A NEW LIFE FOR A LEGENDARY PLANE

- A year ago I sold my Beloved Baron 58TC and started looking for a pressurized twin piston engine.
This movie introduces you to this beautiful machine which took me over 6 months to renovate.
This is a shorter version of the movie, 8 minutes, which shows
a time lapse of the renovation and a quick test flight.
I will also be posting a longer version of the renovation for the hard core crowd. Enjoy!

I wish you would have taken more videos of the process the plane went through. However, in the same breath, I am criticizing you may I say thank you twice. Once for what you did take, and most of all thank you for restoring her. She is beautiful!
We have a low airframe time C414A, needs interior and panel work, good now, but I'd love to do what you did. Lovely.

Very nice job on the renovation! I'm glad to see you kept some of the steam gauges in the cockpit. It's always nice to have the old-fashioned ever-critical trio (if not six-pack) available in case of complete electrical failure.

Cessna is not the only company to build pressurized piston twins, Piper and Aero Commander also built a few, but the production run on those aircraft were relatively short for various reasons. For a few years during the early 80s I was an A&P working for an FBO that did all the maintenance on 8 corporate 421's. Granted the 421 and 310 are the only Cessna Piston twins with really good hot and high single engine performance, that being said, even if I had the money, I wouldn't own a Cessna pressurized cabin class piston twin, in general they're maintenance pigs, then again, if you only put a hundred hours a year on it, you might not even realize any difference, good luck, and keep the sunny side up.

Christophe you did an amazing transformation! Beautiful colors outside and inside! And your approach was excellent for 1000 vvi. Please only accept to be on centerline. This is my only critique, very minor critique. Awesome all the way around!
they have no sound beat pistons engines....Good choice, the 414 is one of the magic light twin to flight....i flew it, C414 super riley rocket mode....8 cylinders twin turbo, amazing sound!

nice video christophe.. retracing flaps on roll out actually might hurt your landing distance since the cessna has split flaps, which don't add lift, only drag. i like your decision to go with the retrofit on a pressurized turbo twin rather than go for whatever the new market has to offer new these days!
The avionics on the original looked pretty nice. Oh well. Those are sweet airplanes.

Nice Job Christophe, absolutely beautiful airplane inside and out! I don't know how much you paid for the original aircraft but I would imagine that you have less than $500K total. Not bad at all considering you have exactly what you wanted and not some kind of a compromise. Like the RAM mod for the extra margin of safety!
