April 2024 and Diamond Princess for Jan 2025.
She’ll definitely be missed after the next summer, but thankfully we’ll get her back again for the 23/24 season.

Much oh the video now obsolete as many changes have happened. I just came off a cruise yesterday. Btw, if you're confused by a buffet restaurant layout, you're probably hungover or still drunk. Lay off the booze! The noodles option is just cup of noodles in a nice bowl. Nothing to get excited about. Harmony is still there. Not exciting, but not worth $39 either, if it's in your package, go ahead. Crown is better, but the free steak in the dining room is just as good; if you're a big fat person and dining room steaks are too small, order 2, they don't mind. The pools are obviously TOO SMALL, by a mile, intensely crowded, loud and unpleasant. Really a horrible design flaw. Other than that, a beautiful ship
Yeah a few things have changed since I filmed my review. Perhaps you can share a link to your CZcams channel and review video right here in your comment, so viewers can compare our experiences.
By the way, it’s not a case of “if” the buffet layout is confusing. It *is* confusing. It’s a literal maze of corridors. I’m not sure of your cruising experience but check out the Windjammer on a Quantum Class ship to see what a well-considered and laid out buffet restaurant looks like.

Majestic launched with the Lobster Grill, and it was an added cost from the beginning unfortunately. I sailed on Majestic in 2019 and ordered (and paid for) a grilled lobster and it was not good 🙅🏻♂️

Correct. This video was posted before the change - you can see that date on the page when viewing it. I’ve since made numerous videos discussing the changes and implementation of “casual” dining.

The colour scheme is boring. I expected something a bit brighter. If the ship typically caters to Asians, why did the interior designers not include any red accents? A op of color would have been nice. And you showed no food selections at the buffet. Everyone wants to see what is typically served... I sure came to this video because I was hungry LOL.
Check out Discovery and Sky Princess for Princess’ new design motif - think lighter, bright colour schemes. And wait for my upcoming review of Sun Princess for their brand new ship and totally new designs.
