- The MIDO Ocean Star Compression gmt dive watch ... you either love it or hate it. Well I bought it, so I guess you know where I stand on the looks… but there is a lot to explore on this watch from Mido. The review is a little longer to cover it all but I think it is worth it. I can’t think of a heritage built Swiss made automatic GMT that I like more at the moment, maybe it’s just because it is new to my collection but definitely an instant favourite. That said, like all watches, it does have its drawbacks and this one has definitely made some big sacrifices to pack all those features in.

I’ve had mine since launch. It’s traveled that world with me. I really love it. Quirky and interesting enough for non watch nerds. And accurate enough for watch nerds. Cheap enough that I can wear it everywhere without worrying about it. And waterproof enough that I can jump into the ocean at any point. Maybe my favorite travel watch.

I find it to be an attractive watch. I wouldn’t wear it daily, but I think it would make an excellent conversation piece amongst enthusiasts. The dial is busy, but not any worse than my Flightmaster or Navitimer. Sometimes you just want to wear something unique even if it isn’t practical.

Thank you for your review which I think is the best on the blue dial found on utube so far. What do you think about the orange/red dial? Will that dial has a better legibility?
Honestly not sure as I haven't seen one in person, I think the orange is a recent release 🙂
‘Mish-mash of vintage charm’ - couldn’t have said it better myself. Altogether too much stuff on the dial for my taste, but I can see why it might appeal. Nice bracelet, though :)
There is a newer release which is toned down, I should've mentioned in the video it's ref. M026.829.18.041.00 same case but no world time and decompression clutter 😅... Cheers for the comments as always 🍻

Hmm ... nah . Great review & interesting piece but far to polarizing + plastic parts or not i'm just not a fan of the movement.
Haha polarizing indeed, cheers for stopping by again chief 🍻 what puts you off the movement specifically? Don't get me wrong I would prefer an eta but never happening in the swatch group now 😆
I bought this watch over a year ago and it had spent more time at the shop getting its besel fixed than on my wrist. It is a piece of garbage.
I've had no issues with mine it's still flawless, sorry to hear of your troubles.
lgbtq ruined anything rainbow for me
I don't personally have anything against the rainbow from my end ... but I think this watch is very pastely pallete rather than the bold colors of a rainbow 🙂
