    Stephen Lee is a great player. I use to love watching him when he was still on the tour. Good luck to him and i hope he gets on ok and earns a living out of the sport he is great at.

      @@itellyouwhy6957 No, it's like a murderer has explained to someone how he can be hired to kill based on previous jobs. The only reason the deal wasn't finalised is because they were journalists. The apologists for Higgins are a disgrace.

    He’s not skint. He’s got loads stashed away plus his own school so he’ll be alright if he doesn’t return to the professional circuit. However, he still cuts the mustard and could compete. He doesn’t play recklessly!

    How on Earth is Lee's near perfect attempt at 19:55 a foul and a miss, yet Hoo's wild attempt at 24:38 is just a miss?

    • @Jason-ww3xi
      @Jason-ww3xi Před 6 lety

      Because there's multiple other options that guarantee he'll hit the reds. That shot will always be a miss. He's simply trying to maximise the safety of the outcome. Hope this helps.

    • @healfgael8493
      @healfgael8493 Před 6 lety

      I definitely see your point but my understanding of the miss rule is that it is designed to prevent players committing professional fouls - missing the object ball deliberately and gaining a positional advantage in the process (such as rolling the cue ball into baulk behind a colour without ever hitting a red). It's true that Lee had other options open to him at 19:55, but Lee's shot stopped so close to the target reds that he left Hoo in much the same position as if he had successfully hit the reds, and so he gained no advantage from missing deliberately. The referee, having noted that no advantage resulted from fouling, should call it as a foul but not a miss, at least from my understanding. On the other hand, Hoo's shot at 24:38 was the most obvious escape route, but there were clear advantages to missing the object green deliberately, so the referee cannot discount that possibility. Playing devil's advocate, Hoo could have missed the green deliberately and intentionally used the pocket to put the white safe in baulk. An incredibly tough shot, definitely, but from a position of fairness the outcome of the foul left the the cue ball in a safer position than a successful escape likely would have. Therefore, the referee should err on the side of caution and call a foul and a miss.
      I can definitely see the argument why Lee's shot should be called a miss, but I would argue that Hoo's shot should be as well. (Apologies for the rant.)

    • @Jason-ww3xi
      @Jason-ww3xi Před 6 lety

      It's all good. Trust me, 1000/1000 the first is always a miss. The snookered player has the option to just smash into the reds off one cushion, but is trying to minimise risk, so the referee has no choice but to replace the white(if the player chooses, of course). I'm not sure about the second shot. I hadn't watched it when I first replied. My only guess is that Lee was more than 25 points(green to black) ahead and so it couldn't be called a miss. It's also 100% a miss, but I can only assume Lee is at the snookers required stage in the frame.

    As soon as you are eligible to return to the circuit Steven please do. No-one has the cue power you do and you are the equal of O'Sullivan and Hendry at their best in terms of cue ball control and potting ability. The past is the past - let it remain there because we want you in our snooker future,
