The Congress of Vienna met in 1814-1815 after Napoleon's defeat to create a blueprint for a peaceful and stable Europe. Prince Klemens von Metternich of Austria was instrumental in laying the groundwork for a conservative order that would last for a generation. It would be nearly 100 years before Europe erupted in another major war of Napoleonic proportions.
This video is intended for students of AP European History and Western Civilization, as well as lifelong learners.
This video was really helpful for me at 1 in the morning while cramming for a test.
LOL SAME
WTF same here
The video is bad. First of the kongress of vienna is 1814 - 1815.
The other part is that it was no "European" leaders at this Congress. Each contry sent a delegate or representiv. You can choose which of those worlds you want to use.
But this video is really bad.
@@Rikard_A If you could spell several of your words with more accuracy, that would add more credibility to your conviction.
4:30 am 😎
If Metternich could have witnessed the unification of Germany, he would have jumped out of a window.
@McKenna Nash The 3rd Defenestration of Prague lol
defenestration just means 'being thrown out a window', not jumping lol
@McKenna Nash He beat me by one year lol
😂😂😂😂😂
Your videos are very helpful. It gets straight the the important things like The Concert of Europe. You don't add unimportant details. Everything is sequenced orderly. I learned a lot from this video alone. Thank You!
Thanks, Jason! I'm glad my teaching style is helping you!
Who else is here studying an hour before the 2019 euro exam?
JasonDaTroll Me
Me as well lol
Me too from india ...we also have to study about europe history for exam purpose ....

I'm 43 and enjoying my bottle of wine here. Also enjoying your videos. I find it's always good to do as much Audio/Video prep work as possible before the heavy duty reading. You can get a real feel for a particular epoch, put faces to the names, get plenty of visuals to help remember all the significant dates and it helps get everything in chronological order. There's so much recent history that's been documented on Audio and Audio/Video with personal testimonials also it seems to help as a reminder that there's always way more than one thing going on all at once with no easy over all narrative or easy answers that explain everything. Quite often there's plenty of events, plenty of confusion and in's and out's that involve so many different groups with so many differnet beliefs it even seems contradictory at times. Love It!! Thanks for the Video's my freind.
You are the coolest historian ever. I like your videos.
It's been 7 years. How has your life changed?
That was awesome. Quick and very informative. Thank you.

Thank you for the videos! They are concise and to the point. The AP exam is tomorrow so it won't be helpful for me, but a video on the Congress of Berlin and as well as the colonization of Africa would be beneficial.

Thank you so much! Ihave a history test and i can't learn by reading, I am an acoustic type. No matter how many times I read a page, information does not register. Watching your videos help me , not only learn, but also comprehend the information due to your explanation being very thorough and simple. My test is tomorrow, i'm hoping for, at least, a 16/20 .

+Tom Richey Hey, could make a more detailed video (possibly series?) on Napoleon and his life time and events in France during his rule? I think it would really help for understanding him for the Euro Exam. Thanks.

"Austria, Prussia, Russia and Britain" (2.04) sounds to me like "Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde".
Congrats, Tom, I show your videos to my students in the end of every modern history class.

And btw I really like how you teach! Can focus on it so much better than just reading a boring book
A late-comer to your Pre_Trump videos, just wondering what the state of play was for the Ottoman Empire during these Holy Alliance discussions? Or, with their increasing irrelevancy, were they just excluded?
Thnks TOM
