Hi Everyone! Hope you are all well. I would like to explain why Trinidadians say 'Curry Duck'. We were ruled by the British. In school, we were taught to put the adjective before the noun when describing a person, thing or place. So curry (adjective) and chicken (noun). Therefore, we say 'Curry Chicken' 🇹🇹
Guyana was also colonized by the British, formerly British Guiana. Guyana is a CXC country just like Trinidad. The British actually say chicken curry, mutton curry etc... and not curry chicken.
@rudeboy2502 I respect that y'all say, "chicken curry". But we say, "curry chicken". What I can't understand is why it is such a big deal amongst all of us. We should just accept and respect each other's customs and traditions and move on 🥰🇹🇹

Then people started calling Guyanese backwards, so now we fed-up being "corrected", especially when "chicken curry' is grammatically correct. Guyanese don't care if you say "curry chicken" (grammatically it should be CURRIED chicken), just don't come for Guyanese when they say chicken curry and lef we in peace.
